From the cleanliness to the staff being so helpful there’s absolutely nothing to complain about, let’s not forget the pricing being very reasonable. As I’ve gone other places and asked for help with certain things they’ve rudely told me to Google; not here though.

“I recently visited Elysiem in Potomac, MD, with my puppy Coco for her first grooming session, and I was thoroughly impressed by the entire team’s kindness and professionalism. From the moment we walked in, everyone, especially our groomer Ashley, made us feel incredibly welcome. They treated Coco with such care and gentleness, ensuring her grooming experience was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.The attention to detail was fantastic. Coco came out looking adorable with a lovely bow, and the treats she received, which she adored, were a thoughtful touch. “It was a GREAT to experience the Super Pet Expo this past weekend 8/28/20-8/30/2020.The event was superbly run. The crowd, vendors and workers were enthusiastic and energetic.All health protocols were followed. There was great entertainment for pets, kids and adults.The producer of the event Eric, was always present making guests, vendors and especially pets feel welcome and safe.Special thanks to the clean up crew responding to pet’s accidents. “The nicest shelter I've ever seen! I volunteer here and am constantly amazed at how unbelievably clean and well-maintained it is for the animals! The animals are treated like royalty, even though they might not feel like royalty, since they are in a new, loud environment. But I can assure you they are extremely well cared for: a very tough feat when you have hundreds of animals at any given time. This is a tight-run ship and the county does a great job here.

The adoption side of the building is very welcoming, clean, and staff are always helpful. I can't speak to the animal service side of the bldg, but I can't imagine it being much different. That side has a walk-in "pantry" where county residents can get free pet stuff (food, gear) any time. You just walk in.

The adoption side has a number of weeks during the year where there is no fee to adopt! Most dogs at the shelter are larger ones. There's a "small dog room" and those dogs tend to get adopted quickly.

Please adopt, don't shop! There are so many fantastic animals here and they all need homes.

Just FYI: If you come to browse adoptable dogs, there's no way to have 100's of dogs in an area and it NOT smell like dogs, or have lots of barking noise.

“First time here today and I can say I absolutely loved it! Caitlin groomed my 6 year old yorkie and he looks AMAZING she listened to everything I said and gave her opinion and I went with it and boy am I so pleased! He looks absolutely great and he seemed so happy! Will definitely be coming back every 6-8 weeks! Was soo reasonably priced I was seriously shocked. So so happy I got recommended to come here ! 10/10 highly recommend!!!”

“Brain goes above the call of duty to care for his flock and make sure that the owners and birds are a good match, he has adopted out many, many birds and the homes have been very good ones, well matched . He is totally committed to his birds like no others, he eats breathes and lives parrots. He does what ever he has to in order to make each bird safe and well cared for, his volunteers are exceptional. Brain loves these magnificent birds and treats them the way they should be treated and teaches the adoptee how to take care of them, and they can always ask him for help if it is needed. Out of sight is not forgotten. I have never seen a more committed person to these birds. If anyone is unable to spend the time needed to volunteer at the Foundation for this small amount of time and commitment , they don't have time for a parrot.”
