I am an extremely selective customer. Prior to coming to Sew More Couture, I have bad experiences at 3 different locations. As soon as my special garments were touched by Sew More Couture, I knew I was in the hands of professionals. My complex couture garments were altered with perfection. I am still talking about Sew More Couture. I told my friends that this is the best place in the DMV. I highly recommend this location for custom tailoring and alterations. They are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My clothes were so perfect, I tried them on twice, just to admire the work.

I had a wonderful experience when I need my wedding dress to be altered. I had purchased my dress a few months before I was diagnosed with coronary artery disease that required a quadruple bypass. Unfortunately, the surgery left a scar that was quite visible with the V-neck of the dress. Bailey worked her magic and turned the V-neck in to a boat neck. I could not be happier with the results! Everyone at Sew More Couture was friendly and provided exceptional service.

I cannot recommend SMC enough for wedding dress alterations. They did an absolutely amazing job on my dress. My dress bodice needed to be completely reworked, back redone and new straps designed on top of the bustle and hemming. They did an amazing job, in a short amount of time. They stuck to timelines and delivered a gorgeous dress!!

I had a bridesmaid dress and my wedding dress altered at Sew More Couture and both were fantastic. Mrs. V was extremely helpful while figuring out my options to alter my dress if I didn’t lose a couple of inches in time for my wedding. Ultimately only needed a bustle but it was absolutely PERFECT!

Zero stars .I did not receive good customer experience the lady with braids did not offer to help me with my dress in the rain and they did but explain the refund policy to me. I am disappointed and will not be back.Service: Custom tailoring

Ms. V is amazing. After another seamstress ruined my dress, I had to order a new one. I was lucky enough to find the same dress as before, but only had a month before my wedding. After another seamstress quoted me $700 just to hem my dress (because the bottom lace had to be removed and was too complex apparently), I called Ms. V. I was in tears explaining the whole situation to her and her first response was “when can you come in?” She got me in the very next day and was able to alter my dress perfectly in less than 3 weeks before my wedding!!! If you have a dress that requires complex alterations, you found your seamstress! Do not take your dress anywhere else! After the experience I had, I won’t trust anyone but Ms. V in the future and she will ALWAYS be my go to from now on. I live an hour away from her shop, but the drive is absolutely worth it! Thank you to Ms. V and her team! I appreciate you all so much!!!

Ms. V and her team are nothing short of incredible. My dress required a lot of intricate work to make sure it fit just right (Ms. V and the Princess stitch!), as well as to create custom straps (shout out to Bailey!!), but by the end of everything, I came out of this shop with the dress of my dreams! They were so accommodating of my little tweaks and questions, a couple of mini meltdowns, and they even did alterations for one of my bridesmaids too. I always felt so comfortable and cared for, and honestly our appointments were really fun. I'm so appreciative of their patience with me and the way they went the extra mile to make sure I felt happy and beautiful in my dress, which I think shows in my pictures! Thank you Ms. V! We ❤️ you!!

After a negative experience with another alterations shop, I came to Sew More Couture in hopes that they could fix my wedding dress. I was blown away by their customer service as well as their work! They walked me through every step of what they'd be doing to my dress, explaining in detail what the outcome would be so that I didn't have any nerves. They were able to create a bustle that was so seamless and hidden it didn't look like there was a bustle at all!! Every issue I had previously had with the dress was nonexistent after Sew More Couture was finished working on it - and I was finally excited about my dress again! Cannot recommend this shop enough!!

SEW MORE Couture is absolutely amazing!!!! I can’t stop talking about them. their skills are top notch!!! so professional !!!! if you need to fix your wedding attire or costumes. This is the place!!!I bought a Victorian dress off Amazon and half of it was missing! I found SEW More Couture and they made me so happy!!!

I needed my dress hemmed for a wedding I am attending in the next few weeks. When I called for an appointment, I asked about the price to just hem the bottom of my dress. The woman on the phone told me there was no way she could tell me a number, but said it would most likely be lower than $100. I decided to take the chance and have this business hem my dress because I had a similar dress hemmed for $40 in the past and was in a time crunch. After standing in my dress for 45 min on the stand while the seamstress pinned the dress, I was told it would be $145 because she was charging me $70 for the "Chiffon" layer. Meanwhile, the dress cost $50 and I was asking her to hem two. I took my business elsewhere and am having it hemmed for 1/3 of the price, which I was told upfront. I think it would be better for both the business and the customer for the business to disclose the price upfront, and to invest in a hem marker to save everyone the time, which is used in most other seamstress shops I've been to and takes far less time to acquire measurements.

I came to Sew More Couture after seeing the wonderful reviews online! So now I am leaving one myself :) I couldn’t have had a better time getting my dress altered. I had a handful of appointments that were brief and easy for me as a stressed, anxious bride at the time— Ms. V and her wonderful team took GREAT care of me. You can give your honest opinion if you are worried about how anything may look and they are happy to give you their expert opinion on how things can be tweaked for your liking— however, I didn’t have to worry about that too much since my dress was pretty much perfect even before my last alteration appointment! :) Thank you so much again SMC for the wonderful experience and your friendly demeanor!!! <3 You made what could have been a stressful experience so fun for me! I will be sure to refer to you and come back when I need something altered in the future!!! -Taylor

I took a bridesmaid dress here to get altered. I scheduled an appointment to come in and have them measure, etc.— making this appointment on their website was super easy. When I got there, the lady that helped me (I didn’t catch her name) was very energetic and friendly. I also briefly met the owner while I was there and she is a lovely lady. Very friendly and knowledgeable.I ended up only having the bottom hemmed since it was too long, but they did an amazing job! My dress was ready in 2 weeks and I paid less than some of my friends did at the dry cleaners and I feel I got better service. I also requested to save the extra fabric they cut off which they were able to accommodate. Highly recommend this place!Service: Bridesmaid dress alterations
