“This place is a hidden gem in Ocean City! We stayed in a cabin for a week in July and had an awesome time. When we checked in the cabin was spotless. They do a great job cleaning and maintaining everything. The cabin is a nice size and the screened in porch was our favorite part. They have cabins and two hotels. The pool is really nice and the water temperature was perfect. There's a playground and some open field space for activities. The property backs onto Herring Creek which is an awesome view. I took some videos and pictures with my drone while I was there and the whole surrounding area is beautiful. This place is kind of far from the beach and boardwalk, but you can drive to the Park and Ride nearby and ride the bus back and forth for free. Beach Bum West-O is an awesome place to stay with great staff and a great property. We'll definitely be back!”

“Spent 4 nights while attending Oceans Calling in OC. Great location. Carol the front desk supervisor and her staff Mike and Liz were amazing. The lobby was inviting and decorated and very well decorated. The rooms although older are well equipped and have balconies. We had a partial view of the ocean from our balcony. The front desk readily had room essentials for us when we asked. They also had recommendations for restaurants in the area. Definitely recommend if you want closeness to the boardwalk in OC. Close to the inlet and all OC has to offer.”

Easy access to the beach and incredible warm walnut chocolate chip cookies!!! We had such an amazing time!!! Definitely will be returning again!!Rooms: The rooms are so luxurious!! “We have been staying twice a year for the past 4 years and have no complaints. Staff is always very friendly and helpful. The sweetheart of a woman who prepares the breakfast is always helpful and friendly service with a smile. One year my refrigerator died and when I called the front desk it was changed in about a half hour.You can’t ask for better service. Thank you all.”

“I chose this hotel for the amenities inside and the location with the ocean view was amazing. We sat on the balcony a lot, could have used better sitting and that would be the one thing I would change ASAP. Customer service was good and they accommodated us when needed. As most people said, the carpets were dirty but that's what wearing slides are for. Housekeeping employees were really nice. I've learned that everyone is opinionated and always points out the negatives. There are always negatives wherever you go but personally, I like to make the best out of everything. They have an indoor and outdoor pool which are big along with a game room with pool tables.For my first time in Ocean City MD, I had a great experience and I would choose the Grand Hotel again especially for that amazing ocean view.”

“Me, my husband and son stayed here over labor day weekend for a last minute vacation. It was our first time. When we checked in the young man at the desk was very welcoming, with a smile and he even let us check in a few hours early which was so awesome! We walked into the room and were amazed. It was updated, and very clean!! My son turned to me and said it was the best room we have ever stayed in. The hotels location is awesome for fun, food and the beach!!! There was a younger crowd staying above us who were loud but the manager took care of it. The pool was great as well! They also have a free ice machine :). We will be staying here again!!Walkability: Very walkable to everything.Food & drinks: Close to so many restaurants!”

“Nice little spot for a short stay at the beach and boardwalk. The location is Excellent. Not 5 stars and so don’t go expecting that. Clean spacious rooms.Fully equipped kitchen, small but clean bathrooms. The exterior hallways could use a facelift. The carpet in the rooms need to go. Could also use screen doors on the balconies for cool summer nights when you don’t need the air.Most importantly the room was spotless. Housekeeping does a great job!!Friendly staff.Overall it was a good short stay. Location location location. ????”

“We loved this hotel so much that we came back a month later to enjoy it some more! The room we had was very spacious and the balcony was huge with a great table that had 6 tall chairs for gazing at the sea, the sky, the boats, and the sun bathers! I recommend booking directly with the hotel. They are very friendly, responsive, and professional, and they answer the phone when you call them. Built about 5 years ago, the building is in excellent condition too!”

“Really enjoyed our stay! I haven’t been back to Ocean City for over a dozen years. Furniture is dated but well kept compared to other locations. For me the nostalgia of it being a bit dated is a positive!Our room was clean and parking was fairly straightforward. We stayed two nights and are looking forward to booking again here this upcoming year! There was a public use porch with rocking chairs we took advantage of one of the evenings (not open 24/7 but pretty late!).”

“We stayed a week at the Princess Bayside. We had a large room on the top floor . Very beautiful views of the bay . (Great for sunsets ) The room was clean, but in need of some repairs, the slider to the balcony was broken, so if not careful, you could lock yourself out .we had a small kitchen with everything you need, like dishes, pots and pans silverware large refrigerator and dishwasher. The location was great, but 20 blocks from the start of the Boardwalk. But beach access is right across the street . The location is great if you don't care about the Boardwalk .Rooms: Clean but needs some repairs. The drop ceiling looks really bad popping up in the kitchen. The slider door to the balcony needs fixing . The trim on the corners kept falling offNearby activities: Lots of activities. Just very far to walk to the beginning of the boardwalk, never mind the end of it . “A nice hotel for one night stay. Compared to others, this hotel is excellent for what I got for what I paid. Looking for a one-night stay off-season, I was surprised that a hotels prices didn't go down. Booking this hotel was a little risky because some 2022-year-old reviews are too bad. The 2023 season has a lot of nice reviews. I am glad that the hotel met my expectations. A room was clean, and a bed was comfortable. A bathroom has a bathtub, which is a rare thing for now. So often, just a shower. There was a little complimentary breakfast with some coffee, bananas, and some bakery. We have enjoyed our time on the beach.”

“We didn't stay in the hotel/motel. We ate at the restaurant/diner. We were a party of 9 (6 adults, 3 in wheelchair scooters and 3 kids). The food was good. The prices were a little high for the amount of food. My aunt had been there once before that week before we came down. The place was clean and so were the bathrooms. The staff was friendly. They got our order right.”

“I recently stayed here in the off season and can’t say enough about how great the location is! It’s directly in front of the boardwalk, just steps from the beach. The rooms were clean and comfortable and housekeeping took great care to clean each day and replenish towels, cups, and the essentials. The front desk staff were very welcoming and kind, and check in/out was easy and fast. Great parking and easy access to my room from the beach. The bathrooms are quite small, especially the shower, but not something I couldn’t live with. Overall, it’s a great place that I plan on returning to next year!”

“Visited the end of July 2023 for a week.This is hotel is in a great location and in walking distance to many things.There's no breakfast but there are options in walking distance (we enjoyed the DD across the street)There's also the "rope walk" outdoor bar/restaurant across the street which has an outdoor play place for kids.The hotel itself was clean, staff was helpful and kind and we loved the indoor pool (great in case of bad weather which we had one evening)The price was more than fair and when we called about pricing questions, the staff was very helpful.Very close walk to the beach and lots of covered parking.Small arcade that was just interesting enough for a change of pace for my 5 year old when it rained. Some machines didn't work and you have to buy a special card to use any of the machines. I wouldn't consider this arcade anything special but good for once when you're rained out.To gym guests:The gym was also better than expected. hyperextension, leg extension, treadmill, elliptical, delt machine, seated press, ab machine. Used the seated press backwards for some rows.We will definitely be staying here next year!”

I wish the sink would’ve been in the bathroom, or maybe the bathroom a little bigger but it was very nice! I loved the fact you didn’t have to go through to get to your room.”

“This review is 5 stars because this motel met my expectations. This is a budget or mid-priced motel and everyting we experienced was as advertised. The room was small, but clean. It had a cold air conditioner, hot shower and comfortable bed. The location was great for walking to the beach and boardwalk. Staff was very freindly. Just note there is no ice machine but you can purchase ice at the convenience store across the parking lot. We did not have any issues with items or furnishings being broken as some others have posted.”
