The hotel itself is a good value. The staff, every single person is polite that works here. The rooms are are dated. It’s a three star hotel. I would stay here again except the parking lot is too small and cars are almost touching each other side-by-side. That’s the bigger downfall. We had two rooms, one had decent bed. The other one had a sponge for bed. Overall, good experience, you could save money by staying here, but I don’t know if it’s worth it.

Gateway Hotel is extremely convenient if you are looking to stay near the boardwalk/beach. Being on the corner of Baltimore Ave & 1st street, it's also immediately off Rt 50 and just a couple minutes' drive after crossing the bridge. Parking is free, and there is a lot within walking distance including a liquor store, 7-Eleven, and plenty of restaurants. Note that there is no light/signal when crossing Baltimore Ave immediately across from the hotel, so it can be a pain waiting for traffic to calm.
Despite the classic beach town look on the hotel's exterior, the interior is very up to date. IOur rooms were spotless and the staff were friendly and helpful when we did need assistance. I appreciated the view of the inlet from the top floor balcony. They do not have breakfast, but do have coffee and vending machines available in the lobby.
Rooms: Clean rooms, nice balconies!
Nearby activities: Boardwalk, beach, and amusement parks/arcades are a short walk away.
Walkability: Everything you need is in walking distance. Can be hard to cross Baltimore Ave when traffic is busy.

This is our go to place when visiting from NJ..it's within walking distance of Beach..5 min...it doesn't serve breakfast and the room was a lil musty with mildew when we first git there..but the smell died down..

I had a fantastic stay at Gateway Hotel and Suites in Ocean City, MD. The location is perfect, just steps from the boardwalk. The service was amazing, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The room was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area!

Wonderful hotel for our visit. It's clean with on-site parking for guests. Be cautioned it is a very tight squeeze parking lot space. We had a small terrace that was fun to sit on and relax. Plus, it's a bonus of being a short walking distance from the beach without having the on the beach price. It is a great price for being this close to the beach. I felt it was quiet for having been so close to the crowds of people. We preferred to stay here this trip and if we return we may stay for longer than one night.

Stayed here for a vacation for the first time in ocean city. Wonderful location right next to the beach! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Defiantly would stay again

Me and my boyfriend stayed for 2 nights and it was great! Super close to the boardwalk and the front desk was extremely nice. Rooms were clean and spacious. The parking lot was a little tight at times but manageable.

My family and I stayed here from June 23rd to June 26th and we had a wonderful stay! We got wonderful service and attention. The rooms are big, clean, and comfortable. When we asked the front desk for blankets, we got them delivered to our room right away, in other hotels the front desk told me I had to pick up the blankets myself. The location of this hotel is quite convenient, it is walking distance from downtown and many good restaurants. I have stayed in many hotels including grand Floridian in Disney, and the Hershey park hotel, and this hotel is the has the best service! Front desk staff and manager are extremely excellent. Measure to talk to Carole. She's make sure everything goes well with you, she takes her time and talks to you family. I stayed here last week going back a gain for 4st July weekend.

Overall a nice place to stay in a great location. Parking is ample but tight; not great for large vehicles. The rooms are nice and rather updated. The service at the front desk was great and the gentleman who works evening shift was very helpful.

We stayed on the 5th floor and you can see the ocean!!
