These place is so cute. I only stayed one night but everything was great! I don't think I could stay here for more than 2 night. The front desk lady! And the owner of The Oak Mar owns the Oakland Motel down the street! I went for a morning stroll & according to his tag "Mr. Kitty & I met and he followed me back to my room. But I could not go inside with him because there are no pets allowed but I was sitting outside of my room & he jumped on me! I am a animal lover so it was a match made in heaven!

Nice place with a good country style restaurant on-site. Rooms are still being upgraded, but generally comfortable and the staff is very accommodating.

Motel was clean. Bathroom leaves a bit to be desired, but for that price you get what you pay for. Room was nice overall. Fridge and microwave were a nice surprise. Decor was really great!Rooms: Room was nice overall. Having a fridge and microwave was great and enjoyed the decor.Food & drinks: Diner attached. Food was delicious, service great, big portions.

Food & drinks: This motel has a diner, The 3rd Street Diner. Enjoyed dinner. Server was friendly and the food was good and reasonably priced.

No coffee maker in rooms. Restaurant is great, but doesn't open until 8 for breakfast. Good location.

Oak Mar Motel located about a 1/4 mile just outside of Oakland,MD. just keeps getting better. We have stayed here many times over the years without any disappointments. This time, we requested a 1st floor room. It was spacious, extremely clean. Beds & pillows were comfortable. Great size easy walk-in shower with plenty of hot water. Mini fridge, microwave, TV with cable, 2 double beds. Rooms were recently renovated. A "3rd Street Diner", is on the first floor. Excellent choice for breakfast, lunch & dinner.See you again soon!??Rooms: Rooms were recently renovated. Great room sizes. Nice accommodations.Nearby activities: Plenty to do and see. Quaint town of Oakland, MD., Is 1/4 mile away. Deep Creek Lake is about 20 miles away. Lots to see & doWalkability: You could walk to town.

Did not stay in the motel but the diner was great. Good menu selection, quick service, and the food was very good. If you are in near Oakland, you should definitely give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

The room was dirty, and even after the maid was called back to fix it, it was still not clean. It is an extremely old motel, and it shows.The beds were comfortable, and it was affordable.
