“Great local place to get the things you want/need for the home. Helpful staff, warm atmosphere, and a little bit of everything at your fingertips. Love that this is part of our community.”
“A hardware store like they used to be! You can get pretty much anything you need here. They also have a plant shop attached. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, I have always had positive experiences and left with everything I needed (and then some ?). This place is a DC classic and I highly recommend it for household needs.”
“I didn't realize that vacuums weren't small appliances; so took awhile to find the 'real deal' - his name is Bill and he runs Hyattsville Vacuum Service with integrity and honesty.
Brought vacuum in for a 'diagnostic' and magic was performed and now my Bissel is back to a force of nature.
Small, dedicated businesses are rare these days, so a joy to discover!”
“This is a small neighborhood hardware store but they keep an impressive array of hardware, tools, paint, garden, and "lifestyle" items for most DIY projects. Where the big box stores are geared to accommodate contractors, Annie's aims for the individual and their residence. Staff is always friendly, the store is well staffed for their size so there's always someone available for questions or assistance. I really appreciate a hardware store that can still operate in the neighborhood without leveling 15 acres. Factoring in my time and general frustration with large box stores, the prices for a quick trip down the street are competitive with other options.”
“They are always helpful and very professional and knowledgeable about the different professions. It's far better than sitting in Harry Homeowner/ Home Depot for two hours to get a box of screws lol !”
“The level of customer service here is excellent. I have a retrofitted grooming van with all kinds of custom hoses and fittings. One of them broke and I had a major leak. I explained my problem to Mike and he was able to retrofit a toilet supply line, a hose barb, and clamps to create what I needed. He cut and fitted everything on the spot. I will be coming here for all my hardware needs in the future.”

“I've ordered a lot of welding supplies through the Airgas Hyattsville location for my welding class at University of Maryland, and they are the absolute easiest to work with. Bernie is not only a top notch employee, but also a great all around guy. He has always been able to help me with any questions I have and I'm so thankful for his service.”

“Over the past few years, I have been purchasing plants for my garden and yard. My vegetable harvest has been great. They didn't have much to choose from last year and I'm hoping they have more for sale this year. Headed there now.”
“This review is for the amazing kitchen design specialist named Yohannes who works at Home Depot College Park.
My parents needed to fully renovate their entire house, including the kitchen. I received attentive care and meticulous design support from Yohannes. He patiently listened to my goals and worked smartly with my budgetary constraints. In the end, we were able to transform an old tired-looking kitchen into a masterpiece of pride and joy for my parents. See pictures of completed kitchen.
Thank you, Yohannes! Your professionalism and expertise are what make Home Depot such a great place!”
“This is the best Home Depot to visit. Good Customer Service.
Very clean store. They are willing to help you and load up your truck with supplies. I will visit again.”
“I went to this Home Depot yesterday to find a metal, NOT plastic, flat dustpan. After finding the dustpan, I noticed they had a ton of these Fill Stick Wood Repair Paint Pens, all kinds. While realizing all the choices I had, I must have looked undecided and confused ( which I was), a kind perceptive employee noticed that I looked lost( which I was also). I had chosen the two Filler Pens I needed, but was trying to return a third un- needed pen to it's proper shelf. I couldn't find where I had found it. I imagine the employees watch customers trying to replace their unwanted items in their proper location all the time! Anyway, this young man, Carlton, came to help me as a courteous gesture, and I am grateful for this conscientious Home Depot employee. He said don't worry, I will find the spot where it belongs. Thank you, CARLTON!!!
I always find what I need in this Home Depot, even people.”

I went their to get a key cut, then later programmed a smart key and the price was a way better than at a local locksmith or dealership.... It is pretty fast too. Thank you Mr. H!Have a good one!?2016 Scion tC owner”
“A fantastic place honestly, called to talk to them about fixing my dryer, though they didn’t have what I needed I thought I would have to buy a whole new dryer but speaking with the owner I was able to find out what part I needed (which was just the belt) and only needed to spend 8 dollars vs HUNDREDS for a new one. I love this store because even tho they may not have what you’re looking for they always put their customers and their customers pockets in mind”

Don't let the name confuse you - they don't just sell door closers (and dam, they have a lot of them) - they carry many security products and low voltage as well as locks.Mike, the sales rep was awesome and was willing to wait for me couple of minutes after closing as I needed an item (that non of the other suppliers in the DMV had in stock locally) to finish a job.Another big plus is that buying from them you support a local business.Thank you guys”

5700 Sunnyside Ave # F, Beltsville“I used to buy from them when they were located on Midcity Ave. 40 +/_ years ago. I was very pleased when I called the other day to enquire about a screw to use for attaching treated lumber to steel exterior deck framing. The person who answered was incredibly well versed on that particular very unusual application. Extremely helpful!”

4817 Lydell Rd, Hyattsville“I love this place! While I hate having the good folks who work here slave over my frequent piddling requests for a matching bolt or two (anyone recall the search for a metric equivalent to a #1 that was 2mm in length?) I always buy my bulk nut and bolt purchases here to compensate. THANK YOU!”
“Capitol Building Supply has very knowledgeable staff and they are usually helpful and pleasant to deal with. Haven't had a bad experience in the three months I have been dealing with them. They also have Avery good supply of needed tools and building supplies and conveniently located also. You will not regret adding this vendor to your list!”
“Easy place to unload, and super friendly staff. Showed up at 730 for 10 o'clock appointment. Expected to have to wait till appointment time. Pulled up to gate and stopped. Forklift driver saw me, and came over, asked if I knew where to go. As it was my first time delivering here I did not. He showed me where to park and said to take tarps and straps off and he would get me unloaded. I was in an out in less than an hour. Will definitely not mind delivering here again in the future.”

“Best customer service I have ever seen at a home depot! Made an online order and rushed over to pickup went to pick up but items weren't ready, which was understandable. Within 1 min of seaching the shelves we had workers helping us. Probably the best customer service I've ever seen big chain store. Kudos to the workers there!!!”

9950 Business Pkwy, Lanham“***Update*** David you are Awesome. Colony Hardware CO continues to go above and beyond. Again I had a tool issue and they didn't stop until they had answers. David did some great digging on a non-fixable issue with my router table and though he unfortunately did not have a brand resolution from the manufacturer for me but he made some great personal recommendations. I genuinely appreciate that though the issue was small (1/32 of an inch small to be exact) that he went as far as he could to get an answer for me and got back to me right away. That is a dedication to service you rarely find these days. Great company. Keep it up you guys and Thank you so much. *Original Post* My husband and I own a small business making custom wood furniture and anyone who has ever worked in this industry know full well how absolutely important your tools are to your living. I had a reoccurring malfunction on one of my tools and after calling the manufacturer over and over and even returning parts I was completely stumped. I called Colony Hardware CO because the manufacturer said they were the local repair center in my area. I spoke to Wes and we made a plan for me to bring in the entire tool system. It is days before Thanksgiving and 1500, an hour before they close. The entire repair team took me in and we trouble shot this thing until we all learned how to fix it which went far beyond closing time. They understood how important it was for me to have this back and get my builds back on track so they wouldn't give up until they found a solution. It is incredibly hard to find amazing people out there who not only do quality work but still find it in them to keep the human factor in what they do. Amazing work. Thank you”
