Attended one of the most Spiritually Transformative retreats in my life here, and Sandy Cove Facilities were The PERFECT backdrop I never even knew I needed (didn't even need to travel to Arizona or Bali!!) Heat Temperatures in the Upper 90s kept us from exploring more of the outdoors during our available downtimes but, nonetheless, will definitely be back if I can. Beautifully helpful and respectful young adults working the dining area as well.

Sandy cove is a perfect place for church camps. Me and my church went there for camp like youth camp and it so worth it! The food was amazing, service was great even though we were kinda loud half of the time at night , staff were nice, and everything and everyone was just amazing!! Really recommend this place for church campsss or retreats. I hope we can go here next time !

Rooms: Could stand to be updated however the property is a non-profit and operates on do atiins so the updates are dependent on that.
Walkability: Be prepared to walk. From the perspective of a person without restrictions I was able to do it. I csnt say for those with physicL disabilities. I only recal 1 elevator.

This was my first time staying at Sandy Cove though I've known about it for decades. I was here for 3 days attending a leadership retreat for my church. The Sandy Cove staff are friendly, warm, and professional. During my stay, the area got a lot of snow. The Sandy Cove grounds crew did a great job clearing the snow. The rooms have at least 3 beds which are comfortable. The conference rooms are nice. The food was not that good.

First time at Sandy Cove and it did not disappoint! What a lovely location. The facilities were beautiful! This would be an outstanding location for so many functions. Spacious, well laid out, fantastic kitchen facilities, clean restrooms and overall areas, and just a beautiful location.

Sandy Cove hosted a business networking event for us. The building was beautifully designed, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the conference room was gorgeous. It was a full-house and there was a great view of the water. They also provided pastries and drinks that were delicious. We were truly blessed and are grateful for their hospitality.

It's a beautiful setting... just don't eat the mystery food.A retreat represents an escape from the crazy world we all exist in day-to-day and frequently offers participants workshops for self discovery or improvement, which this "escape" offered me.While not offering those who run this retreat center an excuse the group I was with visited in off season in the middle of the week. We apparently were the only people they had to feed and care for. That being said the never warm food went from not very good to inedible, which was reflected by all the nearly full plates of food piled in the garbage cans. Our welcoming dinner featured peas (canned), cold Mac and Cheese, odd colored chicken legs and an unidentifiable sausage, which I chose because it looked better than the chicken legs. Dessert was an odd colored mini angel food cake, which was a good reason to skip dessert. Breakfast was some pretty awful eggs, sausage soaked in water and grease, and biscuits; I did find a banana that was fresh. Lunch well let's say that there were a lot of people throwing away food. One bite of the Asian Noodles was all I could take, no one was choosing the tilapia, and I skipped the baked beans. The rice was ok once I added hot sauce. I made a really stupid mistake in trying like warm gumbo whose vile taste stayed in my mouth for more than an hour (only one spoonful). They put out some "turkey patties" I chose one and my friend said "what smells so burnt" as I sat down with my plate. Well it was the turkey pattie, which tasted like the burnt bottom of a cast iron pan not that I have ever tried that for a meal.I am writing this before the dinner offering but I already know that I will be going away from Sandy Cove for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow (Good Morning Mexican at night and incredible crab for lunch both restaurants minutes away from the Sandy Cove dining area offering a true contrast between delicious food and inedible stuff.). Although we are all laughing that we want to see what is put out for people to try tonight. I did see some bagels this morning so breakfast tomorrow will be bagels and coffee before the conference ends. Did I mention this is a beautiful retreat center with an amazing view of the bay? The space that our group used for workshops worked ... nothing special. The opportunity to walk outside, breathe in fresh air, and enjoy the view was special. The room was accommodating although the TV remote didn't work (I really didn't come here to watch TV).Just DO NOT EAT THE FOOD ... especially the pinkish meat-like item on the salad bar that has bits of white mixed in with the pink. Not quite sure what it is but I would not advise anyone to try it. Those white specs I swear were moving. So, I will go home rested and satisfied with the workshops my group offered to me. I am going to go read outside along the bay and am looking forward to Mexican food at a real restaurant in town tonight and then lunch at a crab house tomorrow as I leave Sandy Cove.
