The vet and the assistant were kind and knowledgeable, taking good care of my cat. Prices were higher than I expected(maybe it is average in this town), and they recommend all the expensive vaccines. But they explained my options and asked permission before doing anything.

Very nice vet and support staff. Everyone was very helpful and very effective and efficient. Great team. My animals are in good hands. Thanks to the team, and especially for the great care given by the vet to my animal.

We just moved to the area and our dog fell down the steps of our new house and ripped up his paw. We called at 5:00 on a weekday and not only did they squeeze us in as new patients but gave us wonderful care and even stayed late to make sure he got everything fixed properly. Riley healed quickly and everyone there was kind and took great care of us! Also, it was very affordable and they were super transparent with costs, which although you hate to think about that with our fur-babies, is actually super important and helpful. Highly recommend! They will be our regular vet from now on, and I'm so glad we stumbled on them during our early-on emergency!

Love Love Love Hyattsville Animal Hospital… they care about your pet…they are affordable. And they do a great job with the overall health care of your animal.

they killed my poor baby. i had a dog that i took to the hospital today to get his nails and mats cut off, i asked them if they can put him to sleep so they can do it peacefully. i brought him in around 9 am. i called at 2:20 pm to ask how he was doing, they call me back around 3:05 saying that he had a cardiac arrest and isn’t likely that he’ll make it. sadly when i got there he was dead. they didn’t run tests to check if he was eligible to be put to sleep, they only checked after he was pronounced dead. this establishment isn’t professional.

Will they always be able to fit you in last minute? No. But you will get unbelievable care for your pets here, with so much compassion and love from everyone (receptionist/office manager, vet techs, and vets-- all softies!). Really really reasonable pricing with no upselling. Dr Kirkendall is my favorite vet of all time, and she has returned my calls at all hours because she CARES about her "babies."

Hyattsville animal hospital is incredible!The building may look a little old (don't let the looks fool you) but the care we've gotten from them for years has been since and beyond.Their prices are so much more affordable and everybody there genuinely cares so much for your pet.We started going there when we looked for a second opinion on our dog needing acl surgery and it turned out he was fine and we loved them so much better and have never left.Great places like this need our support, give them a shot you won't regret it!

Dr. Brittani is the best! We came to this practice on a friend's recommendation due to ongoing health issues with our dog. Dr. Brittani diagnosed him with allergies which resolved most of his issues. She is very gentle and patient and we really felt like she had all the time in the world to address our concerns.
