2 Prince St, Alexandria“This weekend I set out from Alexandria to bike to DC along the Mount Vernon trail. At the start of my ride my rear brake fell off and wedged itself against the rear tire, abruptly ending my weekend plan. Big Wheel Bikes was happy to help out and fixed it in a few minutes - free of charge. I was quickly back on my way and had a wonderful ride. Great people.”
“Look no further - If you have a bike - regardless of the brand - bring it here - I've had several fantastic experiences here - the staff is top notch. Their service is amazing. Highly suggest.”
“I'm not really a "bike guy," so when my bike stopped working, I took it to them. Super friendly, expert staff got me riding again. They did excellent work at an extremely reasonable price.”
“I had Matthew help me dial in a new fit at Conte’s Lexington. He did some precision foot beds.He was extremely informative and thorough on fitting and crafting my footbeds. ( my feet feel like a big comfortable hug now). He fussed about my writing position and my cleat location. I’m talking particular.?I have already recommended his talent to my cycling buddy. And strongly suggest Matt to dial-in your position on your bike, new, or old. He made it easier to go faster, with more confidence. You won’t be disappointed. Thanks Matt!”
“Helped set up my daughter with a rental bike for a great ride down the Capital Crescent Trail all the way out to Alexandria (and an easy Metro ride back with the bike). Fantastic, friendly service at a great price led to a really enjoyable day!”
“Exceptional service, excellent selection, and the knowledge of the staff makes coming here the best choice in DC. From Scott to Cameron to Emir the team here is the best in DC.”
“Eric is excellent. He was thorough, explained everything well, was friendly, with a smile the entire time. Well worth the $ and a small price to pay to keep your wheels in good shape! Thank you Eric.”
“This place is my go-to and I recommend it to everyone that asks. The shop is trustworthy and honest, and the folks that work there have never been condescending. The prices are reasonable and I appreciate the clear communication on my options for bike work and parts.”
“I’ve ate from the cafe here but my first time getting serviced for a dinged up bike was today and it was great. The owner Lori helped me get my bike out the car and Buddy finessed a miracle (he was so knowledgeable). I’d recommend to anyone for your bicycle needs. ??”
“I've come here twice for repairs, once after a fall, and once after my shifters stopped shifting. The services are affordable, and the staff is kind and talented.”
“Had a great experience buying a mountain bike at this location. They explained all the details of the suspension and drivetrain, walked me through suspension configuration and bike setup, made sure everything fit correctly, and walked me through setting up a flat kit to make sure I was taken care of.They answered all my questions and really took their time. I never felt rushed.I'll definitely be returning to this location for bikes and maintenance.”
“Best/nicest people around. Group rides out of here are welcoming and approachable (if you're clad in lycra and like pushing yourself a bit ?). 10/10, stop in and at least get an espresso and talk with the shopkeep.”
“I had the best experience at Conte’s tonight. I came in to drop my e-bike for service but Sam quickly diagnosed the issue, fixed it on the spot and showed me how to do the simple repair on my own in the future. Excellent customer service!”
“In a past life, I worked as a mechanic at 3 bike shops in the DC area, and 3 more in Colorado, so I have a pretty fair understanding of what makes a good bike shop from both sides of the counter. These guys are the real deal, in terms of taking care of your riding needs, and of treating you as you'd like to be treated. Top marks.”
“Two thumbs up for Velocity Bicycle Cooperative Del Ray location! A special shout out to Christian. He's a cycling wizard, very knowledgeable and friendly. Very fair prices and an very good selection of new and used cycling components and apparel. I highly recommend the Velocity Bicycle cooperative located in Del Ray.”

3119 Lee Hwy, Arlington“I've been getting my bikes serviced here for a few years now. Eric & the rest of the team always take great care of me, providing quality service in reasonable time frames. They always work with me to find affordable repair solutions rather than just pushing new bikes or prohibitively-expensive & unnecessary repairs like I've experienced at some other shops in the area.”

1100 King St, Alexandria“I’ve gone here a couple of times. Wants to get my tire tube replaced. And wants to get my daughters tire tube replaced and they also did an overall tuneup and fixed something that was wrong with the bike. Overall, very friendly people there are quick service and very affordable. I definitely want to get one of the BMC bikes there someday. I am saving up.”
“They're fantastic. I went in for an e-bike tune-up, and they determined I'd save money just getting a couple a-la-carte repairs.
I also asked if they could fix something that was probably impossible (the handlebars were too far away from the seat), and they suggested maybe switching out the handlebars for curved, Dutch style ones.
It feels like a brand new bike, and is so much more comfortable to ride.
Also there was a shop dog 10/10”

3403 M St NW, Washington“Responsive, friendly, professional. I have used Pro Shop on and off over more than 10 years, and they seem almost consistently to do well on most parameters relevant for cycling aficionados. This includes a great a deal of patience explaining and researching options for spare parts, and rarely (if ever) trying to up-sell. I’ll keep coming back.”
“As new cyclist to the Hyatsville neighborhood, I felt very welcome at Arrow Cycles. I was helped after getting a tune up by Chris D. one of the co-owners (in tandem with Chris M)! He helped with fiddly issues after the tune-up which other stores in my experience charge for the follow-up. So nice and now my Surly shifts like butter. Thanks so much and I'll be back!”
“Stopped by this place with folding bike questions and got amazing service on the spot! They made adjustments, taught me more intricate secrets of the bike, and advised on upgrades and other future adjustments and options for bags for touring. Both the owner and the mechanic were great! Highly recommend this shop!”

8307 Dixon Ave, Silver Spring“When I first moved over to NW DC I was calling around to shops that would loan me a bike bag for my flight to Miami. The team at silver cycles offered to rent me a bag and pack the bike for me. Since then I've been back a few times and every time I've been met with great service. This is really a neighborhood shop where you feel as though they are invested in your biking experience. I am now a regular customer.”
“We were staying at National Harbour and looking for something interesting to do and found Pedego Alexandria. We have bikes (pedal) at home and thought the idea would be fun to try an EV bike. Booked on line and setup the ride. We came over on time as booked and met Todd, he was very through in his explanations and set us going on our adventure. We rode from Alexandria south to Mount Vernon and then all the way north to Roosevelt Island and then back to the shop in Alexandria. A great ride, bikes performed great, a good comfortable ride (albeit trail bumpy in parts) on the trail and had a blast. If back in area again will do and have all ready recommended to people we know in the area.”
