I cannot recommend Mt. Airy Service Center enough!! Our 2017 Chevy had a few warnings pop up a few days before traveling. Admittedly Mt. Airy Service Center was not my first call… I called 2 dealerships, one with appointments booking over a week out, another didn’t pick up the phone. Third times the charm - I called the Mt Airy service center and spoke with Matt. He immediately got us in for an appointment, walked me through estimated costs and explained all recommended repairs without being pushy or trying to sell extra services. Knowing my husband is handy he offered suggestions for a few minor maintenances we could do on our own to save costs. I felt like they were genuine people who cared about getting you safely on the road versus just trying to make a buck. My car was repaired within 24 hours and back on the road thanks to these guys! Next time you need service or repairs, consider the smaller business, like Mt. Airy service center!!!

I was referred to Matt at Mt. Airy Service Center by a co-worker who has known him for years. I was skeptical as much like Home Improvement Contractors, Auto Mechanics are always straddled with an abundance of caution and mistrust. Trust must be earned.
Well, it didn't take long in this case. Matt was polite, personable, respectful and most importantly, HONEST. I told him about the laundry list of work deemed "necessary" from Heritage Mazda and he whittled it down to what was ACTUALLY needed. He explained everything in terms a layman would understand and when I told him I wanted to pay to have my Throttle Body cleaned, he told me it was not necessary at this time and would be a waste of money. WHAT?? I was floored. This was a first for me. I live in Columbia, it's a hike but how much more would it cost me to have local mechanics overcharge me? No Brainer!!
In ONE VISIT, Mt. Airy Service Center has earned my business moving forward! Kudos to Matt and his crew. P.S. I went to Matt prior to looking at their Google Reviews. I had no idea they were killing it with a 5.0. This is EXTREMELY hard to do and maintain, especially in Auto Mechanics. If you are at all on the fence, climb over it and get your butt down to Mt. Airy Service Center.

Finally, an honest shop! These guys demonstrate the philosophy: be fair and honest and the business will come to you. They are right. I have been somewhat neglecting maintenance due to lack of trust of shops, but now that I found these guys, I'll be back often. For example, among other things, I needed front and back brakes serviced. They actually talked me out of the front brakes for now, as they have more miles to serve. They would have been happy to do it, but it just makes sense to get the most milage out of them. I know this is not that unusual, except in my case the measurements were hovering near the spec limit and anyone else would have taken the money and run. Now I have a reason to come back and they are confident by thier work that I will come back to them. They do all the factory recommended checks and will be honest about what is really needed, given the condition of your car, vs the dealership which will reqire it. Not once, did I feel hustled, and I came into this skeptical. This is the place to go in Mount Airy.
Update: took my Durango there and am now falling in love with my truck again. Not only is it driving better, but I feel like I have someone on my side and keeping an older vehicle is not such a bad plan after all. I was debating trading it in. Not any more, I'm confident that I have a mechanic that will take care of my ride, not take me for a ride.

If you’re not a car person it’s always a little scary taking your vehicle somewhere to get fixed. This place treats you right though. I’ve had several cars go through their shop. They stand by their work, communicate great and are up front and open about costs. Rest assured, you are in good hands here!

I had the pleasure of speaking to the owner Matt and his customer service is absolutely comforting and professional. He listened to what I had to say and made sure to make me feel confident that choosing his business is the best decision. I have felt distrustful in other shops because I feel that they may take advantage of the lack of knowledge I have when it comes to cars, but Matt is clear and transparent about his services. He will not work on aspects of your car that are not necessary and he is not just selling you services in order to make himself a profit. He is honest, fair, and genuinely has the best interest in mind when he is helping his clients. With several mechanic shops available, it may be hard to decide which to chose. After reading these wonderful reviews about this business, your only choice should be Mt. Airy Service Center. :)

I have an F150 that's had some rather annoying issues. I have changed the oxygen sensor in it twice and had other mechanics refuse to work on it unless I pay them again for a third new oxygen sensor. Basically, I was wasting my money. Matt was understanding of that and didn't try to screw me over on something that I knew for fact wasn't the issue. Matt and his Ford specialist got down to the root of the problem and took the time to test the WORKING oxygen sensors and discovered it was a programming error. They didn't try to charge me unnecessarily and understood my frustration, and most importantly they weren't alarmist about it. If you want an honest mechanic and someone who's not there just to get rich off you take your vehicle here, and they will do right by you!

Our car broke down on our way home from vacation. Thankfully, the first call we made was to Mt. Airy Service Center. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The part was ordered and we were out within 3 hours. Kudos to Matt and Steven for being our "road angels"! All work was done very reasonably priced for an out of state traveller!
