My daughter has loved going to Mathnasium! They have helped catch her up on things she fell behind with during Covid learning, and greatly improved her confidence with math in general. We definitely recommend them to anyone looking for help for their kids.

Mathnasium has helped our daughter get caught up to where she needs to be at school level. They have wonderful and thoughtful instructors who really care. They have taught her strategies that she can take with her for the rest of math.

My child started Mathnasium in March of 2021 to provide a "boost" to the existing lessons at school. This program has exceeded my expectations in every way!My child is learning how to think about Math and the "why" behind each action. That concept makes math accessible AND makes it applicable to real life.It is SO much more than "follow this algorithm and get the right answer".The Director, Matt Heineck is an absolute gem. Fast forward from our initial consultation to present, he has been friendly, professional, communicative and kind every step of the way. He greets every student by name with a big, welcoming smile.Recently, my child became frustrated with the learning plan. I notified Matt and he not only answered my questions, but empowered my child to speak up.My child came home re-energized after speaking to Matt and said "I want to stay at Mathnasium!"Essentially, this was an important lesson in and of itself: "you can do hard things" and when things aren't working you "change the plan, not the goal".This is the hallmark of someone who genuinely cares about his students and is passionate about his work. The instructors are also fantastic and I can tell they really know my child (personality, work style, etc) when they provide updates. The facility is clean, it is FUN and there are always cool incentives for the kids.If Google would let me give this center 100 stars, I would. If you are on the fence about sending your child here, hop off that fence and sign up! You will not regret it!

Not sure why they still require masks considering almost every school district in Maryland doesn’t require them anymore. Secondly, not sure why their prices are so high for a child to receive one maybe two interactions from an instructor in a one hour session. Students have their hand raised for extended periods of time but the instructors have to follow the rotation instead of going to help a child. The The staff clearly groom parents to give this place 5 stars. I’d recommend utilizing the Frederick Mathnasium or hiring a private tutor before going here..that way your child will actually receive some assistance

Our 11th grade son was struggling with pre-calculus and his grade was steadily declining. By the time we got to the middle of the third quarter there were doubts he’d even pass the class. We walked into Mathnasium that first night just to get information and we were greeted with a very energetic, positive and professional person named Matt. He gave us a glimmer of hope where frustration and defeat had tried to take over. He gave our son a through evaluation shared the results promptly and joyfully walked me through the scheduling process on a somewhat complicated scheduling website. They were gracious when my son arrived a few minutes late and they stayed longer some days giving him a few mins of extra time if he needed it to ensure he understood the concepts learned or reviewed that day. His grades went fromQtr1=79Qtr 2=76Midterm exam =75Qtr 3= 63 (and feeling hopeless)ENTER MATHNASIUMQTR 4 = 70Final exam 81%Overall our time at Mathnasium proved to be extremely beneficial and we are so grateful!

My two daughters enrolled in the Mt. Airy Mathnasium program and they had a great experience. They were excited to attend the classes, learned a lot and actually had fun with math! The team and management are great with adapting to different ages, learning styles and communication with the parents. Highly recommend!

I really like the program at Mathnasium. Unlike traditional tutoring, they go back and rebuild the foundations while at the same time, working on current skillsets. My daughter is enthusiastic about going and her confidence has doubled. The staff is fun and super knowledgeable which makes it engaging to the kids !! Very worth the investment!!!

My son attended mathnasium for almost a year. He grew, learned, and gained so much confidence doing math. The staff are always kind, professional, and willing to listen to kids who have a lot to say. We highly recommend mathnasium for any child struggling in math or just needing extra support.

Mathnasium of Mount Airy has done wonders for my son. He came into the center in 5th grade, assessed at 3rd grade level, weak on multiplication facts and using his fingers for addition, avoiding any subtraction. Within 7 months, he has made tremendous progress, making math his area of strength and interest. The center is realistic and meets kids where they are. All instructors are patient and wonderful but the Director Matt Heineck is especially attentive, creating a flexible program for my son to maximize his success. Matt maintains frequent contact, makes great suggestions and knows my child's strengths and weaknesses better than I do. I highly recommend Mathnasium of Mount Airy.

Both of my kids (3rd and 6th grades) had a fabulous experience at Mathnasium. After switching from a Montessori school back into the regular public school system during the pandemic and "virtual school," we noticed a gap in their math skills. The staff was very understanding of the situation, welcomed them with open arms, and provided a positive experience with a great learning atmosphere. The rewards/incentive program kept them very engaged, and when our contract was up, they were actually sad to leave! They both have A's in math and a solid foundation in a variety of math skills that will help them succeed as they continue with their education.

Scheduling is flexible If you need to refresh your math skills, learn new ones, help with homework, whatever it is, Mathnasium is the place to go.

Mathnasium has been absolutely terrific for both my son and daughter. I find it amazing that a 16-year-old and 14 year old would actually look forward to going to math sessions! Their confidence and skills have improved remarkably in a short amount of time, and my son's SAT score improved by over 200 points! The best part is their overall interest in math has increased as well, to the point my son began discussing the possibility of majoring in Accounting and my daughter initiates mental math games in the car. This is amazing considering at this time last year he wanted to major in anything that did not focus on math, and asking my daughter to do math practice was like pulling teeth. As a teacher myself, I wish every child could have the benefit of the routine practice, learning extensions, and overall enjoyment of math that Mathnasium offers.Thank you Mathnasium!

My son has been attending Mathnasium- Mt Airy since the start of October. We enrolled him to close some of the gaps that we saw after virtual learning. He is excited to go to the Mathnasium and I frequently find "Mathnasium rocks!" on his papers from school.

My middle schooler had some gaps in her foundation of math which led to difficulties in her grade level work. That led to a lack of confidence in any new concepts. In a quick time of attending Mathnasium, she advanced to where she needed to be, allowing her to get back on track! She went from dreading math to looking forward to learning brand new concepts because of her new solid base. The great communication from Matt and the staff is another component in our daughter's success. It's almost as if they were "on call" for our needs. Thankyou for changing her path's direction!
