this shop is the worst place I have ever attempted to do business with in in my life. The owner, a woman, I don’t recall her name was the nastiest, most demeaning person I have ever dealt with in my life. I called prior to coming up as I needed to purchase a scope for my new, 22 caliber rifle. When I called, I spoke with the gentleman that was evidently her brother, gave him all the specifications of my gun, told him what I was looking for, and if they were able to accommodate me and what is it that I needed to bring with me to accomplish this. there was never any mention whatsoever of bringing a plate and as I said, this is my first scope and I am new with this. When I got there, the brother was not there, but another boy waited on me and asked me where my plate was, in which I had no idea. I am new to this, and was not aware, and was not told anything about a plate from the guy I talked to prior on the phone.. We went over to the counter where the owner was and he pulled out a a scope to shoe me. The owner was beyond nasty. Besides, the nasty looking on her face and the attitude in her voice, she said to me, where is your plate, they come in the box with the gun. It’s in the bag with the instructions and the lock. I said it’s probably still in the box, that I had called before and asked what I needed to bring with me and she told me that he should not have had to tell me to bring the plate, that they assume their customers have enough sense to already know to bring the plate. That that is not something that you have to tell the customer to bring common sense should’ve told me to bring it. What a way to talk to a new customer that’s getting ready to spend money at your store. The most unhelpful nasty people I have ever dealt with. Clydes might be a little farther down the road but they are very helpful nice courteous, and never dome you when you don’t know something they explain things to you I would say take the extra drive to Clydes sports shop, The Gun Shack is disgusting in his treatment of customers

I got a small issue with my HQL process to where I wasn't able to recieve my firearm and submit my 77r form. The woman who works there was very help with my issue because maryland state police. They told me I would have to submit all my paperwork and payments again. I called the shop and they reassured me that my pistol will remain on hold until my applications are complete. Definitely will shop here again soon.

Service sucks. 1st I was told 1 price then when I returned got a different price. Store has gone straight to he!! due to what appears to be a change in staff that just don't seem to care. Won't go back.

I’d leave zero if I could. Don’t think I had to mention I had cash on me to get attention or help but I asked about one thing. Got told “we don’t have that” and then was ignored. I was ready to spend money on a decent item but I’m not coming back to even give a slight second chance. Garbage service. Zero selection. Sad excuse for a “gun store” or whatever you call it now. Sorry but not.

This is a Gunshop with much potential. People that work here are nice and have dark adopted eyes. Make sure you take a flashlight with you because the lighting is so poor that you won’t be able to see anything. I am very serious; take a flash light with you so that you find your way around the store. Also you will need it yo read the labels on items you may want to buy.

All you have to do is look at the 1 star review on Sept 21, 2013 review by Lew O. This will tell you exactly everything you need to know about this business. This is what Lew said "Awful customer service is exhibited by the fact that the latter employee (who called herself the owner) was so impatient with my confusion over the store's inconsistent advice that she turned her back on me and refused to continue explaining this discrepancy". "It takes some chutzpah to throw a hissy fit at a customer who's confused by the store's own inconsistency. The other owner was no better: he backed his irate colleague". Lew is spot on... This is exactly the same experience I had with these owners... One person there will tell you one thing and then another will do something totally different... And then... when I returned... and found out that they had screwed up... and tried to explain their inconsistency... and the female owner blamed ME. And then the brother owner in an email would not admit this screw up. Based on the 2013 review by Lew, over 10 years ago, and my recent experience... this appears to be a long term issue with these owners... You think that they would have read Lew's review and done something about it...but no... So I am warning you... they still have this problem. One person there will tell you one thing and then another will do something totally different... I will be taking my business elsewhere...

Disclosure: I love idiosyncratic privately owned shops where the proprietors know and love what they sell. This is a quintessential store of this type. A beginner archer, I was sent by experienced bow-sport people to this place. Tim steered me towards an excellent entry-level reflex bow and his staff took time to watch me shoot in their upstairs range to determine my optimal arrow length. My first day on the club range with my own kit was great, my accuracy and grouping were noticeably better. They have a reasonable range of excellent bow options that won’t overwhelm anyone taking up this great sport.
