“This is a decent grocery store — lowest prices on many items. Their freezer section isn’t huge, so they run out of my favorites: cauliflower and broccoli. The produce is okay, basics but not a huge amount of variety. Some of the Aldi’s favored brands are fine and some are not so great. Their hotdogs, greek yogurt, and chips are not up to what I’m expecting. The chicken breasts and salad stuff is fine, they have beverages and carry a lot of sugary brands but not as many Diet/Zero as they could. Their prices are usually lower than Walmart, and significantly less expensive than many of the other chain or single grocery stores. The store is clean and the staff is fine. They seem to be working all of the time. There’s only one register line here with several self check-outs. It doesn’t matter to me, I usually prefer self check out. I’d rather drive a couple extra miles to get stuff at Aldi, if I can. But if they don’t have what I need, Walmart and Weis are across the street. Aldi does have this kind of “junk aisle” where they sell lots of random stuff. Kind of addictive looking for stuff I don’t need. It is somehow better than Lidl and other similar set ups. It seems like a feature of Aldi’s appeal rather than just weird stuff. They do sell some brand name products: Coke and Doritos for example, but mostly they seem like house brands you never heard of before. Aldi was leading on the no-free-bags trend that is now legally required everywhere. I appreciate that. The lot is usually not too crowded, but it is on a bit of an incline; I haven’t a cart roll away yet.”
“Huge selection of natural foods and herbal teas. Nice clean store and great help. They also have a great selection of teas for your health. It's a regular once a month for me.”
“Looking to save money on your grocery bill? The Commissary at Ft. Meade is a great alternative to larger grocery stores with a variety of options for customers to choose from. The staff is friendly and responsive to needs. The Commissary offers a meat department with organic and vegan options, deli department with Boar’s Head brand meats and Sara Lee (low sodium) brands, fresh seafood display, pet supplies, and baby supplies. Convenient located off of highway 32.”

It is easily accessible, it has plenty of parking, it is very spacious inside, very clean, and everything that I want is always in stock. The employees are always very helpful and readily available.

They almost always have a deal on the sodas and different meats. They have an amazing little bakery and deli. They'll also customize cakes here as well. Great store.”

“Went here on a whim...b/c i didnt want to drive to ellicott city to get my shawarma fix....one downside is you may have to call to get ahold of someone at the front desk... it was empty when i went and the desk bell didnt help. Indoor and outdoor seating available. The shawarma is sooo much better than the one i got in EC (which tends towards a more tzaziki sauce)... the wings are on par with most bar wings (not a dealbreaker as they were still well portioned) and not overly fried. The fries are very well portioned and not too salty (yay!)... though the fries will not make great leftovers. Solid customer service. In a nutshell, try this place! Got this place bookmarked for later. Thanks!”

“Look carefully for organic lunch meat. It is at the end of the 1st aisle across from seafood. By the way, seafood prices are outrageous. I worked as a purveyor selling seafood wholesale to restaurants in the 1990s. Pacific wild salmon was considered pricey at 7 dollars per pound.”

“My first time ever shopping at a Lidl. In my area of NY there are Aldi. Lidl has the same kind of set up but, they have a bakery and flower section. Their croissants are BUTTERY DELICIOUSNESS and the cost can not be beat ($.49)!! I bought two dozen of them to take home with me. Prices are exceptional, not only in the bakery. Their specialty area really have some quality appliances at great prices. My next trip back to Maryland, I will make sure to bring back more of those croissants....lol”

“You can't go wrong with some of the great promotions at Lidls. Produce has been really good this last week the cherries were to die for. Their premium chocolate ice cream is by far one of the best out there for the price. Sometimes there are good promotions on baked goods and items that are 30% off. I bundle those together and make sure the clerk knows ahead of time that those are discounted items where sometimes Miss scanning the right label.”

“Cheapest gas in Prince George’s county north of Rt 4, and typically cheaper than Anne ARUNDEL stations along Rt 301.
Unfortunately they often have 1 or more pumps out of order and the hoses are too short, making difficult or impossible to fill if your tank is on the opposite side from the pumps.
But what the heck is wrong with the people using the pumps?? They form a ling snake line on the driveway, deep on time of day this line can be 20 minutes waiting with every car engine running. However the long line is exacerbated by a large number of people who won’t go into the queue until there’s a spot open at a pump.
Then they sit in their car for several minutes THEN get out walk up to the pump and fiddle with getting cards from the wallet. Sheesh how moronic!”
“Nothing but good things to say about this Food lion. Staff is helpful, product is great, and most of all NO self checkout! I love that they have real people working and checking us out and plenty of registers open! Keep it up Food lion! I stopped shopping everywhere else because of self checkout and no one ever available to help when I have 2 young kids. “I frequent Aldis for fresh produce and snacks at affordable prices. The produce is usually fresher than I see in larger national/ local chains. The store is clean and spacious, even when busy w/ customers. Suggest shopping there early in the mornings to avoid increase in shoppers”
“Kim chi, babaganoush, cottage cheese, the bulk and energy bar sections, etc are especially good during sales. Wish bulk walnuts, almonds, pumpkin seeds, pecans were sourced from vendors with SPROUTED options. Sprouting creates a super special spin on flavor profile.”
“I just want to review Optical Center at this location. In April Jesse helped me to find beautiful frames. He is so kind and knowledgeable. My glasses were ready in a week. Today I brought my son. “This is one of my favorite Dollar General 's!!!!!
... First things first, I moved here from Florida and the Dollar generals in Anne Arundel county and in Baltimore area are so so much better than the ones in Central Florida!
They seem to sell everything from quality bras and comfortable underwear. To medicines to name brand makeup to baby things to furniture, lamps to all name brand types of food, cereals, ice creams, great priced milk even almond milk!
In this particular one off Veterans highway in Millersville, MD. Everybody is always so nice and so helpful and they genuinely want you to save money and explain the quality of your savings If you download the app.
The only reason I haven't visited more often is because I'm a forgetful person and it's not right around the corner from you. Now that I've gone there a couple times to doordash and deliver for other people, I am definitely a true believer in this store and I even got the app.
You can get cash back! And I mean good cash back. For example, they'll tell you, you can earn $3 off Venus four pack razors and the razors will only be $6!!! Other full price convenient and grocery stores, they're I think somewhere from 12 to 16 bucks!! So in retrospect you're only paying $3 for these razors at any Dollar General ( at least for this week's special ? ) because they're giving you immediately another $3 to go spend in their store!!!!! It doesn't get much better than that ? but the nice and friendly and helpful employees really make it a thousand times better than any other discount store I can think of at this time! Or really any store. They definitely raise the bar for quality. Kind friendly, helpful customer service!
To clarify, I do not know anybody that works there. I have never worked here. I've only been in this store four times. This is truly how impressed I am with this store and this location particularly ?
I wish I could remember the name of the young man working Sunday June 23rd, 2024 evening to closing shift, at the register.... because he was terrific!!!! If Dollar general sees this and knows the person's name, please let me know so I can give them a shout out in this review because they gave terrific, joyful, efficient customer service. They were very knowledgeable and helpful about the app while still keeping up with a line and being the only person on the register! And doing all with a smile and genuinely and authentically seemed to love what they do and moved helping people which I think is fantastic!!”
