We stopped in and tasted some wine and the atmosphere was so relaxing and Barry was so nice. We hit it off right away and he surprised us by giving us a nice bottle of Malbec and invited us to drink it upstairs. Will definitely come again. Thanks Barry! We went upstairs and had some delicious steamed shrimp.

Went all the way here .....walked up mountains and me and my bestie couldn't go because they were closed. Google said they were open. Went upstairs to the tavern and had a blast though.

We visit Mchenry Maryland often and hadn’t had the chance to stop the Wine and words. Oh my, what a lovely place to visit. Great ambience, wine was delicious, plenty of books and the owner was the sweetest. I can’t wait till I go back! Make this place one of your stops when visiting the area! We sure will! What a great experience! I went in bc I had just finished a book and wanted another. The host was so nice showing me around and recommended two other wines which I love! The perfect place for a little afternoon joy in the winter or summer!

This is such a cute little stop while in the Deep Creek area! The owner, Barry, was the sweetest man who was very personable and charismatic. The wine we tasted was a bit out of our taste preference, but it was a lovely experience chatting with the store owner and playing a little wine game at a table. We made a game out of the wine trivia and were able to learn a lot about wines and had a blast laughing and enjoying the little shop! This place is a cute little must-stop! You have to stop by and enjoy the atmosphere and the conversation!!

This was a very odd place. Some in the group asked about tastings and were met with rudeness. There wasn't much there so we left and a friend in group said he called us names as we were leaving. It was weird because we spoke with them for like 30 seconds. Not a bookstore or a wine shop.
