“Buying a used vehicle is always a bit unnerving (to me). This is the 2nd used vehicle I have purchased from a Fitzgerald Dealership. The first was a long time ago when I bought a vehicle for my then teenage daughter. That Sonata went over 200K trouble free miles. This time it was for me a retirement gift to myself.

The short version is I worked with Herb Hardy and the words I would use to describe the transaction are honesty, integrity and doing the right thing! Work with Herb, you will have a great transaction.

Now for the details. First I am a believer in when things aren't exactly perfect you find out who you are doing business with. This was the case here. Herb brought the 2017 Jeep Wrangler Willy's up from Lexington Park to Rockville for me to look at it. I took it to my mechanic. This wasn't a reflection on Fitzgerald, it is just a prudent thing to do when buying any used vehicle. He found the vehicle was in good shape but had 1 minor issue and one larger issue. Herb became my advocate for getting the right thing done and both issues were taken care of to my satisfaction. No hassle, no argument, no arm twisting.

In the past my experience has been once you buy a vehicle, the salesman disappears and couldn't care less about you. This was not the case with Herb. He checked in to see how things were going. When one of the issues re-appeared and I needed to to take it to a different dealer out of state where the Jeep is garaged Herb said "Please have their service manager call our service manager".

The Jeep was a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO). The 2nd dealership worked on the issue under warranty. Under the CPO program there is a $100 deductible. I reached out to Herb and let him know that since this was not a new problem I felt that Fitzgerald should cover that.

He emailed me back immediately and said he agreed and would take it up with his management. About an hour later, he said "Send us the invoice". This is the "Do the right thing" that is so important to me. We all make mistakes. What we do to make them right is what matters. That is how I did business and that is how I expect people I do business with to treat me.

Fitzgerald handled this exactly as they should have. They made it right. I always chuckled when I would see Jack Fitzgerald on TV talking about "The Fitz Way". I don't chuckle anymore. Treat your customers right, hire good people (like Herb and the management team at Lex Park) and your customers will sing your praises.

I am having a blast with my new Jeep. If the issues had not been handled well, It certainly would have been a buzz kill.

So in short, do business with Fitzgerald, do business with Herb and I am confident you will have the same experience I did.

Called Tri County Glass and they were really nice over the phone, took my measurements down there and they had my replacement glass cut in 5 minutes at a very resealable price. “The most honest, well meaning mechanic I've ever been to and I will be a customer for life.

We had work done on my wife's car here. I brought in my own part and all they charged was labor for a very good price. Plus, they did not try to upsell me on anything, which alone is a win in my book!

But, shortly after leaving the shop, the splash guard fell off the wheel well on the front passenger side and wrapped around her tire! I call them, they tow the car within five minutes. After getting to the shop, they explain that their is no way it could have been their fault because they did not touch that part of the vehicle at all and even showed me all of the reasons why which I very much appreciated as someone that is not very mechanically inclined.

They then fixed the problem and even buffed out the scratches it caused! I went to try and pay them and they absolutely insisted that it was free, even though this all happened after their closing time.

Words cannot express how thankful I am to them for doing this. Please, give them your business. People this genuine deserve it!”
