Phenomenal service, great haircuts, and incredible prices. I just moved back to the DMV area and, after not touching my hair for a year and a half during COVID-19, was in dire need of a haircut. After browsing about on Yelp and Google, I stumbled upon this cute little shop and decided to give it a shot! I booked an appointment for Saturday morning with Theary, and I absolutely loved her. She's incredibly sweet, talented, and caring, and she made the entire experience an all-around delight. As the super indecisive and chronically unprepared person that I am, I wasn't entirely sure what hairstyle I wanted when I stepped into Ly's. But Theary was super kind and gave incredible input on what she thought would be best. I ended up chopping off about eight inches of hair (I originally had waist-length hair, and now it's slightly longer than shoulder-length) and got side bangs. She was also incredibly efficient; the whole thing (haircut, shampoo, blow-dry) was done in about 45 minutes. This place is also unbelievably cheap for the quality of service you receive. Everything cost me a mere $20, and I honestly don't think that I'll be able to go anywhere else for a haircut after this.

I'm new to the area and was in need of a trim. I came across Ly's on Yelp and was excited to try it out since it had good reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was not very pleasant, I booked my appointment and when I came in I was the only customer in the salon yet my appointment felt rush. I have short hair and just needed a trim but the stylist cut off more than I requested in addition she left my hair uneven and shorter on one side. I'm disappointed in the service and I won't be coming back.

I've gotten my hair cut by Theary both times and have been very happy with the results! Price is unbeatable for women's haircuts. I made an appointment both times and have been in and out within a half hour. Very convenient.

I'm new to the area and was in dire need of a haircut. I hadn't had one since way before COVID-19 was born. My neighbors recommended Theary at Ly's Cutting Edge, and I am so glad I booked my appointment! Everyone wears masks. Theary transformed my raggedy mop (shampoo and blow dry too) in 20 minutes. I left feeling fabulous and not broke. I will be returning!

This review is based on hair only! Years ago I got my nails done there, I wasn't satisfied but then again I have my own nail lady and that's probably why. But As for hair, Theary, is the best for me. She gets my hair just the right color blonde through highlights. I've been to many places and they just don't get it right or just use all bleach. She uses color also. My hair looks fabulous and feels fabulous when I'm done. A friend of mine who turned me onto her, and I were talking the other night. It's been a while since we've been there with the virus. I told her to go if she's looking for a color. Cause A while back I was thinking of going red, I went to the salon and met with Theary, and showed her four different colors I was interested in. She let me explain my case and at the end told me "I will not do it for you!" I said "what?" And she smiled and reminded me how I came to meet her, my hair was very dark brown I could not stand it I wanted my blonde hair back. It took us a few visits to get it back to the light blonde that I like without damaging my hair. She told me " you were not happy with dark hair, and if I get your hair to any of those red colors, and you don't like it it's gonna take a while to get back to your blonde". I thought it was so awesome that she remembered our first meeting, my friend thought it was awesome because she said you would've hated it red. It's just nice to have a hairstylist and a colorist too. Everyone can claim to be a colorist, but I've only found two that really knew what they were talking about. Sorry it's so long

This is by far the most affordable haircut I've got in the DMV. Thanks to Yelp reviews for allowing me to find Theary of Ly's Cutting Edge Hair Salon. She is truly a hidden gem. For my long hair, I was only charged $35 for this beautiful haircut including shampoo and blow dry. She listens to what I want and gives really good answers about hair care related questions. I felt good entrusting her my hair. She also gives away her personal phone number for easier appointment setup. She is very flexible and will do her best to accommodate you on your busy schedule. Once again, her name is Theary. She is the best.
