I went to my new appointment this morning, and the eye doctor who examined me was very professional and nice. She said it was a lab error. They gave me a plus instead of a minus. I'm not sure how that could happen because she said the prescription was correct. The eye tech was also pretty courteous and professional. So they're going to resend those eyeglasses to the lab again. I have to wait unfortunately until they're ready yet again and have to make another trip to pick them up. I have never experienced having the lab mess up like this with my eyeglasses I've purchased over the years. Hopefully, they will correct the issue, or I'll have to keep driving back until they do.

I had my vision checked at this location and I was very happy because people were very professional and courteous. The place was clean and organized and the wait time was short. My experience here was great.

No one ever answers the phone at this location. After I pick up my order, I will not be returning to this location. Every other location that I’ve called, answers but not this location.

I chose this location due to its proximity to my house, but my experience was disappointing. The staff member handling my glasses and benefits seemed unhelpful, suggesting expensive options without considering my preferences. Despite informing him of my $150 coverage, he provided an exorbitant quote. Dissatisfied, I went to Vision Works in Sterling, VA, where the staff efficiently explained my insurance coverage and worked to minimize my out-of-pocket expenses. Unlike the Laurel location, they ensured I left with contacts at no cost. The same lens that the staff quoted me for $200. Go figure. The passive attitude and inflated pricing at the Laurel branch left me dissatisfied, and I recommend seeking assistance from more attentive and helpful employees elsewhere. While the optometrist is pleasant and performs well, the floor staff lacks helpfulness.

This was by far the most appalling, unprofessional optometrist visit I’ve ever experienced and that’s saying a lot considering I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 2nd grade. The technician was unkempt, unprofessional, and his hands reeked and smelled like he had been digging places I won’t even care to share. It was so terrible that I had to do a double take to make sure it wasn’t something dead in the room. The odor on his hands was smelled during the initial eye puff test that he administered and thought it was okay to YELL for Greg to assist him because as he stated confidently “I don’t know what to do.” Nothing was sanitized and the technician thought it was acceptable to eat a cookie while he was entering my information in the tablet. Next, I had my exam with a doctor who had the poorest customer care and “chairside manner” ever. He rushed and wasn’t detailed nor do I trust that he was thorough because he did not mention basic things that are always covered in my usual annual exams. I will NEVER return to this location. Against my better judgement, I came here out of sheer convenience. It was made evident that if I want great service from VisionWorks, I will need to return to Herndon or Vienna. This PG County location SUCKS & deserves zero stars! I’ll tell anyone who is looking for a new eye doctor, never to come here!

The day I arrived for my appointment, everything was fine. I ordered my sunglasses. They took 2 and a half weeks to arrive and when I wore them, they had a rainbow effect that hurt my eyesight and the glass did not look at all like the lenses I had chosen. I went back to the optician to explain my discomfort and they told me that they were going to repair them. I'm almost a month old and they still haven't told me anything about when they will be ready and I have visited the establishment many times to ask if they are ready and they tell me no. Furthermore, the person who serves me is always a fat dark-haired man with dreadlocks on his head, he doesn't seem to care every time I arrive, he makes some gestures with a look that says he's already bored of seeing me, it's a great lack of respect to treat clients and he's not interested. Helping me only says they are not ready but does nothing to find out why they are not ready... I see very good comments but unfortunately my experience has not been the best and I am still waiting for my glasses..!! ???? I would never visit this place again.

What an experience! Waited almost over an hour seeing the manager carefully taking care of a customer, and when they came to us, rushed us in less than 5 minutes. They then tried charging us and getting us a receipt for something we haven't had to discuss or approve for, and then they promptly were never to be seen again. Couldn't get a name because they were too preoccupied ignoring and unfairly treating us.Then the other employee attending us was just as disrespectful. My mom who has an accent, but can speak fine English is being patronized by them, being laughed at saying "Do you understand what I'm saying?" as if she didn't immigrate here decades ago. I speak perfect English and start speaking in my mom's stead to help and they're still rude to me, openly sighing and acting childish. We wished we got the same treatment as the other customers and the other reviews but it seems like this location picks and chooses who to treat with respect. I usually never leave bad reviews but that's how badly we were treated coming out of this store.tldr; Not worth the headache, find any other VisionWorks!

Sorry for the long review but I have to share this. Dr. Barry Sapperstein at Store 504 Laurel, MD was superb! he was patient, very thorough, and knowledgeable. It was my first visit and he asked all the right questions and provided explanations that were very spot on. I was not rushed and all my concerns were addressed. I've used Visionworks before in Charlotte, NC so I have prior experience to compare. All doctors are not equal. I have type 2 and had been experiencing increased blurriness. I was expecting a bad report. However, I had not been eating properly the last few weeks and did not disclose this. He took photos of my eyes showing me the difference of diabetes in the eyes and healthy eyes and told me to take my phone and save the views. He assured me, my vision was blurry because when my sugar levels are increased, it will cause my vision to be slightly off. Also, I was also using store bought reading glasses. He advised they were only magnifying glasses and not helping. I needed a prescription. He had a gadget in the office that better determined the distance of how far I was sitting to my desktop and laptop. My previous doctor never advised to stop using the store bought reading glasses. However, I noticed I became more reliant on them and my vision was worsening. Dr. Sapperstein helped me so much yesterday. This doctor is A-mazing. Finally, I cannot leave the staff out. Within 10 minutes of being in the store, I was l laughing and felt like I was amongst family. They were personable and hilarious. I was not pushed to buy the most expensive items and I was helped throughout the process.

Visionworks has always been my go to place for glasses. From start to finish everyone was great. This year I had the pleasure of working with Tammie. Selecting frames that complement my face is usually challenging, but Tammie's expertise helped me find the perfect pair.

I had the great experience of going to Visionworks store number 504 on 11/6/23. I met a very efficient, professional and knowledgeable team. From the eye doctor to the assistants, I felt that my vision was in good care. And a special thank you to store manager, Tammi Carter, helpful and knowledgeable. She helped me pick the perfect pairs. Thank you all.
