Owner or employee smokes heavily inside store. Not doable with a mask on.

As a book collector and book seller, I can't think of a time when I disliked the bookstore so much. It is located in Laurel, MD and off the beaten track. Rows of books covered with dust and cob webs in the window look absolutely magical. But it is very deceiving. As soon as you open the door, the cigarette smoke hits you in the face. The owner sits in the back and glares at you with a scowl. No greeting. He smokes and stares. We are definitely not welcome. I picked up a book and it reaks of smoke. It is hugely overpriced. The owner tells me, "I normally don't let children in the store". Note, my 7 year old has been in the Antiquarian Book stores before. And those store were very welcoming. My kid loves books. I sell rare and old books and I never had any books damaged. The is no sign on the door about the kids. So I suspect he saw my child had disabilities and pretty much kicked us out. The store is filled with hate and books are choked with smoke. Don't go there. There are so many other places better.

Great selection of all varieties of books at good prices. I see earlier reviewers mentioned cigarette smoke. I'm an e - smoker and I didn't notice anything like that, so maybe the owner is an ex too! I picked up some science fiction, a history book and two mainstream novels, one from 1965 and another from 1928. Highly recommended.

Nice place on the corner in downtown Laurel. The gentleman behind the desk was quick to help me find exactly the author I was looking for. Although the particular books I came in for weren't available, he had me leaving the shop happy with a bag full of books from my author that I'd never even heard of

Good selection, and friendly owner. But smells horribly of smoke.
