Our family has been so so pleased with all of the training and support that we have received for Teddy our 5 month old lab. The 2 week puppy board and train session was amazing. We loved getting pictures and videos from Sarah, our trainer. She was so helpful and provided great resources and tips to continue our work with Teddy at home. I highly recommend AmericanK9 and Sarah. Since we got Teddy from Freedom Ranch Labs, located at AmericanK9, we received 6 puppy classes where Danny was also super helpful with Teddy. I love the one-on-one sessions so much. Because of the work that AmericanK9 has done with our family and Teddy. he is a wonderful addition to our family.

Natalie worked with my 3 year old German Shepherd Dog for the 3 week board and train program. During the intake Natalie took note of what we wanted our dog, Stormy to work on. I just had a baby and only adopted stormy a few months prior so I wanted her to learn just some general good manners. Natalie exceeded our expectations with Stormy by teaching her Sit, Down, place, heal, heal next to a stroller, and how to behave on a leash around other dogs. She also gave me to tools to continue to work with my dog outside of the facility (which is beautiful btw). These commands and tools have been invaluable. My dog is so well behaved and the training was worth every penny and more. I cannot recommend it and Natalie as a trainer enough.

A GREAT BIG thank you to the AmericanK9 staff, and especially Tabrina! On September 3, I made my way to Davidsonville, MD, to drop off my new English Mastiff puppy, Zeus. I did not know what to expect as I have never had a dog formally (boarded) trained. After parking in the lot (I arrived early), I took Zeus out of the truck so he could relieve himself when Zeus and I were met by Tabrina with one of the best welcomes anyone could ask for! The welcome was such that she had known us forever. This greeting did put my anxiety at ease. Tabrina, thank you so much for such a warm welcome; you will never know how you truly made me feel!
The training was excellent! Zeus was enrolled in the basic puppy course. Tabrina was Zeus’s trainer for the course, and she was in daily contact with me with updated texts, videos, and photos of Zeus’s progression with training. I highly recommend AmericanK9 training services, specifically for Tabrina, as her attention to detail and caring for Zeus are second to none. Keep up the good work, Tabrina! I will be back for more training real soon. Zeus is doing great!

So incredibly grateful for trainer Natalie at American k9. My almost 2 year old husky/shepherd mix, Benny, worked with Natalie for 3 weeks as part of the Board and Train program. We are SO happy with progress and improvement seen in just a few weeks! Benny is very high energy, smart but stubborn, and Natalie truly exceeded our expectations from start to finish. Everything was explained in detail, we followed along through a group chat where I was given updates about his training, and Natalie’s calm but assertive demeanor truly was a game changer. Highly highly recommend!!

Love working with Dawna to get our Irish Setter puppy accustomed to manners! They are super attentive and effective. We’re sending back our pup for a tune up and additional training. Has made our family enjoy our energetic bouncy pup so much more.

We couldn’t have been happier with the experience we had with American K9 and trainer Tabrina. She took such great care of our 3 month old puppy, loving her, training her and did an amazing job training us when we picked her up! My 11 year old daughter came with to pick Liv (our puppy) up and Tabrina was really patient and clear with explaining everything to us. The pictures Tabrima took throughout the two weeks are frame worthy! The videos were also super helpful. We are thinking of sending out 8 year old dog to K9 America just so she can keep up with our amazingly trained puppy Liv!

We first went to American K9 for our rottweiler was very fear aggressive and would snap at people who would approach him on walks. We had to muzzle him in public, and getting him to the vet was almost impossible. We tried everything and had almost given up. Our trainer, Danny, was amazing. Not only has he gained new confidence and is able to ignore distractions, but he actually walks up to people for pets now. He happily goes wherever we take him. He is like a whole new dog! We then returned to Danny with our new puppy, just to get him trained from day 1, and I must say it was 100% the best decision we have ever made. Danny is amazing, I highly recommend her!!

Danny is an amazing trainer! She worked with us and our 12 week old lab puppy. Danny has such a calm and collected presence and our pup loved her! Danny taught us and our puppy all the basics and after 6 weeks I felt so comfortable and confident in continuing our training at home. I would highly recommend Danny and AmericanK9 if you want not just a well behaved dog but also want to be engaged and involved in the training.

We had Natalie as our trainer for our golden retriever pup, Gus. He came home a changed man! We really appreciated the tutorial around redirecting pulling on leash. Natalie was very hands on with both Gus and training us!

We recently had the pleasure of working with Natalie once again from American K9 for off-leash training with our dog, Tucker. From the very beginning, Natalie impressed us with her professionalism, knowledge, and genuine love for dogs.
The training program was well-structured and tailored to Tucker’s specific needs and personality. Natalie took the time to understand Tucker’s behavior and our goals for the training. Her techniques were effective and humane, focusing on positive reinforcement and clear communication.
Throughout the training sessions, we saw remarkable improvements in Tucker’s obedience and confidence. He quickly learned to respond to commands, even in distracting environments. Being an active family, we recognized the importance of having a well-trained dog. After conducting thorough research, we came across American K9. Right from our initial interaction, we were confident that this was the ideal place for our little guy to undergo an in-house board and train program. Tucker spent numerous days and nights under the guidance of his trainer, Natalie. We greatly appreciated receiving videos of his training sessions, which clearly showed his enthusiasm and dedication. Upon picking Tucker up, he was eager to demonstrate all the new skills he had acquired. His progress was truly remarkable! Tucker now walks joyfully, responds promptly to commands, can maintain focus even in distracting environments, and thoroughly enjoys playing fetch. Although we encountered a minor issue with his door manners upon returning home, Natalie promptly provided us with valuable tips and tricks to address this behavior - and now Tucker excels in that aspect as well. We feel incredibly fortunate to have Natalie's ongoing support, and for that, we are truly grateful.

I brought my Frenchie here for a six week board and train when she was about 16 weeks old. Natalie was our trainer. I cannot say enough good things about my experience there. Natalie sent me updates daily, and soothed all my worries about leaving my tiny pup there. It's been a year now, and Natalie has been available to answer any questions I've had along the way. I recommend American K9 and especially Natalie to anyone looking for training and I would definitely use them again.

American K9 trained our Giant Schnauzer pup in private sessions & it was an amazing experience. Literally couldn’t have done any of it on our own, bc they use military/K9 tried & true methods, but adapt them for day to day life. They actually trained us more than the dog ? Cannot recommend this business enough! Our dog is 4 now & we still use the commands & training methods every day without thinking. We are still in touch with our trainer from time to time. Genuinely good & humble people who love animals.

We first came to American K9 with an extremely reactive, anxious rescue puppy, Louise. She would panic, fail to listen, and bowl over people who came to visit. We did a 3 week board and train with Trainer Sarah and were amazed at the difference.
Sarah gave us the tools to work with our dog and honed these skills on a follow up visit. My senior mother is now confident controlling Louise without our help. If there are any issues, Sarah is always available to chat about concerns and celebrate breakthroughs.
When it was time to introduce a puppy to our family, Sarah was there to give us a strategy for our existing dog and to teach the new puppy manners. American K9 has taken the stress out of our home by giving us a set of tools to work with our dogs so we can get the best out of them.
