I love coming to 3 Gear. Their selection is well curated, with latest hits, plus great merch (I’m particularly fond of the cantrip candles). Game room, events, and rpg nights have always been a ton of fun when I’ve gone. Also always given me great recommendations when I’m shopping for someone else.

Stopped in out of curiosity and a need for a simple card game to pass time with friends. I received exactly that and some pleasant conversation along the way. Looking to try their free introduction game nights soon.

Local small business that genuinely loves what they do. The owners are so nice and welcoming and had so many great recommendations on what games to play. Would 10000% come back again for another fun evening with friends and family. Also, their mascot is cinnamuffin is the cutest little thing ever. Thanks again 3 Gear Games for the fun evening!

I live over 30 mins away from this place and I still try to make frequent visits here. The community is what’s important to me. Due to recent chaos in my personal life, I haven’t been able to come as often. But I was able to get there recently and I was given a “gift” from the store owners due to some recent rule changes with an event they had and they realized I wasn’t given a chance to prepare for the event so they made sure I received a prize anyway. This really put a smile on my face and I thanked them for the surprise.Check out their Board Game Nights on Wednesdays and Saturdays!

This is a fantastic place. I greatly enjoy both the products that they sell, as well as their DMing.

I stopped by here on Thursday. The owners were very friendly (as was their dog)! They have a good range of games, RPG books, and items from local artists/crafters. A welcoming place, and ideal Friendly Local Gaming Store! I picked up a couple boardgames I had been looking for when I stopped in. The owners helped me find them, and when I had a list of what I was looking for, they were quickly able to tell me if they had it in stock, or would have to order it. (I had a list of 12 games, all of which were possible purchases that day).

I was passing through on the way back to northern Virginia from Baltimore, and figured I would stop by and check out the place. I was exhausted and generally not having a great time, but that immediately changed after walking in.I had a lovely chat with the staff present, got to see (and buy) some really interesting and gorgeous dice made by local artists, and fair prices across the board. The general stock was priced reasonably (especially compared to the shops near me around DC), and all the handmade and custom pieces were priced individually, considering the work that clearly went into them and properly supporting the local artists they work with.It was such a clearly supportive, pleasant, and fun environment that I am planning on driving the hour-long trip back soon, for the sole purpose of going here (and maybe even join in one of the one-shots they run.)

The very definition of a "Friendly Local Game Store". Lots of different products for casual and avid players of all ages, as well as a game room with lots of events weekly and seasonal for anyone to sign up for. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

This game store is the cutest! I have been twice in the past week and both times, the people who helped me were so knowledgeable and friendly. Lina (I think that's how you spell her name) helped me find the perfect game (canvas) for my friend who loves art but also has almost every game I could think of. I love the wide variety of games and expansion packs that they carry. The space is cozy and they had every game that I could think of. I ended up also buying Love Letter and Azul: Queen's Garden and both were priced on par of what online retailers and big box stores charge. I brought my board game group here and we just got so excited about all the games we have to play. This store encapsulates everything that I love about playing board games: the creativity required to create games, the friendliness of the community, and the joy of learning a new game. They also have a game room in the back that looked like a fun space for those interested in trialing some games before buying them. I love having and supporting local businesses and this is a great one that I hope will stick around for a long time.
