Tony was awesome during me and my husband's home buying process. We ran into a few hiccups at the end but Tony assisted us in making sure that everything went smooth and seamlessly and assuring that we got the keys to our beautiful new home. He was down to earth, friendly but also professional. I would definitely recommend Tony to anyone searching for a lender. He's our guy! We will definitely use him in the future when looking to buy our forever home. Thanks again Tony!!

I love dealing with this company. My rep was Tony and he’s very detailed. Tony helped me purchase my new home and now working with me to refinance. I appreciate how he works to make sure you get the best deal possible.

My experience with American Financial was great and dealing with Tony Cato made me feel appreciated. He kept me well informed and made my first time buying a house a smooth transaction. My family and I are so happy with our new home and it's all because of Tony's knowledge and great people skills that made our dreams come through.

MUST READ: The ABSOLUTE WORST home loan service providers, along with their unprofessional Loan Officer Kia, I have ever seen. Borderline PREDATORY LENDING practices here folks. The prospective buyer of my house opted to use them. They strung he (the buyer) and myself (the seller) along until 2 days prior to closing, only to say that he was denied the loan despite Kia having provided documentation to us at the time of the contract's inception stating how solid he was and how he was easily pre-approved. My movers...scheduled and deposit paid. My utilities...scheduled to be turned off. My leave at work...already approved and on the books. My entire house down to cooking utensils and under garments...packed. Certain furniture items...sold. My buyer, whom was relocating from across the country had even opted not to renew his apt's lease...homeless. Kia promised that they had to rework his loan and would be able to settle in an additional 21 days. Then moved to 26 days. Then moved to a week more. Then moved to two weeks more. Then moved again, and again, and again. This charade started on February 1, 2019 and was set to close on February 28, 2019. It is now April 30, 2019 and we were just told as of last week that the deal is now off altogether. Per the buyer and his agent, Kia and her team of investors raised the buyer's loan fees so high that they were over $10k BEYOND THE LEGAL LIMIT for the state of MD which means the total fees asked of the buyer at closing were sitting upwards of $20k+. And we haven't even added in the standard closing costs and his down payment yet ladies and gentleman. This is $20k+ in only lending fees! Kia would promise to call my agent back on a daily basis for months, only to duck and dodge calls. Kia would say that her email was inoperable when they finally reached her. She would literally yell and scream at my agents on the phone (and I heard some of the conversations on speaker phone) and even hang up on them. She would makeup random dates that the buyer's CD would be going out only to find out it never did. My agents told her countless times, as they literally begged her for an update, that the sale of my new home was contingent upon receiving accurate and updated information, and ultimately the closing, from my current home and that a failure to provide this information would surely result in my losing my newly built home. Kia's response on one occasion was "well there will be other homes for him to purchase" (talking about me). I have never heard something so cold and heartless in my life. The end result has been that very same plea of my agents come to fruition...I have lost my new home, as someone else now has a contract on it. I have also been literally living out of boxes since mid February. Tomorrow is May 1, 2019 and we have since started over. New buyer. Me looking for a new house. But NOTHING will stop me from letting the world know that Kia and American Financial DO NOT DESERVE YOUR BUSINESS!!!

Run from these people! They have no clue about mortgage processing and lending. Very POOR communication!
