Avoid. They do not care about your single order or your wedding. I tried for months to get them to do a proposal for my daughter's wedding and they were always too swamped to get to it. It was a decent size wedding in Georgetown-but obviously too small for them. Then a friend sent me an arrangement from there this week. The flowers were all over bloomed and the pricey arrangement was shot in 36 hours. They clearly used flowers leftover from another event. They used to be good years ago.

Just had Amaryllis do our daughter's wedding flower arrangements at a DC venue. They were extremely professional, creative and responsive. The "chuppah" they designed was elegant and exquisite. Rick is amazing and had ideas for the wedding dinner set-up beyond just the flowers. I wouldn't use anyone else.

There are hardly words to describe how amazing Amaryllis was! They brought my wedding vision to life and everything they put together turned out better than I imagined and even better than the already beautiful samples I saw leading up to my wedding. Let's start with the wonderful flowers that my guests have still been raving about and we got married weeks ago. They were full and luxurious from the smallest bouquet to the largest table centerpieces. They put together an amazing focal point bar and had chic lounge furniture next to the dance floor. The decor blew it out of the water! It was beyond anything I could have imagined. They were a pleasure to work with, kind, creative and actually listened to what my husband and I wanted. If you are looking for the best (and I was a very picky bride) go with amaryllis!!

Not even worth one star! The owner is nasty and rude. The staff are no better and no one could answer my questions.

Dont use them! They are rude and I was disappointed in their flowers. I had used them for my wedding a few years ago and they delivered rotting flowers that were the WRONG COLOR!!! (all white when I ordered multicolor). My bouquet had flowers that had brown edges, so I threw it and made them make me a new one! Especially for the price we paid for the flowers - I was SO disappointed. I had made them get new trucks of flowers out to my venue, but I was SO stressed. The staff that answers the phone are rude and several times would answer and then immediately hang up the phone. They also messed up some of the chuppah. I was told that the owners family member got hurt and that Rick was unavailable. I was so stressed since the photographer was about ready to take family pictures and they were still figuring out flowers! The truck came back and the staff were scrambling. I never got an apology from Rick, he knew us, we met with him several times, and knew what happened. I tried calling when I got back from my honeymoon, but he never returned my calls. I am happy that I have a chance on Yelp to write this. I usually give great reviews, but I am so angry at them!

My wife had seen flower arrangements made by Amaryllis and told me how much she loved them, so I decided to send her Amaryllis flowers for Valentine's Day. I sent an e-mail to the address found on the website, and explained that I have no knowledge of floral arrangements, but gave a price and the general impression I wanted the flowers to make. I promptly received a reply telling me that this would be easy to accomplish. I then wrote back asking if the flowers would be delivered at a reasonable time, since in each of the last two years the florists have delivered them to my wife's office after close of business. They guaranteed the flowers would arrive by 1pm. Not only were the flowers absolutely beautiful, but they arrived before 9am. Everyone in my wife's office praised the flowers, and it was clearly the best bouquet I've ever sent her. Yes, I spent a little bit more money to use Amaryllis, but the results were absolutely worth it. If it's a special occasion and you really want to make an impression with a bouquet, I would strongly consider hiring Amaryllis.

I just called there this morning to find out their hours. I'm getting married and I need a florist. I asked about their hours and the person on the phone had a serious attitude. I asked if they had Sunday hours he said no they are closed on Sunday so, I asked about Saturday he huffed and put me on hold then said in the background oh God! Then came back and told me Saturdays they have functions. He told me their week day hours but, I was so turned off I didn't care anymore. I will never go to this place. They were recommended by my venue. Does anyone know what customer service is anymore?

I booked Amaryllis for my wedding kind of on quick notice--like 2 weeks left. Going into my meeting with them, I knew that they were the "Best in town" and that for that alone I would be paying a premium. I was lucky to meet with Rick the owner and he dedicated an hour to our meeting which I appreciated. Looking back though I feel like I got juiced for what I ordered...all in season flowers and 4 mains centerpieces of tightly packed carnations. I hit a snafu with my venue which caused me to delay my "request" by a couple of days so Rick said" woops sorry now we have to charge you an extra $200 for a rush fee"....a rush fee for carnations? tulips? and roses???? Honestly, if you are lucky to have more time than I do, I would recommend doing more comparison. In retrospect I should have been more prepared for the premium. I would have given them a additional star if I didnt feel so juiced like when I explained to him that my HEAD table should have a more substantial centerpiece but instead I got small little vases with rose, tulip, and gerber daisy buds. Looked pretty---but not for the price. The head table was something I had specified to be special and was not delivered. One plus though is they created a very nice looking chuppah. I'm trying to be fair in this review....so I'll sum it by saying very pretty BUT overpriced. Wish I could post pictures so you could see what I got for the price. And I would tell them to chill back on such ridicuolous "rush fee" that other florists wouldnt impose. On that alone, I would never go back to them to plan my corporate or social events.
