There is an employee here that is opening envelopes that look fancy to check for money/gift cards to steal. On multiple occasions I have had my mail opened and a piece of tape has been used to close it back up. This normally occurs on envelopes that look like there might be a gift inside.My sister also had issues with this same office stealing money from cards sent for her wedding. An investigation needs to be had and this thief charged.

Looking at the reviews, it seems like the only reason anyone comments is out of frustration. And I understand their frustration because i've been coming to this post office for thirteen years now. However, I would say that in the last 8 to 9 months. The culture here has shifted greatly towards customer service and satisfaction. The employees they have now really do seem to care. And they treat us with dignity and respect. I feel much more like a customer than just work that walked in.Shout out to the leadership of the La Plata Post Office.

I know that mail gets put in the wrong box at times, but When you have a problem where it continues to happen, please be careful because Some people never give you your mail. Also I don't I want people knowing my business. I have had a new credit card disappear and had to close an account. So please be careful..Thank you in advance!

Worst experience ever. Calling to speak with anyone is impossible. Their rude when you finally get thru. Talk about professionalism. Hopefully their reading this and make the proper changes needed to make this place better , right now is a joke.

My wife went to drop off a few packages that we used pre-paid label service. We like to get receipts as proof of dropping the packages off incase there ever is an issue. The clerk told my wife she is wasting their time and next time would charge my wife a fee to drop off a package to get a receipt. We will not be going back. Never have had this issue anywhere else. That is ridiculous. Reading the reviews this entire staff needs to be replaced.

Giving them one star was being nice. We’ve had issues w/ this location for about 4 years since we moved into our new home. Not only issues w/ our personal mailbox but also issues w/ the PO Boxes!!! Someone at this location closed our HOA mailbox for months without our knowing. I’ve talked to several people who claim to be managers & supervisors. They are rude & they never got back to me re: the issues still. Highly dissatisfied especially with this being our LOCAL location.

The worker repeated the same warnings, sales pitch, and upgrades despite a line, wait times, and only sending a letter. This causes unnecessary delays. Another waste of taxpayer funds. Definitely not well managed. Avoid this place at all costs.

Worst Post Office I’ve been to in a long time. Some employees are more so worried about the time they get off, rather than helping you resolve an issue. I put in for a replacement lock and key on my mailbox over a month ago. Today I still DO NOT have my lock/key. In result of me not having my key, my mail is placed on hold meaning I need to go pick it up every day. So the first thing that the representative at the post office tells me is “Its out of my control, you’ll be waiting for a while”. The customer service at this place is equal to the trash that gets picked up by waste management during the week. And the sense of urgency to have peoples mailbox locked replaced is at an all time low. THEY DO NOT CARE, and make that very clear. I cannot wait until my key is ready so I don’t have to waste my time rushing to get my mail before the place closes. Completely inconvenient and unacceptable customer service.

Honest as usual it's a roll of the dice here.I have been when they didn't even have change to take cash and I've been in and out and Everything went fine. Guessing it's management as usual because the employees are fine and as helpful as possible.

Probably one of the worst post offices I encountered and will never go back again. Was given a scan sheet for my small 8 packages that only took 2 minutes to scan. When a customer or multiple customers hold up the line because they want everything done for them there. This is not a full service location. I would think in 2023 there would be self service kiosk. It seems now in 2023 they only service over the counter paying customers not online.I pay for all my packages and pay my taxes I should not get an unprofessional experience. This is the post office it's your job to scan packages if you don't like it find another job to do

This has to be the most useless post office in the country. It is a daily occurrence that my neighbors and I have to exchange mail items as these people are constantly delivering to the wrong address. I guess reading isn't their strong suit.
