Some of the rudest people I have ever encountered. One of their pharmacy staff literally cursed me out on the phone because they were "too busy". The same woman also hung up on me when I called to check on my vaccination appointment. I switched my prescriptions over to Harris Teeter, and I'll be switching my vaccines too as long as that witch works there.

I have been going to this pharmacy for over 10 years, and they have always been reliable and provided excellent service. Recently, they have all new employees working in the Pharmacy area and they are not only dishonest, but they are not very well trained for their job.Starting on November 1, 2022 they had me come back 5-6 times for a medication I have been on for more than 15 years giving me every excuse under the sun for why it wasn't ready. First it was that my Dr. did not call it in. Has never happened in the past and I know my Dr. is on top of these things. Then she claimed I just picked it up and it was too soon, even though she read the date of the last pick up and it was 6 weeks ago. After Dr. said he had indeed called it in, it was because he wrote my name slightly different than they had in the system(again he has done it this way for 10 years without incident), got that fixed and went in on and then they wanted to charge me the cash price. I asked why as it has always been covered and they told me it needed prior authorization and showed me that they had faxed my doctor. A week and a half passed with no indication that it was fixed, I called and they said it was ready to pick up. When my husband got there they tried AGAIN to charge me full cash price. I asked why and they said that the insurance company will not approve it and I just picked it up November 1st. RIDICULOUS.I called the next morning and the pharmacy tech back walked the pick up claim and was telling me the insurance will not cover it. They have tried putting it through several times and they are saying that "I can't have that many" or something ridiculous. I told them to PLEASE look into what they are doing on their end because I have an email from the insurance company approving the prior authorization from November 3 2022 to November 3 2023. She tells me it is not anything they are doing, it is the insurance and she will call them now to see if they will give me an "emergency override". Having worked for health insurance companies in the past I said that I do not need an emergency override, as I have not even picked up my usual APPROVED Rx yet. She said she would call them and get back to me. She calls me back 10 minutes later and tells me that the insurance company will not cover the medication, and they are going to require a prior authorization every month, and I will have to either pay cash, or pay with a discount card. I told her if that is what they told you I will take it up with the insurance company.Called the insurance company, told them what I was told at the pharmacy, and she said "That is ridiculous. There is no way we would have said that, it does not make sense" the insurance rep then put me on hold and called Safeway pharmacy. When she return to my phone call she informed me that the medication is ready for pickup and will be covered as indicated in the approval email. I asked what the issue was, and she told me that the PHARMACY STAFF was incorrectly typing that the RX was a 23 day instead of a 30 day supply. So it was their fault as I said from the beginning. They never called the insurance company and just made up an excuse as to why it was not covered. If it was not for the fact that I have experience with how the insurance business works, I would have had no choice but to believe them and I would be shelling out $258 a month instead of $10. Please fight for yourself when you know they are wrong. BEWARE.UPDATE:After going through hell every month picking up these same prescriptions(every month there was an issue as to why they could not fill it--my name was wrong, the doctor filled it out wrong(been the same for over 10 years, already picked up or not in stock after getting a text message saying it was ready) I spoke to one of the pharmacy technicians who told me the truth. The pharmacist in charge no longer felt "comfortable" filling my prescriptions that have been with this same pharmacy for a decade because my doctor was out of state. All of this lying, aggravation, and str

I have been a customer at this pharmacy for over 10 years, and they have always been wonderful. In the last year there has been a turnover to an entirely new staff and pharmacists. Since then I have had nothing but issues. Medications that I have been having filled there for the last decade are suddenly not covered by my insurance. I get lied to as to the reasons and it always turns out to be an error in the way the staff is entering it into the computer. Meanwhile they have me jumping through hoops to telling me I need prior authorizations, that my doctor did not sill it out correctly, or that my insurance will not cover it anymore and I have to pay out of pocket. All have been shown to be false after speaking to my insurance company. It seems like the pharmacist in charge now has some moral or ethical issues with some medications and she does everything possible to make those meds very difficult to be picked up. Not to mention that I never get notifications that my scripts are ready anymore. It is just a nightmare there.

As others have stated, this Safeway Pharmacy is absolutely terrible. First of all, I went there for my flu shot and was told that I would have to wait in line to "fill out paperwork" first. When I finally got to the front of the line, I was told I could go in and was never handed any paperwork. The woman that administered my flu shot was watching videos on her phone before AND while administering my injection. She did not ask me which arm I wanted the shot on and injected the shot into my tattoo.I was never given any proof of vaccination, which I needed for my place of employment. I went back to the pharmacy to get my proof of vaccination, and the paper they gave me was an incredibly blurry scan of my vaccination record. Because the image was so blurry, it got rejected and I had to come back for another copy. They just gave me an equally blurry copy, and when I requested a better, clearer image, the pharm tech just handed me a copy of the receipt of the flu shot itself, which is not what I asked for.I called them again explaining the situation and they immediately put me on hold. I have currently been on hold for over 45 minutes . The name of the administrator of my vaccine listed is CNICPS, and the MD in charge listed on my receipt is Winnie Mann, MD.Avoid this pharmacy at all costs!!! They are absolutely horrible and can't even do the bare minimum to help people.

My bottle of Adderall contained 15 EMPTY capsules out of 30. When I brought them back to the pharmacy, the pharmacist said, "we can't do anything about it". I paid $60 for half of my medication capsules to be empty. Absolutely insane.

The waiting room and patient room at the pharmacy were surprisingly dirty and unkept. The wait time, even with an appointment, was long and there were no others waiting. It’s not clear why they accept appointments online if they do not have staff to assist with vaccines. I was not given any record that I received the vaccines. It was a complete mystery today, not like other store pharmacies where I’ve received vaccines before…

Very frustrated with constant low inventory in popular categories particularly in breakfast sandwiches, coffee creamer, tater tots, kids yogurts, limited cuts of chicken. This is not related to Covid. It’s constant. The local Giant doesn’t face these shortages. It doesn’t make any sense and it’s everyday. (Because the employees tell me “wait until Monday”). It doesn’t matter the day. And it’s not even THaT busy. They need to pay attention to low inventory. I will be writing to corporate about this. It’s been ongoing and there is no excuse for it. Safeway is not the cheapest option so they need to reflect that in the service as it relates to inventory.

Craig in the Pharmacy is amazing. I just have to walk up to the counter and he pulls out our prescriptions even before we have to ask for them.
