Too bad zero stars aren’t an option. Left my vintage Magnavox components to be restored. Started calling after six months. Kept putting me off and off. After a year and several calls he now says it is ready. Show up only to find he lost the speakers. Tried to pawn some tired speakers off as mine. Showed him picture of what I gave him. Lie was written all over his face. He says he isn't responsible for equipment left over 90 days. I think he has so much stuff in there he doesn't know what belongs to who and that he sold my vintage speakers. No telling what condition the tuner or amplifier are in after being “restored”. He gave me money back after much argument, but I'm still out a couple of hundred bucks. I can’t believe this whole mess. Obviously my recommendation is don’t go to Doug. You will only be aggravated, disappointed and mad at yourself. I'll update this later with case numbers to BBB and Montgomery County Consumer Fraud.

I had a terrible experience with this business. The man is impudent and unprofessional (by the way he never introduced himself). He does not keep a proper track of orders, he accepts only cash or checks (so that no one can ever ask for their money back). He does not tell the truth, gives fake promises to fix the equipment, terrible at following up, and plays games. All he wants is to get $75.00 from you for evaluating your equipment. Once he realizes that he cannot fix your equipment and get more money from you (and he wants $250.00 - 275.00 for anything), he starts being rude and mean. He will tell you that he does not remember you, that he got too many orders, etc. Beware he does not have a computer and only gives you a small piece of paper that he fills out with his own hand as a proof that he got your equipment, The shop is a mess and so is the owner. He took my equipment and $75.00, kept it for months, did nothing, and after I called him to follow up, started being nasty. He said over the phone that he could not hear me, then that he could not understand me, then that he did not have my electronics, etc. After multiple calls, he finally admitted that he did not get parts (after telling me that they were not the way). He also said that he could not figure out the last two digits of my cell number to call me back although he did call me two weeks after I dropped off my stuff. (He really needs get a computer and maintain a database of customers). He wasted my time, money, and energy. I paid him money and he mistreated me on several occasions. Beware the man is really nasty and does not have any business standards or integrity. I would not trust or recommend this business to anyone.

He did not demonstrate the working equipment though and offered no warranty. Well, I received back exactly what I gave him, not working device. Wasted time, money, and energy. Stumbled upon this shop with wall to wall vintage TVs and radios. I mean it is packed, little room for customers inside. I saw repairman Doug at a work bench right at the entrance, he was repairing an old radio, using a soldering gun.Polite gentlemen who told me he does NOT sell new TVs. Nope he repairs the vintage stuff, the stuff that requires vacuum tubes and such. The stuff that is part furniture and part electronics. He told me many folks contact him by phone trying to obtain vacuum tubes and other parts to repair guitar amplifiers, TVs, radios and such. He has been in the biz for decades! He told me he has plenty of restoration work to keep him busy. Free parking in a busy lot, several businesses in this small shopping strip.? ?

A total scam, do not waste your time and money. My screen displayed red patches so I take it to Doug, pay $75 to hear it has beautiful images and it must be the DVD player. I bring the DVD player, pay another $75 to hear a week later that there is something wrong with it but he can't repair it, I should get a new one as they are pretty cheap. I get a new DVD player and guess what - the red patches are still there! There is nothing wrong with my DVD player, it's the screen. When I confronted Doug he said that something must have happened when I transported the screen back home! I asked him how did he determine that there was something wrong with the DVD and as an answer he said "I am trying to help you". So here I am 3 weeks later back to square one after spending time, $150 for nothing and getting a new DVD that thankfully I can return. And when I asked for at least part of the money back, I hear "I don't work for free, I am done with you". Well, apparently he didn't work at all, he did more harm than good, so money back seems very legit. He doesn't care, supposedly he has any clue about what he's doing Find a more respectable place.

The owner, Mr. Doug, is a delightful gentleman who appreciates in-person interactions.Re: his collection of VINTAGE TV CONSOLES & VINTAGE RADIOS, if someone could help connect him to local SET DESIGNERS, it would support his business!

August 2021We had an old console radio/record player sitting around here for decades. It never worked but was a lovely piece of furniture. Then my son suggested we visit Doug at Kensington Television Services. It took a few weeks but he totally rehabbed it so that it's perfect. We told him we didn't care about the radio, which he was having difficulties with. We only cared about the record player so we could play 1940's 78's. But he insisted that we paid for the whole thing and that was what he was going to give us. And he did. The radio sounds so good that I expect FDR to come on with a fire side chat! Doug is an old time craftsman who does the kind of work you don't much get anymore. Highly recommend.

Took a bad power panel in for some advice, and they pointed me in the right direction. Very friendly and customer-focused guy. Appreciate the service! Will definitely be back if/when I ever need a fix

Not worth your time. $50 assessment fee that you dont get back and never called to update me. 3 weeks later I come in the store and he says its going to cost me $250 to fix my ~$600 Samsung tv. Poor service, and a waste. I was referred to this shop from a co-worker but was greatly disappointed.
