Beautiful vintage artwork here! With every turn there was so much more to look at. Kensington has a street dedicated to antique retailers, consignors and upcyclists which goes by "Kensington Antique Row." More information can be viewed at: kensingtonantiquerow.com.

Love this place! Was in the neighborhood and saw the sign and decided to stop in. So many beautiful chandeliers, furniture, and paintings. I spent some time browsing. No photo can do the place justice. It was great talking to the owner who was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I let her know what I was looking for long-term by signing into a book. If she sees something that matches, she'll send a photo. I highly recommend!

I have been dropping into Design Emporium and Antiques from time to time for years, just to see what new curios they might have on offer. An amazing selection of paintings, antique glassware, furniture...baubles, bangles, and bright shining beads. lol The owner is very friendly, outgoing and extremely knowledgeable on the provenance and history of each item, and has offered to keep an eye out for any specific items that I might be interested in that they do not have in the shop. All in all a great experience, really like a friendly little museum or time machine with an amazing tour guide. Keep it up!

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon on a whim. I love spending my Sunday's in thrift stores and decided to stop here. When I walked in there was hand sanitizer to the right and a masked gorilla to the left. I was immediately greeted by Kristina, her daughter and the shop puppy. The shop is a feast for the eyes. There are beautiful chandeliers glistening above and gorgeous rugs on the ground. Kristina humored me by answering all my questions and even demonstrated the difference between Crystal and glass for me. I purchased a stunning gold chain link collar necklace for a more than reasonable, $15 and I can't wait to go back in a few weeks.

We wandered into Design Emporium when we were shopping for area rugs at the business next door. On a lark, we popped in to see what we could find. We found a great selection of unique pieces, a welcoming, low key atmosphere, excellent prices and great customer service! if you don't see what you are looking for be sure to ask. Kristina pointed us to unique, pieces that we are thrilled to add to our home even though we had initially walked right by them. If the piece you buy, or have at home could use a little face lift, they offer expert services as well. Highly recommend crossing over Connecticut Ave to this somewhat hidden treasure on Howard Ave!

I don't like antiques so I'm not sure why I stopped and went in--was driving by. Curiosity maybe. Maybe hoping something modern had slipped in. Not a chance for modern. Lots of old dusty things. Some nicely displayed. Not my cup of tea. Not addressed by anyone there. Maybe they were napping in the back? shrug

Business advertised a Thanksgiving weekend sale, was supposed to be open at 11am. We arrived at 12:45. Nobody there, doors locked, no information about why they would advertise as open and then be closed during their posted business hours. We drove an hour in DC traffic one way for nothing.

Wandering around Kensington Antiques Row, I ended up crossing to the other side of Connecticut and I am glad I did. This shop of antiques and curios has thousands of unusual glassware, objets d'art, and whimsical items. The proprietor, Kristina, was very welcoming and allowed me to explore the boutique while telling the stories behind each of the pieces.Dragons, monkeys, lions, oil paintings - I spent a couple of hours in this magical sanctuary, and was even offered a cup of tea. The prices run the gamut from the crystal chandeliers to the collection of walking canes. Just a fun place to explore.
