These guys are amazing! Our yard was a hot mess. We called around to a few contractors and settled on First Impressions. Dustin was knowledgeable and helpful. He answered all my questions, took charge of details that I had not thought of, and was incredibly responsive. Now our yard looks incredible! I would not have believed it was possible. A pleasure to work with every step of the way. Chris was quick to get multiple proposals to us, and was able to revise them based on our feedback. Jose ran the site the following week and made a few tweaks to the plan to get us the most bang for our buck and we we're very happy with the results.

We highly recommend First Impressions Hardscapes. Very professional and great communication. We had a dry stack retaining wall installed and we have no complaints. It is absolutely beautiful! They actually started the project earlier than quoted. The crew arrived everyday promptly at 7:15am and some days didn't leave until after 6pm. They even did an extra small job and completed it timely. We will definitely use again and recommend.

I highly recommend First Impression Hardscapes (FIH) because of their high degree of professionalism and work quality, and in-line costs. I worked with FIH in Spring 2023 to redo a smallish, enclosed rowhouse backyard (remove driveway, old fence, and shed, add a patio, add a fence) and am thoroughly impressed with the work for the following reasons:1) Professionalism. The FIH team was outstanding from design to the build. The design person, Dustin, listened to my goals and proposed a great recommendation for a tight space, and then worked through multiple revisions to nail it just right. Unlike some other contractors, Dustin made a rendering *before* I signed a contract so I could visualize what I would get. When the team showed up for the work, the site manager, Jose, was highly experienced, great to work with, incorporated design-changes on the fly in response to unexpected issues, and helped minimize disruprtions to neighbors. The broader team showed up on time every day and worked really hard to finish a fairly sizable project on-time. And it was not a small two person operation - there were at least 5 people on the project each day.2) Work Quality: FIH is the real deal - and the work did not cut corners. 2 weeks later, I am very happy the quality, starting the materials used. They use solid, high quality and attractive patio materails, quality wood for fencing, and hardware that seems like it will last (I.e. hinges, gate handles). They pay attention to detail and precisely cut stone, so it fits just right and looks good - and don't cut corners and just jam in squares/rectangles off the pallet. Second, they bring in real, professional, construction equipment to get the job done; it's not unloading gravel out of a pick-up truck, they use dump-trucks, bob-cats, and roll-off containers. It is a high-quality, serious, professional operation.3) Cost: I received 3 different estimates for my project, each was similar which makes me think there is just an industry rate. The price I was quoted also was what I paid at the end - there were no upcharges. FIH seems in line with other contractors, but given the professionalism, work quality and attention to detail, and speed - I had a great experience and would absolutely work with them again.Services: Stone landscaping

Had the group replace a gravel parking pad behind my home with permeable pavers - they took the lead in securing a DC city credit for the work and did an excellent job installing the pavers - very satisfied with the work. Price was very competitive with the other quotes we received.

First Impression Hardscapes is the best. They exceeded my expectations across the board.When I called to schedule an estimate the office staff was great responding to my needs. I was able to schedule an estimate with Chris Morgado he brought my vision to life. I was able to do my homework on this business and all was good. I just had a great feeling about this business and went with my intuition. The install team was great Jose' was the foreman of this crew and they were awesome. They worked hard and and got the job done before the date promised upon signing the contract. The owner (John)is very involved and cares and will do whatever it takes to make sure the customer is happy. If you are looking for a company that is reputable and does great work First Impression Hardscapes is the way to go for pavers. I would definitely hire this company and the crew again as I have more work to be done.Services: Grading & resloping

First Impressions has done two projects for us and we have been very happy with the results of both. They do really high quality work at a very reasonable price. They worked with us on the designs of both projects to figure out something that worked well for our property, was within our budget, and looked great. Our drainage issues have been solved and walkway and parking pad look great. I highly recommend them.Services: Yard grading

Excellent and professional work - First Impressions installed a blue stone patio for us that was about 24x17 in our back yard. We live in Maple Lawn MD. They did the work exactly how we wanted it. Very easy to work with and good communication. I would recommend them.

The paver crew was outstanding and did a fantastic job and I would highly recommend them. However, the fence crew job was below average and John, the project manager, lie left me with a disdain for First Impression Hardscapes. So, I would recommend their service only for paver work and tell you don’t count on First Impression Hardscapes to adhere to their warranty after the work is performed.

First Impression Hardscapes completed my backyard brick patio in 2015, and returned now in 2021 to complete a garden box using the same edging for my front yard. Both times the outcome has been fantastic.I would note the communication was better in 2015 than now in 2021, but demand for contracting work has exploded since COVID began which is an understandable reason. Overall, given their professionalism, focus on customer satisfaction, and most importantly the quality work, I would highly recommend them for a landscaping project.

Didn't have a good customer service experience with them. I called and they sent Dustin to come talk to us at our house and assess the work that we needed. He was actually pleasant while there and even gave useful suggestions. He said he would write up all the proposed projects we discussed and send us a quote. That was the last I ever heard from him! When I called the office 2 weeks after his visit to see if maybe he sent them the proposal, they said they have no knowledge of anything Dustin did and I should reach out to him directly. I called and texted him twice with no response. Very Unprofessional.

These guys are the best. My project took a while to come to fruition (all on me) as we worked through the design, budget and a global pandemic. Chris was great as we bounced around ideas, finalized the design and helped me navigate the rebate program from the county. When the crew showed up to begin the job I was amazed at how efficient they were. They were polite, showed up on time, did great work and were able to knock out this entire project in just 5.5 days. I could keep on going but the before and after pictures speak for themselves. I won’t hesitate to hire them from another job and neither should you. Highly recommend!
