“Probably one of the best human performance centers in northern Virginia as gems, like this are just not common. Unless you have access money to throw at the St. James or acquire a lifetime membership and travel up to Gaithersburg Maryland to get anything similar there’s just nothing like this. I just wanna point out that all of the equipment in this is immaculate. You don’t have to worry about bars that are worn out with no grip and just spin like skateboard ball bearings.The turf makes for one of the best multifunctional areas to do all sorts of work from speed, agility to strength, training, and power training . The gym is also very big and very wide as it used to be a basketball court and now it’s converted into this new human performance center. if you were lucky enough to be on Port Belvoir, I highly recommend checking out this place.”

“We have been using this location to rehearse for about a year. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. They put up with out loud music. Having access to a locker room is great as well. During the spring we go outside and grill on breaks.”

“I absolutely love this place!! Lele and Phil are great they are very personable and make you feel at home and comfortable. No matter your fitness level. The Trainers (Josh,Krista,Kamau and Nate) are all great and have different styles that all can enjoy! Its the best gym(I’ve gone to many) in the area affordable, great schedule, staff (Maria at the front desk always makes sure the place is decorated for all occasions ) and all members are all kind and fun to be around. I Love The Camp Alexandria !!!”

“I joined this gym since 2004 and I had not stop coming because I love the atmosphere very clean workers from desk to housekeeping personnel they greet you with respect and a smile and house keeping ladies are so attentive making the bathroom very clean with a smile and always say hi. most important thing is I'm getting the best workout ? that my body needs.i take all the classes and I love it especially all the instructors are awesome and very helpfull and encouraging! my faves are Caron Lindsey Marci as my personal trainer and Miriam Carole,and my Drishti yoga instructors Rachel Chandra and of course on special occasions Lori and Jeremy if they are in town....thank you again goldsgym in Lorton..my 2nd Home ? ?”
“As a property owner and resident, went there twice over the past week. Once to attend the New Years eve party and a 2nd time with my sister to use indoor pool. The party was well planned, well attended and enjoyable. The indoor pool was good. Lifeguard was polite and personable.One problem however is once we entered the building, we found out the elevator to get down to the pool was not made available to resident use. I spoke people in mgmt office about unavailability of elevator usr. Was told it's because it had "Priority Access". Residents pay for clubhouse use and we should be the priority.”
“Staff is very professional and always keeping the spaces cleaned. Management is always available to address any concerns about the facility or interactions with other members. The trainers are knowledgeable and well versed in techniques and form for exercises. They are always positive and supportive of their clients. This gym is small and is an express Anytime but it has what you need to get a good workout in whether it is cardio or resistance.”
“Graves Gym is the sixth gym I have went to and experienced since moving to the Washington DC area. Admission is free for active duty and dependents. They have sauna, steam room, cardio machines, free weights, attached weights, a climbing wall, free cycling classes, and low priced yoga classes there. There is 24/7 access inside the gym by scanning your military ID. Traffic seems to pick up around 3 PM on a weekday. The gym did not seem too crowded though. I noticed most of the gyms on base like this one are frequented by active duty soldiers more than spouses & dependents. If you have free access to these gyms on base and want to avoid unnecessary traffic, gas mileage fees, and paying for gym membership, this is the best plan to select. I never have to wait in line to use a cardio machine or attached weights. All the machines and equipment in this gym and other gyms are up to date. There is a 30 minute time limit on cardio equipment in the Graves Center. I think it is to ensure everyone has access to the cardio machines. By 3:38 PM, the gym traffic went down fast quickly, so I didn’t have any issues. Most of the cardio machines were unoccupied, and I usually do five or more miles on cardio machines at the gym. The Graves gym seems to have the most cardio machines among all the free gyms I have went to nearby, so I think this will be my go to place for working out regularly for cardio.”

“I have been going to this gym since 8/19/24 I have to say that this gym has a great environment. A lot of people mind their own business and I only heard the lunk alarm once on my second day at the gym. It’s definitely worth it to get the black card membership because of the hydromassage bed is amazing. Also the black card gets you into all the PF gyms everything which is a great thing, if you like to travel too.”

Clean, cool and people have good workout etiquette. Although aerobics room is bigger than let’s say Springfield’s, this gym has no punching bags. Springfield for comparison has 6 and Landmark la fitness has 2.
I’ll gladly come back here and update my review to 5 stars once we get some heavy bags. Thanks in advance”
“They installed new AC units. Classes are great. Nice inspiring teachers. Love Hatha yoga, Vinyasa yoga, Swimming, Zumba and Body pump. It's a pity the pool is closed for an entire month for maintenance.”

“I enjoy this spot. has everything one needs to workout. it's never really been packed when I go. I like the front classes room. it had a lot of newer hiit type equipment and space. there is never anyone in there except an occasional person doing a quick ab workout. hours are great for a base gym. front staff is always attentive. locker rooms are clean and big enough for what they are there for. tons of TVs in the cardio room to catch up on days events.”
