This little shop has a little bit of everything! It has a good selection of solids and modern fabrics. There was wool for petting and even good quality apparel fabric. The store was laid out nicely with like things grouped together.

The summer camp here is fantastic. My kid had a great time, and despite an ambitious schedule, every project came home finished. Wonderful place!

I just finished a leather bag making workshop here taught by Katie from Stitch & Rivet. The classroom space and class were amazing. The shop has such a wonderful selection of modern fabrics. I feel lucky to live close enough to visit in person, but I've found their shipping is also very quick.

I feel so lucky to have Three Little Birds right up the street from me! As a beginner, everyone there has been so helpful with pointing me in the right direction towards the materials I need for sewing projects. The fabric selection is out of this world - SO many unique patterns and a lot of really sophisticated fabric styles. They also have things for lots of other types of projects - knitting, embroidery, felting, etc.

I recently popped by this shop as I was on a nice walk with a family member and have had this store on my eye for awhile. I was so excited to look into the Sewing classes and see what they offered as far as supplies and classes. I stopped by maybe around noon and was absolutely amazed by the materials, the layout and great music. But I and my family member were UNIMPRESSED by the lack of response from the team members that worked there. We stood, waiting to be greeted or at least acknowledged by the team members that were so happily assisting other patrons and walking around. To make eye contact with a new customer and completely walk off is unacceptable. For women of color that may be looking to shop here. Maybe find another store that may be more welcoming and responsive to others. To management please do a better job at welcoming ALL patrons not just the ones that look like you. It's 2022.

This review is specifically about their summer camp. I had heard such great things about the store, the owner and their classes, and my daughter had gone to a sewing birthday party there probably 2-3 years ago and had a great time so I was really shocked at how bad the camp was. First, we were provided with a supply list and schedule of projects. We had the option of purchasing kits from the store for each of the projects, OR bringing our own things in. Since I sew myself and have a large stash of fabric and sewing supplies, I only ordered one pincushion kit (the first project) because it included pre-cut fabric and a special pincushion insert made from walnut shells, along with three patterns to be picked up on the first day of camp. What I expected: my order put together and ready to be brought home on the first day of camp. What I got: One pattern that had already been open, the owner frantically looking around for the other patterns and upon not finding them, a link to look at another pattern online. The kids also brought home the completed pincushion they did first day. The completed pin cushion that was brought home looked nothing like the kit, and was in fact made from scraps of fabric and poly-fill. If I had known that was to be the case, I would not have spent $9 on a special "kit". When asked about the pattern where I was only provided with a website link, I was told "don't worry, we'll make sure the kids get what they need".Day 2 of camp was to be tote bag making, per the schedule emailed to us ahead of time. Kids arrive and were told no, they're making pillows. Well, kids were sent with stuff to make totes because that's what the schedule indicated. Kids were told fine, you can make totes and were given a USED pattern, cut out by some other kid (poorly, I might add) with marker and pin holes all over it. Instructor told kid "here, I guess this is yours now". Kid came home and complained that instructor was very rude and impatient, and gave them this partial pattern. I looked at what was brought home and not only was the pattern used, it was missing pieces! The pattern was for three different variations of a bag, but what was brought home was a cut out piece for one. The next day, we arrived at camp and asked for a new, unused pattern with all pieces intact. Instructor very rudely said "no, they're all there" and WALKED AWAY. I was floored. We all know that kids can exaggerate when they feel like a teacher is being mean, but after that experience, it's very obvious this person hates children (and maybe all people?) and should not be teaching. After much back and forth, we were refunded for the used pattern and the pincushion "kit" so that was the only redeeming thing about the whole experience.I also found out later that the awful instructor was THE OWNER OF THE STORE! Who conducts business like that? It's really unbelievable. We found the camp disorganized and the whole experience was made worse by the fact that we went in thinking it was such a fantastic place. If you or your kid is an absolute beginner at machine sewing, I would look elsewhere for classes as this person does not have the patience to deal with people.

3LB is a sewing aficionado’s dream! Every time I go in there I spend way more than planned because their selection is absolutely beautiful! It’s impeccably curated. But the most special thing about this shop is what it provided our community during the early stages of the pandemic. Kate, the shop owner worked as quickly as possible to fulfill our mask making needs and even helped me source enough materials for my students. Totally recommend this shop if you’re looking for high quality unique fabrics!

Three Little Birds Sewing Co shop is a GEM in the neighborhood and I am so glad I found it after moving from VA. The owner, Kate, is especially helpful and patient whenever I have questions, or need pattern/fabric direction, which is often. Her Learn To Sew classes and Kids Summer Camp are very popular in the community and we’ll organized. (My kids are grown but my neighbors send their little ones who have a blast.)The fabrics are so beautiful and well curated that it’s hard to chose, and are of better quality than you see in the chain fabric shops. I like her kits too, (like the new underwear/bra kits and the fun class to go along with them.) And her pattern selection is drool-worthy. There are also fun and edgy gifts, candles, cards, jewelry, embroidery kits and sewing accessories.I’ve been to several of her events, including the Holiday Makers Event Mothers Day event and looking forward to the October Halloween event. They always provide food and beverages, (adult ones too) for free! Kate is a fantastic teacher and a true community leader.

I love Three Little Birds and Katie - it has been amazing watching her grow her store from a small 2nd floor shop & classroom into what it is now. Her eye for fabrics is fantastic, and the store is always stocked with everything you need to finish a project (and to tempt you into taking on new projects) and if you need it and it's not there, they will happily order it for you.Their class roster has something for everyone at all levels. I am so happy they are part of this community.

I drive all the way from Florida to this sewing shop because the selections are fantastic and the owner and associates are kind, funny and knowledgeabl. I would not be able to even sew a stitch let alone a bag or a baby dress without the owner of this shop. Three Little Birds saved me during the pandemic and gave me a place to order many patterns, brilliant fabrics and unique crafts to kill time. On too many occasions to count, the owner has saved my sanity. She is always a bright light, encouraging and enthusiastic. What a blessing this Boss Babe has been to not only the community--inviting artists in from around the country, hosting workshops for old and young alike all while beautifying the neighborhood--but to the sewing community as a whole. Take all the classes. Buy all the things. Sew like there's no tomorrow.

I hope to one day visit this store in person and if I lived close by I would definitely be spending my paycheck here. The inventory is amazing. Great quality items. I have bought both fabric and sewing tools that I love and use daily. The service has always been amazing and the items were shipped super fast.

My daughter attended summer camp here and came home asking to use her own money to buy a sewing machine. The camp was informative and gave her so many new skills to use. The instructor was easy to learn from and very helpful. My daughter loved every minute of camp and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I started buying in-store from 3LB before 2020, but in 2020 I fell in love with their online shop. As part of my mask making efforts I probably ordered hundreds of yards of different quilting prints and solids from them. Even in the height of the shutdowns when everyone was completely fried the staff of 3LB was always kind, accommodating, and had a great sense of community.
