I was a resident thier in 2018 under the leadership of major Greg Davis I’ll say this most of these comments on here about the behind the scenes hypocrisy is very accurate when I was thier it was based on who you kissed up to or what you volunteered for is how you got pretty much treated decently I am a seventh day Adventist meaning we view Saturday as the lords day however while in that program I attended Sunday mass as e specter however when I was off on Saturday I went to my home church same beliefs different days so out of spite major Davis his wife and me Ron decided to deliberately swtich my job so I have to work on Saturday in other words they tried to take my God given right a command from God to remeber the sabbath simply because they did not agree I didn’t understand what the issue was I showed up in church with them on Sunday as I was told I had to do i didnt request a job with Saturday off i beleive God did that mr Ron at the time did a prayer circular befre we went to work that was optional I attended at first but I began to feel he was just showboating bragging and standing in the place of god so I quietly refrained from going when he asked I said I just pray from my station as not to be disrespectful so out of spite he knew I went to my personal church on my off day so he went behind my bad and had me moved my chi he prepared a notarized letter about my faith and what I believed prepared scriptures supporting the face sconce Salvation Army is after all Christian faith based major Davis blieghtenly told me and my wife he’s willing to stand before god on the choice he made further more his wife ms Davis was very controlling during church service if we didn’t sing along with her husband who stood in the pulpit she would threaten to take our day passes to get to certain levels you have to attend thier church once or twice and was treated like scum when we get thier they would deliberately take the refreshments so we couldn’t have access to them refreshments our food stamps paid for I mean I’m not sure about other salvation armies but this one was all for major Greg Davis to receive glory and not God who would deliberately try to stop a person from worshiping in a day that they have no obligations to the center thier personal time with family mentors and spiritual friends because I don’t cater to thier ego ?

After giving a detailed list of my donations and answering their questions over the telephone, They came for the pick up and left a new IKEA bed frame in perfect condition, two good quality bookcases in great condition, a children's curio cabinet in great condition and two fabric storage cubes in excellent condition. I called to inquire why these items were left and was told "We do not have room to set up the bed " "It is at the driver's discretion as to what we pick up" and lastly, "ma'am I have a very expensive dump trash bill and I cannot take your trash." They even left a receipt with all these items listed. I will NEVER donate to Salvation Army again.

Just because I shop at a second hand store doesn't mean I want second hand service. This is a review after my second visit (the first one left me so flustered because the clothes weren't organized that I just walked out). This will be my last time attempting to shop here and that's for sure. First off, if you're not going for furniture (that you could probably buy from letgo for cheaper) or on their half off day (which is Wednesday) the prices are pretty high. Also the clothes are not separated by small, medium, or large. They do have a plus size section that I didn't see until the last 30 minutes of shopping because it's all the way in the back... and plus size starts at 12. After looking for almost an hour and trying items on in the store (and putting things back in hangers when I was finished) they wouldn't check me out because they closed the registers. Mind you the same staff talked to me 9 minutes earlier and didn't mention anything about that even possibly happening. When they saw me coming they just said I forgot I was there, even though someone had just talked to me and had been walking back and forth right where I was. I kindly informed them that I was just trying to make sure that I didn't leave the fitting room a mess, had I known the registers were going to close I could've checked out first then picked up but no one said anything. Going back to my regular spots.

Wednesday is 50% off clothes. This is also one of the best places to get good quality used furniture in the area. There are usually folks around who will deliver furniture for a reasonable fee too.

After making appointment with their truck ad waiting 2 weeks for it and after the confusion of who when and how calls on the phone to give a 3h window they finally arrived and refused to take a recliner used but clean and fully functioning. Because the driver decided that there are some nuances in the color between the armrests and the rest of the recliner. I did not see those differences. It is perfectly understandable that they do not accept garbage but this is not case here! They must have a better system and not just refuse willy-nilly items that were dedicated to them for weeks. People on the phone and in person - all make the same impression - they do not like what they are doing. Never using them again! Go to Goodwill.

Has a very nice looking from the outside but big questions of how and of some of things that go on behind the scenes I agree with most things but don't understand how these guys work almost for free they have to apply for Md foods stamps which goes directly to facility most of them work in the warehouse and stores and those who obtain outside employment has to leave with in 30days why is the Holy Karan not allowed inside building why if these guys need mental health u don't make sure they get their proper meds and how and why u don't have skilled drug counselors whom knows the long term effect drugs have the body and also why r y'all doing standardized testing instead of checking levels of drugs in system as all bodies don't clean themselves the same way. I watched someone take this program very seriously and felt good about themselves as a person to be thrown out in the cold at night and it was raining for what they claimed was a dirty but honestly was they were never fully clean we all know substances hide in your fatty tissue praying this guy does not go back to using after trying so hard in the program

I have never visited this store, this review is solely for their pick up services. On 8/2/18 I scheduled a pick up for 8/20/18 online. 4 bags of clothes and tall dresser and night stand. Indicated that the furniture was on the 2nd floor of my Townhouse. I received a (do not reply) confirmation email with no number to call or additional information. 8/20 happened to be the first day of school and as I was pulling away from my house to drop my daughter off at 7:30am they pull up behind me. No courtesy call to say they were on their way or anything. Told them I would call back and reschedule. Here's why they get 1 star. The rep on the other end was very nice and helpful, but told me that the drivers called him at 9am saying that there was no furniture outside, and that the customer canceled. I clearly indicated in the online form that items would NOT be left outside because #1 I'm expecting and can't lift/move anything and #2 it isn't allowed in my townhouse community. At that point rescheduling wasn't an option because they gave me another far out date, I will just have to pay someone to remove the items and donate the clothes locally in a designated drop off box. The gentleman on the phone did say that I was suppose to call the day before and it's actually better to call and schedule a pick up than doing it online because the system "acts funny". well what's the point of having that as an option then?? They need to do better. Will be posting this same review on other sites as well.

Large space filled with not only clothes and household items, but also nice FURNITURE! Tons of furniture like China closets, dining room tables, sofas, and chairs. My only gripe is the high pricing of these used items and bundles. I saw a really nice sofa table that I really loved, but could only be purchased as a set. I do not need a coffee table nor an end table. Being disappointed was an understatement.

I went to buy more teen and guy items for a holiday drive and omg these prices are ridiculous. Whoever handles pricing are out of touch with retail. *$29 for a cheap sequin dress by a no name designer? Really? I gave the store three stars for furniture, organization, cleanliness and 50% off on Wednesday.

Drove here to drop off our couch and they wouldn't accept it because it looked like we had a pet. So what, we had a dog, like any normal family. Used goods apparently aren't supposed to look used? Beggars shouldn't be choosers here. Disappointed in their pickiness.

Great place to buy furniture, art--tuesdays are like 50% off. Also, sometimes they have nice road bikes. I mine for 45 bucks--it was 60 with 25% discount.

We requested a donation pickup. They showed up and were very picky about what they would take. It was a rainy day but they wanted us to have stuff outside. We had a lot of furniture which we indicated in our request. They were rude and weren't helpful in explaining why they wouldn't take almost everything. We had several friends available to move furniture and we weren't moving it quickly enough. Then they told us they'd return the next day and they didn't. Overall they provided consistently poor service

This is the go-to spot for thrifting for furniture, clothing, and bric-a-brac. No other thrift store in the DMV area has this square footage to hold all of this stuff! Because they have such a large space, they're able to fit in a ton of furniture (15+ couches, 10+ entertainment centers, multiple pianos, etc), and it never feels too crowded. I never have to wait for a dressing room, parking is easy, and there are always a ton of great items to browse through. Their men's shoe selection is the only thing that's underwhelming. I highly recommend stopping by this location, even if it's far out the way for you.
