For all that is good, do NOT move here!
- Delivered packages are frequently stolen within minutes with no recourse. Kirkwood does nothing.
- Horrendous management. The Kirkwood staff is a revolving door and no one addresses your concerns. They’re usually out during their office hours. They don’t care.
- CRIME. There was a fatal shooting outside my apartment in the parking lot. Police cars were everywhere but Kirkwood said nothing about it. The many murders here go unreported. The police are always around, and gunshots at night are not uncommon. Violent gangs live here, with loud motorcycle races that go into the night/early morning.
- Rouge Ice cream trucks come here every day and blast their music illegally parked right outside the apartments.
- The community is full of DRUG addicts. In fact, this place is infested with drugs, from cocaine to weed.
- The water is filthy, unsafe for drinking and washing.
- There is NO parking. Past 9pm all spaces are taken, and then they tow you.
- Vandalism is rampant. They key, spray-paint and/or bang into your car.
This is one of the WORST apartments you could ever have the displeasure of staying in. It's a war zone. This place is horrific.

There are good and bad things to say about Kirkwood.
Good things:
1) It's affordable
2) There is a family-oriented feeling about the community
3) It's close to the metro
4) We get a prompt visit when a maintenance issue is sent in.
Bad things:
1) it seems like the reload machine for the laundry is always down
2) It's tough to find parking after around 8/9 pm
and the most significant issue of them all, the issue that solidified our decision to leave, is the
3) RAT AND ROACH INFESTATION. It isn't good! We have had pest control visits several times over the past year and have seen a decrease in the volume of roaches but not the rats. The apartment is riddled with holes! In one night, I caught 7 rats using rat traps, etc. Within a few weeks, the apartment was infested again! It's unbearable!
Consider the pros and cons, family needs, and budget; you'll know if Kirkwood is right for you. We tried to bear everything and focus on the good, but we didn't feel Kirkwood, given that we would have a newborn soon.

Thought about moving in and glad I didn’t! 2 minutes into touring an available unit I saw a rat! Not a good look and I couldn’t get out of there fast enough!

Y’all need to be ashamed of yourselves letting people with kids live in a rat infested apartment and not doing anything about it Is so inhumane. I wouldn’t advise anyone to live there from what I seen. Yolanda would you live in a rat infested apartment with your kids for 8 months?

This dump is a nightmare. Avoid moving here at all costs. Not only is this place heavily infested with mice rats to the point where they are repeatedly chewing holes in the walls, but they had the gull to penalize my friend when she left after her toddler picked one up thinking it was a toy. Outrageous! If they had an ounce of class, they would be profusely apologizing to her with a refund in hand for all of her troubles. Yuck.

The truth is that it is a very quiet place. We have been there for 6 years and we have had no problems. The office is very quick to respond to maintenance calls. Excellent staff

Another night of working for 12 hours just to come home and be part of the quite literally 20+ cars looking for a parking spot at 12am. Parked where I could and got a ticket in the morning before I could move my car. Don’t move here unless you never plan on leaving ur house after 9pm. They don’t care no matter how many people share hardships with them. They say there’s a towing truck but it only came for one day after they sent out an apartment wide “reminder”. It was good for a few days. You could actually find one (1) parking spot somewhere on a Thursday night. It went back to normal after 3 days. People sleeping in their cars. Or parking far far away. Not safe at all. Don’t rent here unless management says straight out their mouth they can guarantee u a parking spot every night. Record it for us too lol.

The Worst Experience in My Life!!!!!!
To make long story short, I lived in another state I went to this apartments website, talk to them on the phone applied for one of their apartments When applying, I put my cars information in the application when I got approved, I gave notice to my job, left my apartment left everything behind drove for almost 2 days to the state of Maryland. When I got there, moved to my apartment came back from Walmart and Could Not find a parking spot!!! I talked to the office the next day about the issue, but they couldn’t fix it so eventually I had to break the lease because not having a parking spot on daily bases was not acceptable for me and they knew that I had the car and I had put my car’s info in the application forms too!! And I asked for my refund back but they did not even refunded me in full(application fee…) And nobody even cared that I had driven for almost two days, left everything Behind, Lost my job, lost my apartment lost my state…!!!! I Drove back for almost 2 days to my state I’m still unemployed after more than a month now!!! I had some Savings in my account before moving to Kirkwood Apartments but now I am thousands of dollars in debt!! I kind of have a trauma from these apartments Now. these apartments made my life worst I could sue them so easily and win the case!!but just because I don’t want to leave bad memories somewhere behind I forgot about Suing them, my friends Still urge me To sue these apartments for not telling me about the parking spot issue before signing the lease about which they were completely aware!!!! I can’t imagine how people can easily scam you for their benefits?

1. Parking is really a problem. You should at least assign a dedicated parking place per suit number. It is really ridiculous to always worry about parking a car in an apartment that I pay for.
2. The towing company towed my car from a free space next to a parking area. It didn't block anyway(garbage or emergency vehicles), but they just want to make money. Okay, after that why do they say they only accept Cash or Cashapp? Is that because they do not want to pay tax or what?
3. My car’s window was shattered by thieves on Monday at 10 am in the parking lot. I think Kirkwood should install a camera around the apartments.
4. I do not know why the store of the maintenance crew is in the apartment. They bang the doors of the apartment and the loundarmate, and it is really disturbing to work or rest at home because of the frequent sound that comes when they open and close the doors. The building shakes when they do that. I am afraid that my TV circuit will stop because of the banging shock. So, at least move them out of there and give them a dedicated area/room/building, or attach some sponges or springs on the doors so that it doesn’t hardly bang and shake the building.

The board of housing need to SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN. It’s horrible to think that in 2024, humans are forced to live in horrible conditions. This place is INFESTED WITH VERMON; MICE. Mice carry horrible diseases and fleas that can infect humans. Needless to say… the property management company has NO REGARD, CONCERN OR CONSIDERATION for the tenants that are REQUIRED to still pay under such horrible conditions. There a special place in HELL for people with such DISREGARD to human life and the right to a healthy living environment. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!

Was thinking about moving here but these apartments are infested with rats and roaches. They dont take action when it comes to this issue. Dont live here
