“Another governance structure spot on Georgia Ave. Recently I went to purchase a couple of books from them when the author would be present for an event I was unable to attend. I was able to purchase the books and get them signed by that author! Great customer service and beautiful ambiance.”

“Had no idea this store existed (to be fair, I rarely venture to Eastern Market and had not been south of F St in years) but I am so happy it does. A great selection of books from every genre. Heavy focus on LGBTQ+ authors and stories but they don’t limit themselves to that at all. And the employees are very kind and helpful to boot.”

“I found this bookstore via their website. They are one of the few independent bookstores that actually allows you to order directly from them on their website (others redirect you to a book warehouse website that shares profits with the bookstore you shop at but takes some too). They only had one of three books I was looking for in stock, but allowed me to order the others. The books only took 2-3 days to all come in and I received notifications via my preferred contact option. It was so convenient and seamless!I went to the store on a Sunday to pick the books up. I was greeted immediately by a member of their team. She had my books ready and waiting. We talked about one of the books and others … which prompted my sister to start browsing and she found three books for herself ?. This is a lovely bookstore with a good selection, friendly staff, and was a great experience online and in store. I will be coming back for my future book needs!”

“A great local bookstore and cafe. Came on a Sunday right after opening and it was nice and warm (in a chilly day) a few people here which made for a really nice breakfast where I could read some books and drink tea. No downsides to this great shop. They had great music (soft) playing in the background and had great seating options lining the windows (lots of light and great for people watching) and At least ten tables for outdoor seating Highly recommend getting anything with the house made biscuits. I got to breakfast sandwich with bacon and it was overflowing with egg (yum)”

“Absolute knock-out bookstore. Always find nice surprises. They have bargain book section along with “new arrivals” section. They have well-curated selection of every section of subjects. Best bookstore in town. Fair prices.”

“Wow! What a great selection! A great spot for uncommon books (especially music, philosophy, literature, poetry,) many from smaller publishers. I would guess that anyone could find something of interest. Great atmosphere and music too.”

“Bought a neighborhood map of Seattle from their shop in the downtown DC Christmas market and it's now happily hanging in our kitchen. Given how picky we are about art and how long it takes us to get art up, that's saying a lot. The style and colors are perfect and it's a great way to remember other parts of our lives. My only complaint is that they don't have more maps to buy. As somebody who lives in the burbs of DC (I know, judge all you want), I had to pick between DC proper or past cities I'd lived in. It would be really cool to have maps of some of the closer in burbs.”

“La librairie est un véritable trésor pour les petits et les grands amateurs de livres. Le coin pour enfants avec des livres musicaux est une brillante idée. L'ambiance chaleureuse et accueillante, avec une table et chaises pour dessiner, a rendu notre visite encore plus mémorable pour mon fils. Une très bonne expérience pour toute la famille!”

“Bought some sandals at the Nordstrom in Tyson’s corner yesterday. The salesman Norvelle told me what he was wearing because I said he smelled amazing. Told me about this place and went immediately after! I only wished I lived in the area and not in another state! This place is theee bomb!!”

“I will say that I truly enjoy Kramers. The food is always good and the servers are pleasant. I'm not super big on Spicy but if you are, try the chicken and waffles with the Spicy Honey Butter. I should have asked for it on the side. It was too spicy for me. The Brussel Sprouts are my fav and the Bourbon Blueberry by Sal is so tasty. This is a great venue for the avid reader or a beautiful book date :-)”

“The best small used-and-new bookshop that I know of around here, as of April 2024 - thoughtful selections, helpful and truly pleasant ownership and staff, sections well-placed and well-organized (even the relatively obscure scholarly shelves). Pricing is more than fair (most stock is used). And it just feels good to be in there. Like old times.”

“Today I visited the Basilica of The National Shrine to look for gifts and to enjoy the beauty and serenity of this amazing temple. Of course I spent more time than I intended but it was well worth it. I found out that the gift shop opens at 9:00 am and closes at 5:00 pm. Between the shrine and the gift shop one can easily spend all day.”

“Review based solely on my online orders. I’ve purchased Al’Ard olive oil and a kuffiyeh. Shipping & delivery on the olive oil took a little long and it was routed incorrectly, but that isn’t on the store, but USPS. The keffiyeh was shipped & delivered so quickly after my purchase. The quality is beautiful. Will definitely check out their brick & mortar store, but I highly recommend their online store as well.”

“I love the Barnes & Noble bookstore. The young staffers were helpful, and the size of the store provides space for a wide variety of licensed merchandise. I would have appreciated more items branded with Howard University instead of Howard Bison. That's a personal preference. I'm sure they carry what the majority of their shoppers prefer.”

“The store is open ! It as a new owner and moved a block aways.Very friendly owner and helpful to .The stock is a bit less then the old store but it is normal due to the change of ownership just let them know what you need and they will get it for you.Just go visit them next time in the neighborhood”

“This is a really cool local bookstore that carries a wide variety of options. The staff were nice as well. I do wish they had wifi to connect to because I was trying to access my lists on Goodreads to narrow down my selection before purchasing.”

“This place is a good and quiet. Ground floor is 3 rd floor. Staff was very helpful. Was clean, plenty of computers for campus students to access. You can even digitize any book you might need. And transfer to you device.”

“This store is really very small but they do have a delightfully diverse stock of books — not every shelf is full, though. They have good public events, but the chairs they use for the public events are, bar none, the most uncomfortable chairs I've ever sat in. Get more books and better chairs!!!”
