Doctor Yogi was very thorough and knowledgeable. He took our concerns seriously and examined our dog with care. He explained the diagnosis and treatment plan clearly and answered our questions.

From scheduling to the actual visit - I didn’t feel rushed and I felt like both the Doc and the Tech were both extremely attentive to my primary concerns for Sora. They took extra care of her and helped recommend the best options that instilled confidence in myself as well. I plan to bring all of my dogs here from this point forward. Thank you again to everyone at Bethany, it truly was a pleasure.

I would never take another pet to Bethany Centennial Animal Hospital. One of their vets misdiagnosed a cyst on my dog's leg as benign and said it would go away by itself. Two months later after it had grown, I went back and was told that it was a Mast Cell Tumor snd most likely was malignant. Of course Dr. Heir called me and said they has told me earlier that couldn't be ruled out. That wasn't true. Had they been competent, I would've had Jubilee operated on immediately and perhaps saved her life. I did have the tumor removed but it was malignant. She died seven months later.

I have two Huskies that I regularly take to Bethany Centennial Animal Hospital. They always get excellent care. I expect to be a customer for many years.

We had deeply fustrating time at Bethany Centennial Animal Hospital. Our appointment there was at around 4:30 pm. Once we got in we were met with a very long wait time even though there were barely any people there including the staff. After a while we had to let the employee there and she finally got someone to give our dog Casper the shots and a physical examination. But then the Veteranarian came and began to lead Casper to the back for his check-up. We asked the Veteranarian, "can we come?," she said no we can't because she was apparently doing it somewhere else not a room because of the small amount of rooms and staff. She then hurried off before we could say anything else because we did not want to escalate the situation. After about 5 minutes she came back saying she had given Casper 2 shots and his, "short physical examination?" Nothing on Casper check-up ever said SHORT physical examination. Then she continued to charge us the full amount. We then told her that we were not back there and we did not know if she actually did anything. So then SHE OFFERS DO TO IT FOR 50%. And after a thorough conversation she went to go talk with her Manager and managed to give us the
examination for free which is what she should have done considering she did not let us come in to see what they were doing to our dog. Also on our check-up before they gave our dog the wrong shot, luckily nothing happened to our dog. But it was still unacceptable. Very bad experience would not reccomend to join that Vet if you value your pets precious life.

I love Bethany Centennial Animal Hospital! The staff always makes me feel like family. They care for me, as much as they have care for my animals.

Updated July 2024: As others have pointed out, the change in ownership has had a big impact. It seems the high turnover rate of the staff has really impacted the level of care. Current team in place seems very inexperienced. This office used to be open 7 days a week. Now it is open 4 days a week and I never see it busy. Although less important, prices are up. My thanks to Vivian for all her hard work.

Don't let the overall star rating fool you! It fooled me when we joined with this office. The reason this office has a decently high rating is due to all of the previous reviews from before the organization changed management. As I have recently learned, the practice management was switched over to a corporation. Since then, the practice has suffered in terms of the care of animals, customer service, transparency, reliable care, and staffing.
Bethany Centennial Animal Hospital has cost us much more than any other veterinary practice. If you are curious for yourself, call around to your other local vets. You will find that the same procedures, exams, etc., cost much less at other vets. I believe this is due to the management switch and the organization becoming more "corporate," finding ways to make more money. This animal hospital is notorious for recommending unnecessary tests and procedures in order to gain more financially. This is well-known in the community as I have learned after asking around. Additionally, they have quoted us incorrect amounts prior to procedures, and then provided us with a much higher bill after the procedure.
In terms of general admin and office abilities, expect long wait times. We have never gone in when our appointment time was scheduled for due to long wait times. Once you do get started, appointments take a long time as well, and it seems this is due to short staffing. You will also find their hours have fluctuated due to staffing issues as well, making them an unreliable office to trust for your pets needs.
Some of the staff members are kind and do genuinely care about animals, but unfortunately the primary vet at the office is not thorough in care, straightforward, or knowledgeable, contributing to many of these issues. If you expect to have a relationship where your vet remembers your animal or can at least read their chart and familiarize themselves with your animal's specific needs, you will be disappointed with Bethany Centennial. Going to this vet clinic feels like visiting a new vet every time.
In terms of the front desk staff, Vivien in particular is very unpleasant to work with. She is hostile in her approach, passive aggressive, and inconsistent in her discussions and thoughts. Her personality, demeanor, and ability to apply logic make her very difficult to work with, even if you have your facts straight.
We should have left this practice much sooner and regret staying for as long as we did. Please save yourself time, energy, and money by seeking veterinary care elsewhere. Ask around to multiple vet offices to compare prices and office availability. Read reviews and take note of the recent poor reviews versus the overall rating. I am sure Bethany Centennial Animal Hospital will reply to this review and deny these claims. This is expected given their dishonest nature. Alternatively, they might offer an apology and provide their phone number for a phone call as a calculated move to make them seem approachable and reasonable to you-- potential clients reading these reviews. However, this response is also dishonest, as they have already refused to discuss our concerns further.
I am not one to write reviews, but I felt strongly enough about how misled we have been by Bethany Centennial to post now. I hope this review can help prevent you from trusting this office with the care of your fur babies.

We've been taking our dog there for 2 years with Dr. Hier being his primary vet and we have had no complaints. However once he retired the clinic went down hill. We had a scheduled appointment where we had to wait an hour before our dog was actually seen. But on another instance we were 10 minutes late due to traffic and they refused to see our dog. We will never go back.

I recently had an unfortunate experience at Bethany Centennial Animal Hospital in Clarksville, MD, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment with others. Initially, I appreciated the transparency of the clinic in providing a treatment estimate via email. However, my positive impression quickly turned into frustration on the day of the procedure. To my surprise, the clinic increased the price for the treatment, catching me off guard and leaving me feeling deceived. The lack of communication about this sudden price change was disheartening, and I found the situation to be both unprofessional and inconsiderate. As a pet owner, it is essential for me to have trust in my veterinary care provider, and this incident has eroded that trust.

Love the staff here. Been taking my puppy since he was only 8 weeks. They have a separate isolated area too for animals that are sick to not infect others.

I was looking at past reviews and I can see why they had Dr. Shah join the team. It seems to me that their issue was being short staffed. I followed Dr. Shah from his previous place of employment (Glen Burnie Animal Hospital)... I will follow Dr. Shah wherever he goes... Yes, it sucks driving 45 minutes to get to this Vet from my house but soooooooo worth it. Since you don't know anything about me ... I love any animal and I do everything I can to help any animal but my in-home pets are my entire world... I have a kitty who is healthy, built like a horse and is strong as hell... I also have a 14 year old teacup, applehead Chihuahua. She is the reason I am so detailed on this review. I know there are other pet owners similar to me when it comes to their baby and reviews are EVERYTHING. My dog is hand fed piece by piece, carried around in a robe and even gets an umbrella held over her when it rains to drop the big ol rain drops from hitting her little head ... Pray for us because my husband and I are her biggest enablers and she knows we serve her every need and want and takes advantage of it... She has to get her anal glands "expressed/emptied" and you have a Vet expressed/emptied "internally" compared to a place like petco that can empty them by attempting to do it "externally" where they just squeeze each one from the outside of her booty but expressing them externally does not do it correctly. I have seen Dr. Shah once a month for the past 7 years now which is when I first moved here. I would do anything for this dog... I am the pickiest, aggressive, protective owner when it is in regards to anything that concerns my baby girl. She has had 3 teeth removed two times in the past and once was by Dr. Shah but she received a total mouth extraction by a referral directly from Dr. Shah. He didn't want do it due to the high risk with her being 14 years old, how small she is and because of the difficulty there would be to get one particular tooth out. I had never been so scared in my life like I was when she got her total tooth extraction done (occurred on my birthday 08/11/2023) but I had went through with it because of how much I trust and respect Dr. Shah's judgement/opinion. He has never "sugar coated" anything when it comes to my animals. The staff are great at Bethany Centennial Animal Hospital... little expensive but worth it. Highly recommend Dr. Shah for your Veterinarian but I don't have experience with any of the other vets at the location. Regardless, I think people who are reading these the older negative reviews should still give this place a chance because if they can make me happy, anyone should be happy lol.
