I did not come for actual mechanical work, but they were good to me and I always appreciate a decent person these days...
They got the job done in a timely manner, communication was thorough and expectations straight up before arrival. I was in & out much quicker than expected, In general, I'd say I was a satisfied customer who would both recommend & return again.

Bought a new engine at the end of 2020. Recently found out through investigation it was a re-manufactured engine and have had nothing but problems with it. I discussed with Dwayne and he says he can't remember back that far but assumed he would have told me it was re-manufactured. Even the receipt says "new engine". If I could go lower than 1 star I would have.Service: Engine repair

Bought a new engine in 2020 and have had nothing but issues since. Through investigation it was determined that the engine was not new but remanufactured. Unfortunately, Dwayne did not care and only said he's lucky I didn't charge us more labor after he tore it apart acting like he was looking for problems with it. Stay far away from this business.

Where do I start. Took my truck in on a Monday for a whining noise in the rear. Was told that it was the front differential, $1074.00 to fix it. They got one used from D&D with a 30 day warranty. Then I was told that my truck also needed inner& outer tie rods, pitman, idler arm, upper & lower control arms which would have been another 1200.00. I had the driver’s side control arm replaced 2yrs prior from a different garage, so I said ok to replace everything but the control arms. Picked my truck up that Friday after they were closed, and let me tell you that I now have a new noise, and the initial noise it went in with, is still there. I called them back the following week and told them. Took it back over there on Wednesday and took the mechanic for a ride. He proceeds to tell me that the noise is coming from my tires since they are slightly cupped, and to drive it they should flatten out. Well I got 4 new tires put on that Friday at Buchanan Trail Tire and needless to say the noises are still there. I took my truck for another alignment, due to getting 4 new tires put on at Stines Alignment and I asked him if my upper and lower control arms were bad. He said NO. So needless to say, Dwayne’s Shop was basically picking apart my truck (due to age of truck) saying that my truck needed all this extra stuff replaced (above my normal complaint) when really it didn’t. So I’m $3400.00 into it and it’s still not fixed. I will NEVER take my truck back to them and I DO NOT RECOMMEND them unless you want unnecessary repairs and like being ripped off! If I could give them 0 stars I WOULD! I hope they feel good about themselves ripping people off!!

After spending $2500.00, my truck is still not fixed. He assured me the noise was coming from the front differential. He got one from *** ******* ****, picked my truck apart (due to age) and said it needed numerous other things that didn’t pertain to original noise issue going in. Noise was coming from rear. Needless to say I have more noises now than what it went in with. Took it back to them, He told me it was the tires, because they were cupped a little. Told me to drive it and they should flatten out. Well I got 4 new tires put on 4 days after picking it up and noise is still there. I took it to another shop, and they said my noise is coming from the transfer case (bad bearing) and pass side rear brake area. So needless to say I won’t ever take my truck back to this place ever again. If I could give ZERO stars I would!

My experiences with Dwayne's Auto have been very good! I've got issues with my 2016 GMC Sierra truck. The guys are working to clear the issues that I can trust to anyone else... Not even Fitzgerald Chevrolet!While the problems with my truck are a work in process, I have nothing but praise for the guys working out of Hagerstown!

This is the best auto repair shop in Hagerstown. He is very honest about what's wrong with your vehicle and what is needed to fix it. He does not gouge hike his prices like corporate garages do, and if you need it fixed right, he is the guy to take it too!!!

I’ve had my Explorer to Dwayne’s twice in the last 3 months for various repairs. Most recently to diagnose and repair a noise in the front end that other garages couldn’t fix and to replace a busted radiator. The noise in the front axles is now gone. I don’t believe this vehicle had ever drove as good as it does now. Excellent job. I highly recommend them for your auto repair needs.Services: Steering & suspension repair
