Maria one of the owners seems to be a sweetheart. But unfortunately it seems they don't want any African-American stylist working in their salon. I have lived in Greenbelt since 2016. I have my senior cosmetologist license. And I've gone there multiple times to see if they were hiring. They always say they're going to get back to me and never do. I called today and they said they probably would not be hiring for the next two years. She said it was because business was slow. This would be ideal for me as I know people in the community and I could walk right across the street to work. I also can bring much business to her salon which she says is so slow. I told her I could create my own following. It's still a no. I feel discriminated against.

I had a very bad experience on Labor day. A lady's whose name is Mimi does not respect the time of customer. I scheduled an appointment with her a week ago and showed up on time then she told me she could not do my hair. I canceled every plan of my day for it. She said she should have called me but lost my phone number...unbelievable...I wish I knew in advance so I can plan my day. It is very poor and unprofessional service. Please treat your customer properly.

What a fabulous salon. Great ambiance, great professionals, friendly and happy staff. Not only that, but even great haircut and color! If you've tried many salons with no luck...try it. It's worth the drive from wherever you live.

I wish I could give zero stars. Everything about this was the worst haircut of my life. The entire thing was less than 5 minutes start to finish. I had extremely long hair that went past my rib cage. I asked her to cut 4ish inches since I hadn't had it cut in almost a year. She figured that since hair grows 1/2 inch a month I needed her to cut 6 inches. So I showed her exactly where I wanted it cut. I took my hair out of a braid (so it was wavy) and she sprayed it with a little water and I thought she was still kind of looking at the length in the back and next thing I know she hands me about 8 inches of hair and says "is that good?" No! It was way too much but there's no going back now! Then she has me stand up and she continues cutting, one handed. She never wet the front of my hair nor even brushed it out. She also didn't even acknowledge my face frame so now i just have random bits of hair in the front that are shorter than the rest but it's not really a frame because it's just a bunch of split ends that didn't get trimmed. When I got home I actually wet my hair and brushed it out and I have three distinct lengths across the back (probably corresponding to the three strands of the braid and the waves caused by it), all on a slight diagonal sloping down to the right. It took me longer to find a parking spot than it took her to destroy 3 years of hair growth. Now I have another appointment scheduled for tomorrow to cut even more off to even it out.

I have never made an appointment yet Maria is always accommodating. She is kind and always does a nice job. The price is also nice, it keeps me coming back.
