One word for this place what a rip off....

I frequently use Sterling Car Rental whenever getting any maintenance done to my car that requires it to be dropped off all day. They come right up to the dealership to pick me up and then drop me off back at the dealership after the work has been completed on my car. I've had the pleasure of interacting with Clarissa (I think that's here name) and Phyllis and both were extremely pleasant, friendly, and helpful. I was able to get on my way fairly quickly during pick up and drop off. Additionally, the cars I've rented have always been clean and in good condition. The one time I had to self-pay, the price was extremely reasonable. The only thing I'd change is that there is someone in the office who wears way too much cologne or perfume and that scent is very disruptive and caused me a headache. Other than that, I've had a great experience during each of my visits to this location to rent a car.

My car was at Bob Bell getting warranty work done! Although that was a nightmare, worst experience ever. Sterling and Ms Phyllis we’re awesome! Kind, friendly and all around great customer service! Wish I could say same thing about that dealership next door, but that’s another story! Great job Sterling! Kudos!

Phyliss was easy to deal with. Both times dropping my car off at Bob Bell Ford was met with an easy transition into a rental car through Sterling and even the drop off was quick and seamless. Phyliss has a great vibe bright and cheerful. Thanks

This is some kind of racket.. told bob bell ford I was going to rent from Avis and they called to sterling and sent me over there. Well of course sterling was in bob bells parking lot and my rental car had a bob bell front tag and dealer plates..lol. To make it worse the had to call my insurance company to verify my insurance and get my deductible etc. I rent cars all the time due to travel and never had this happen… I’m over 50 years old not a kid

I have rented 5 cars from this place in the last 6 months, every single time I'm rented a newer car, practically brand new and the customer service is phenomenal especially Phyllis she treats us like family!

If I could rate this place 0 stars I would. My car has been in the shop for 4 weeks now and within that 4 weeks I have received 2 faulty cars from your Glen Burnie location. They first put me in a Hyundai Sonata even tho I asked if I could have an SUV because thats what I am used to driving and they told me that they do not have any SUVs. I had the car for a little over a week when I got on the highway and got over 60 mph to find that the steering wheel shook and the seats vibrated. I called as soon as I got off the highway and I was told they didnt have any other cars for me to switch it for. I asked to speak with a manager and the guy said the manager was out that week and that he was the assistant manager and would call me when a car became available. When I was finally able to get another car I was once again given a Hyundai Sonata. This car had looked and smelled like it was not cleaned at all. In fact it smelled like straight cigarettes but the girl working swore that she didnt smell anything. I drove the car off and noticed that the tire pressure screen was on so I turned around and told the girl about the screen being on and she told me "if the tire pressure icon isnt on your good" which I said okay and left. When I got in the car to drive 2 days later the tire pressure light was now on. I immediately called on my way to work and spoke with the same girl who told me that my only option was to wait until the next day because they were closing and that they would be closed the following day because it was a Saturday. Frustrated to the max at this point I asked if there was anything she could do for me today and she said no. Once again I asked to speak to a manager and once again she replied with the same answer as the guy I spoke to before " the manager is out but im the assistant manager". I explained to her that I was very disappointed with how I was treated and unhappy with the fact that I was given a dirty car and she began to get loud with me and said "the car was clean when we gave it to you I looked at it. You said it smelled like cigarettes but I didnt smell anything". I told the girl that the car didnt even look like it had been washed and that there was pollen and bugs all over it and she said "Well it rained we cant help the weather. And as far as the other car you handed in they checked it and nothing was wrong with it. In fact we already have it rented to someone else.". We hung up and I got the tire filled with air because I had a 2.5 hour trip that I had to take the next day (which they all knew about and I was very clear about). The next day comes and so far everything is fine. I get on the highway and drive to Ocean CIty to go camping with my family. As soon as I get off the highway and im about to pull into the campground I start to hear a faint clicking. As soon as I pull into the campground the oil, engine, and battery icons all come on and the car shuts off. I turn the key off for a second and then turn it back on and it comes on long enough to drive almost to my campsite but completely breaks down before I get to it. Im now stuck in the campground waiting for my dad who was luckily there to come help me. He opened up the hood of the car and it was literally smoking so he had to push it to another spot that was not right in the middle of the road. Not to mention the fact that when we got the car moved there was oil everywhere. Since it was a Saturday I was unable to call sterling because they were closed. I am 6 months pregnant and for me to be treated the way I was treated by this place and to be given 2 faulty cars one of which broke down is completely unacceptable. Im beyond frustrated and angry with this company and how they handled things. I have told Hyundai that they need to rent me a car from a different company because I will never trust sterling again even if I am not paying for the rental. The customer service was terrible and the cars given to me were terrible and I honestly dont know how this company is still in business. This place doesnt ca

I have used this car rental agency several times while my cars have been serviced by Bob Bell. It is convenient to have the location a short walk from the dealership. I got my rental quickly and it was clean and in good repair. I was also able to drop my car off at the dealership when I wasn't able to get to the rental agency before closing. They may be a part of Bob Bell, but that just makes it more convenient. They already know when I am having warranty work done, and the rental is being covered.

I had to rent from sterling due to my Hyundai being put in service over at Bob Bell Hyundai. The whole experience was horrible. Not only did it take almost two months for my car to be done, which is on Hyundai. Sterling rental is charging me $54 for going through a toll that cost $4. I’m so glad I don’t live across the tunnel and had to take it everyday because at that point I’d be broke. $45 for administrative fee for going through a toll that cost $4?? Where was this in the contract, when the employee who dealt with my rental went over the contract that was never told. He did let me know any traffic tickets/ violations I would be held responsible which makes sense, but to go through a toll and be charged $54? You can forget that. I will never rent from them again. If I have to service my car I will take my business elsewhere. No wonder they have a 2 star rating. Greedy. Very unhappy please don’t waste your time here.

This company is a shadow company that works for Bob Bell Ford next door. They only have cheap cars, so if the dealer sent you here you will not get anything like what you had purchased. They tell you the rental is for 30 days but they force you to drive back multiple times with in that 30 day period to reconfirm your rental. The staff were not familiar with basic business processes, one agent said could do electronic renewal the other said they dont have a scanner or fax to be able to do it. I am sure Bob Bell next door has a scanner. When confronted the staff set about trying to prove how I was in the wrong and there is nothing they can do because while owned by the same parent company they are a separate company from Bob Bell Ford. Good luck if ever sent here, you will need it!

Needed to rent a car due to dealership error. Spent almost an hour with rental agent trying to verify insurance on my vehicle. Even though I work for the insurance company. Thank god Enterprise is around the corner.
