Five stars for the knowledge the staff gives. Customer service is lacking but I don't purchase and service guns at a place for their customer service.

I moved to MD in 2011 and left in 2023. I found several “gunsmiths” within a couple of hours drive of my place, but Scott’s was the only place where I actually felt comfortable leaving a firearm for work. While I am not a gunsmith the Army invested enough money in me that I can do pretty much perform any first or second level maintenance and even some third level depending on the weapon. I have a Beretta 950 Minx (22 short) that needed some serious attention. Scott took it and told me that even though they were a bit backed up he would get to it and it should be done in less than 30 days. She was absolutely smooth as glass when I got her back and the price was pretty fair. The entire staff there is very knowledgeable and more than willing to help you out with any problems you might have. Oh and as far as ammo goes I have found that he always seemed to have the best prices for the match grade .308 that I was looking for. Even if they didn’t carry the ammo I was looking for they were willing to give me a reference to find it at another shop. Not many shops will go that extra mile like that or send you to a competitor’s shop. A lot of the poor comments I have read seem to be from people who wanted their stuff done immediately and didn’t seem to care what work he had scheduled before them. Scott’s is like the standard gun stores I have utilized and if you aren’t willing to give respect, you won’t earn theirs. Even though I am out of the State I still drop by when I am in town to see what goodies he may have stashed in a corner. I would and have recommended this shop to everyone I knew while I was at AGC.Thanks Scott and wish you the best of luck always.

I was referred here by another store to get a minor issue fixed on a new gun. Took them 5 minutes, and when I asked "how much," they said, "No charge... but you could always buy some ammo." So I did.

Dropped my Rem 700 (to get threaded with a Break) and a couple AR’s off to Scott’s to get timed for my Suppressor. Work was done quickly, effectively, and affordably. Scott is a great and knowledgeable dude, so listen to what he has to say ! He is there for your best interests, TRUST ME.
All in all, 10/10 service and I couldn’t be happier.

Went in recently to pickup two handguns that were transferred to me when my father passed away . From the minute I stepped through the front door I had nothing but a bad experience . The Staff talked to me like I was an idiot because I was a woman, told me one of them was in non operational order but they could keep it for an undisclosed amount of time because its hunting season and those guns take priority . When I explained it belonged to my grandfather then my dad now me the guy on the other side made a crack about it " not being valuable" it was a run of the mill handgun but I should still get it fixed even if it wasn't worth anything was beyond insulting since it may not be "vauable" from a resale stand point it is irreplaceable and invaluable to me since both of them have passed away . However when i took it to another gunsmith and they couldn't find anything wrong with it and it shoots fine I became even more irritated and this is not at all a business I will recommend anyone visit .

Service was not even provided. Some staff have strong opinions about foreign made weapons.
