From out of town and came in with my girlfriend for an early morning workout wanted a day pass. Day pass $25 (super high). Then asked if we had an id. Well, my girlfriend didn’t bring her since we weren’t going out clubbing. So we were told we could not pay $50 to work out. There loss and will never come to this gym again. I have been a member in the past when I lived there and always visit when I’m in town. Have never been asked for an id and or payed that much. If it’s a policy make sure everyone is enforcing. Not sure if the person telling us this with policy was even a manager as he was dressed in street clothes and eating behind the front desk but he was not nice. Could’ been like hey man sorry it’s our policy. But he was just rude about it. Poor customer service/experience.

i loved this gym, i've been coming here for the past 2 years but things have changed so much since then, no one wants to re-rack their weights, the ladies shower is disgusting. I don't think they ever clean them, there are 2 ,sometimes 1 curtain in there. They took away the bench so there's literally nowhere to put your stuff while you shower except the dirty floor. They rearrange the machines every few months which is quite frustrating but Staff are nice.

I'm writing this review just for the facility itself. This is one of the biggest and best old-school gyms you will find. It is HUGE, with an excellentvariety and quantity of equipment.I've lifted in hundreds of gyms all over the country, and unless you want to fly all the way out to LA, and pay $50 for a day pass, this is as close as you will ever get to working out at The Mecca. They even have many of the same posters up on the wall and photos of the original gym myself. As for the people who work out here, they suck! I have literally never been to any gym where I experienced such lazy and inconsiderate people not putting back the weights when they're finished. It appeared that almost half of the machines had plates left on them.

Great gym, has everything you need, sometimes equipment is broken but people tend to be rough at times so it’s expected. For the price of tanning and a monthly membership it’s super affordable, love that it’s 24 hours, never had any issues with staff or other people that work out here.

This review is not based of the Staff at this place. More the upper management. I have been a member of Gold's Gym for almost 15 years ( Tampa, FL) I recently came to Maryland because I am opening up a new business in the area. My first day of coming to the gym I explained that I from FL and have a membership with Gold's Gym there. I used my 14 day travel pass. Since July I have been paying $12.50 for a day pass every time I've been there. Sometimes even $25 because it seems some of the staff doesn't know how out of state membership works. Never complained about the inaccurate charges. What started my frustration with this location is that later on after paying the $12.50 per day for a day pass. One of the associates there told me I could pay $50 for a month pass instead of the $12.50 per day for the day pass. This option should have been given to me early on when I explained my situation. But I'm assuming either due to lack of knowledge or all associates not aware this could be done. The problem for me really started when I inquired about getting a membership. I asked about the different options that were available to see which made the most since. You figure basic math if I come twice a week, that's $25 a week. So for a month I'm paying $100. If been coming since July. Which is paying more than the basic membership would have cost. Yes, that was my choice because I travel and I'm only here temporarily. So it didn't make since to join and have to deal with the hassle of trying to cancel later on. Especially since this is a Franchise location and only few places available in Maryland. So I asked about the basic membership, which is $19.99 a month also requiring a initial fee. So I asked if this fee could be waived since I've spent alot of money in this establishment already. The answer was No. I asked the associate at the counter if there was a manager available that could explain why this fee could not be waived. The response again was No. No real explanation other than a policy that couldn't really be explained. So I left and will no longer give this location my business again anytime soon. I contacted the area manager, named Carissa, I apologize if I spelled that incorrectly. She called me back promptly and again the answer was No. I asked her how other plans required as little as $1 intitail payment but they couldn't waive it. No real explanation, me personally I felt she could have cared less. They would rather lose a customer over $1 than to gain a customer and make more money. As a business owner that makes absolutely no sense. I also contacted the Gold's Gym headquarters in Texas and spoke to someone there. They were very apologetic and said THERE IS A WAY TO WAIVE THE INTITAIL FEE. Why this couldn't be done in the first place I'm not sure. It seems either there's a lack of caring or maybe a lack of what can be done from a management perspective. Not only did they lose my business but my friends that go there as well. For me a Gym is a Gym. As long as they have weights I'm perfectly in my element. I joined another gym that obviously wanted my business more. I will be keeping my Tampa Gold's Gym membership because it's not part of this Franchise.

Been trying to cancel membership here for over a year now. Go in-person, and they lie to your face saying it's cancelled. Write in a letter, they give you the wrong address on purpose. Call, and they tell you to come in person even though they'll just repeat the loop again by telling you that a manager has to he there to cancel it. For a 24-hr gym, there needs to be 24hr customer service.

As a powerlifter on a budget, this gets the job done BUT, be prepared to hunt down whatever you need. The gym is a disorganized mess - plates put back wherever, people not re-racking, tissues all over the floor, not wiping down benches, etc.

Wow, I’m so impressed with this Golds gym! What an amazing value. For only $33 I get to tan, have them watch my son, and the full access to gym! I’m amazed! They take such great care of my kiddo at the kid care. I feel so safe leaving him there, they are incredibly attentive and kind. I love the staff, they are friendly and helpful. Anytime I need help finding equipment or borrowing equipment they are there to help. The gym is SUPER clean and organized. I love their machines they are up to date and the grass patch is so awesome! I love to come at night and dance in the class room. It’s honestly such a lovely gym I’m so grateful I’m a member here, it has been a huge asset to me and this community!

Filthy bathrooms and showers. Shower curtains covered in mold, bugs crawling on ceiling, missing shower curtains, trash left on floors and on top of lockers for days

Day 2 and already worst Gold’s gym experience I’ve had. I've been a member of Gold’s for years in 3 different States and visited over 10 locations. The staff here is so unprofessional. This is the first Gold’s with Kids Club that is operational ONLY in the afternoon and for 4 hours, not even for 7 days of the week. When my wife and I signed up, we asked to take a look at the kids club, and they were closing at 7 p.m. when the normal closing time is 8.The next day (July 4th), I called and asked if they were open. The guy said yes. I called again about 2–3 minutes later and asked "How about the kids club?". "Same hours, 4 p.m.–8 p.m.," he said. A few hours later, my wife, my son, and I drove 30+ minutes to get there and found out that the kid’s club had NEVER opened that day. The guy at the desk said "Sorry, I don’t know who you spoke to, but it's a holiday, and the kid’s club was never opened".I know it's a holiday, and that’s why I called. I will be totally fine if he tells me that it was not opened. We won’t have to waste our time and gas to get there. And by the voice, I know he was the same guy I spoke to.Day 1, no sign-up t-shirts for gold membership; kids club closing an hour earlyAnd Day 2, this. I already have enough, and I haven’t even used it yet. I already knew it was going to be bad after reading the reviews before signing. I had an idea but didn’t expect to be so disappointed only by day 2.

This is so sad. most of the time the gym AC. does not work. I ask one of the staff what is going with the AC. They said I have been working here for years. I'm use to it not working. It work for a couple of days and then it will be not working again. It has been doing that for years. That is really sad. Thats coming from your staff. You need a new system

This is an issue I completely have with the management at this location. I tried to downgrade my membership tonight. I was told by staff that management has recently changed the rules, where-as only a manager can downgrade or cancel memberships. I then asked what time management is usually there, and I was told 9am-5pm. This is very inconsiderate, considering that your gym is open 24/7, and most people (just like management) work in-between those hours. It's making it harder for people who come to the gym outside of those time-frames to make necessary changes to their memberships. If the gym is open 24 hours, then your staff should have the permission to revise accounts at all hours.

It seems like they are not cleaning the showers everyday, or if they are then they are not doing a good job. Everyday this week I saw the same clumps of hair stuck to the shower walls and the same toilets were clogged.Several of the curtains are missing and there is not enough space to put your stuff while showering. The staff seems friendly and the equipment is good but shower cleanliness is a high priority for me.

Worst experience ever. Opened an account in 2022 that I paid off in full. Unfortunately I only came a couple times the whole year because I didn’t like the cleanliness of the gym or the lack of equipment. The guy that helped me set up the account told me that after the year, the account would cancel and stop billing me. However, as I am checking my bank statements this year I noticed that they continued to charge me 4 monthly payments and an annual fee. I came to talk to them about it and they opened up my account and told me I had 3 other accounts from 8-9 years ago. I wasn’t even aware of this and apparently they had been sent to collections. I wanted to cancel all of the accounts they said I had but the manager wasn’t there. The next day I was able to speak to the manager Karissa Dodson and she told me the same unhelpful information the 3 people before her said. I was hoping to hear something reasonable or different from her being the manager but she clearly did not show appreciation for the year I spent on this gym.As a manager, she needs more training in customer service and problem-solving skills.

Great sauna session here. Huge and spacious inside. Wish this was my gym honestly for the wide size and ceiling height. Plenty of machines. Huge men's bathroom.
