No one is EVER going to want to discover their vehicle has transmission problems. Everyone had advice as to whether I should fix the car or ditch the car. After a million used cars viewed, I unfortunately realized that the horribly high price tag for replacing a transmission is still better than what it costs to replace an entire car, even if I go for a decent used model. Ugh!Thankfully, I finally got the BEST tip: call AAMCO; and luckily for me, my closest shop (Glen Burnie, MD) has Chuck. With his help, I learned the standard services are valuable enough (towing, the possibility to REBUILD rather than replace, and an entire nation of branches prepared to honor your warranty for up to three years!), but he was also able to match OR DO BETTER than the best price I could find elsewhere. Win-win! Chuck even put up with the challenging questions my regular mechanic was insisting I ask to make sure I wasn't being taken for a ride. I'm telling you; this guy has patience, and this garage comes through!Don't get me wrong, I still think the price of transmission problems is heartburn-inducing and the tailpipe ought to be spouting rainbow bubbles for the cost, but I wholeheartedly believe I got an amazing deal.I can't write a big enough THANK YOU, but I hope this comes close.

I came in with a failing clutch. A test of the clutch is to stress it out. I wasn't happy that now my clutch pedal comes all the way to the top to engage. It slipped a lot when I picked it up the next day. I can still drive my car, but now the clutch is engaging when my foot is almost off the pedal. This company has been there for a while, and I've known them to always do good business. Everyone was very nice and cordial. I would say, please be easy on the stress test...it shorten the clutch use, from what it already was. My apologies, I was angry. But I did mention I just got beat for $5,000 on a van, that was destroyed, by the mechanics, and had to junk! Nothing against you guys, keep up the good. I just felt the replay as I was driving home. LOL ?

Tried to take my truck in for a check engine diagnostic to get a good gauge of what needed to get fixed and how much it would cost since my dealership service usually charges a ridiculous fee. I made an appointment and took it in first thing in the morning. Never looked at it. Took it in a 2nd time and had to call to get an update at the end of the day saying it would cost hundreds of dollars more to run additional tests. So, I wasted 2 days of my time when it would've been cheaper to get it fixed elsewhere. Don't take your car here if you want a quick or cheap fix...Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I just recently had work done on my 2007 Ford f150. They fixed the original problem just fine but 3 weeks to the day I picked my vehicle up my engine overheated. I have a very slow leak that simply didn't exist before I brought my vehicle here. Now I have 2 warped head gaskets on a truck that is 15 years old but only has 75k miles on it. Just a day or two before going to Aamco I stopped at Jiffy lube to simply have my fluids typed off. My coolant was fine and not leaking then. When I last spoke to Chuck he was cordial at first but the phone conversation basically ended when Chuck said "You know what pal, you're really starting to get on my nerves." Nice huh? To be continued. That is a fact.Service: Transmission

Had car for 31 days. Sent me home with loose Motor Mount. Which could have been a disaster. Transmission is still not right. They do say that they will make it right, but after leaving me without a car for over a month you would think that It would be fixed. Will only go there for them to fix there mistake. Would not recommend to my worst enemy. There's more, but I will stop here.

So, took my truck in to rebuild the transmission about a month ago, it's a 2005 f150 5.4 4wd. Probably the truck I would say a transmission shop in America does rebuilds in the most. So initially the rebuild was supposed to take 3-5 business days with a cost of a window from 1900-3500$. I get it, I hate transmission so I'm paying someone and they are alotta work. Drop my truck off, call back on the third business day come to find out it's been sitting right where I parked it. They were waiting on "parts" is what one person told me, the other said they literally only have a certain amount of room and were busy from everyone deciding to rebuild transmissions with there stimulus checks. The transmission ended up taking 9 business days. A total of 14 days total from the original drop off date. Let alone the price ended up being the full 3500$ which was a little off but oh well I need my stuff fixed. So I pick my truck up. About a week later im looking at a power steering leak I have and I notice the engine bay is covered in oil. I am ASE certified mechanic. I just hate transmissions. Check all the fluids come to find out the transmission is bone dry. I call speak to one of the two same gentlemen that has been answering the phone and talking to me since day one. They say that's not good there gonna send a tow truck it's free and under warranty. Tow truck gets my truck, they shop said there was a transmission line loose and they tightened it, but now there was plenty of fluid in it to drive back to the shop and I'm Responsible for the tow fee of 175$. They Said the truck had ample fluid and they did not need to top it off. I'm thinking I know I'm not done but I can't argue with a shop who's now holding my truck hostage over 175$. I pay the 175 and stipulate for the gentlemen to come show me the truck has fluid before driving off. He comes out checks the fluid, (they didn't top anything off it's perfectly fine right? Nope still bone dry. He says sorry he didn't look himself and refund my money. Today is a week from the refund date. My bank says they canceled they refund and I called them and just was told he would figure it out and hung up. StY away.

The car was at this establishment for two weeks and two days before being able to pick up the vehicle. We picked up the vehicle on Friday at 4:30; less than 2 hours later, all of the transmission fluid was all over the ground and the car undriveable. The shop closed at 5pm. I had to pay to get the car towed back to the shop for repair. The repair could not even be started until Monday and still don’t have answers as to why this happened. We may or may not get the vehicle back tomorrow.Manager was very nice at least. 10/10 would not recommend.

Vehicle transmission troubles are always a headache. Finding a fair, honest, and reputable auto repair shop to correctly diagnose and repair the problem can cause a lot of anxiety. After visiting half a dozen service centers, I chose AAMCO . What set AAMCO apart from the others was that the service representative, Justin Womaski, was able to explain to me in simple language how his shop would go about figuring out what was wrong with my transmission. I left my truck in his hands with the confidence that it would be treated as if it were his own. My truck was repaired quickly and at a fair price.
