I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. We used their service to store our furniture until we found a home or built. We built but not in the same zipcode. Now they tell me they can't deliver my container because they don't service our area which is only one hour away from our old address. They finally agreed to bring it but at a cost of $408 and not until November 30 or after. Had anybody on their end told us this was going to be an issue we would have never used them. Sadly we now have to hire movers to go to the container and haul everything out and put in another truck. So when you look them up DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT THEIR STATEMENT SAYS!!!!! It says they service anywhere and any time to any location! LIES and misleading. What a total load of crap!!!!! Never again and I will make sure I tell everybody and post on every bit of social media. Not reliable or reputable.

If I could give zero stars, I would!!! My stuff is currently in the 1-800-My-Packrat warehouse in Glen Burnie, MD. Fifteen months ago, my unit was stored in MD because I wanted the flexibility to move to within MD, or to NC/FL. This was all explained to my initial sales rep. Now, as I am attempting to schedule the delivery of my unit to my new home in MD, located two hours away from the MD Packrat warehouse, I am being told they do not deliver to my zip code. Supposedly, there is some rule that requires you to use their partner company U-Pack to have your stuff delivered to Berlin. I can't explain the rule because the rep who called me last night spoke using technical terms such as "clearance replacement" as he let me know this entire situation is my fault. It's like they don't want you to have an understanding on purpose. The solution they offered is for me to pay their partner company U-Pack for a new portable storage unit (equals more money for them) and to physically go to the warehouse and transfer all of the stuff I movers load into my 16' PackRat container (equals more costs/labor for me). Don't believe the nice people in Wake Forest, NC, who do the initial selling! Everything goes downhill after that! After the initial bin drop-off, I was stuck scrubbing lubricant off my community's parking lot. And yes, the driver saw the mess! I did not bother contacting PackRat about it. I was moving the next day and I had already learned once you are a customer it takes about two hours to get someone on the phone.

Will the company get your belongings from point A to point B for one of the cheapest prices in a long distance move? Likely yes. Will it be fast, certainly not. Will they meet their own schedules? not that either. Will they tell you when there is an issue or delay? Also no. Be prepared to put the customer support into your speed dial because you will need to call them frequently to find out what is going wrong on any given event date. AL provider was absolutely non-communicative and I could only troubleshoot missed pickups through the customer support. Had to get my property manager to coordinate the final pickup as I had to move before they succeeded. MD drop-off driver was a pleasure to work with! Final pick up date got bumped without notification.
If you can afford to save yourself the stress, try another company... Maybe it will be better?

My one star is because the pod itself was clean and fine for my storage needs. Otherwise, I would stay away from using 1800-Pack Rat. The ordering process was easy enough. The pod was delivered a day later than it was supposed to be delivered. And pick up was done at 10pm at night in the dark. I had several noise complaints from my neighbors about the pickup noise so late on a Monday evening.
My biggest issue with the company is their billing. Beware before you proceed. If you do not schedule your pickup because the next billing, you are charged for an entire month no matter the date of pickup.
And they do not provide any notice of when your card is being charged. I noticed a pending charge on my card and immediately went on to schedule a pickup. My card was charged on the 15th and the pod was picked up on the 22nd. I was charged $277 for the second month (on top of the $110 drop off fee and $110 pick up fee). I called to ask if part of the month could be refunded and was told it was a valid charge, it was in their paperwork and they would not refund anything.
This is not the way other Pod companies work. Typically you are charged fo the time that you have the pod. I find their billing to be deceptive and their customer service to be sorely lacking and I would avoid using them for this reason. They have also lost a customer in me and any referral business I might provide them.

This is the most disorganized company I have ever seen. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They keep moving the pick up date and time even though one was already scheduled on my confirmation email - they didn’t care. I wish I could give 0 stars.

Very helpful on terms of problem solving for finding the best place to park in the small lot near my new place! Drop off and delivery was handled mostly well! The last two drivers especially.
Update:
I removed my belongings from the storage pod and found that my small 3-drawer dresser to be broken when it was not upon entry into the transport pod. I placed it up against the wall to prevent such happenings, but to no avail. It had to be thrown out due to structural integrity damage. I still give it a fair rating because of the relative smoothness of pick-up and delivery, and customer service.

Do not care about customers. Booked ahead of time to make sure I had the dates I needed. Scheduled moving help, got a permit, scheduled move out of apartment. The container didn’t show up, they rescheduled for different dates/times, meaning I had to cancel movers, and was left without a way to move my stuff across the country. All I got was an insincere “sorry”
