I had an excellent experience at Holistic Veterinary Healing. The staff was very warm, welcoming and informative. Dr. Deb was fantastic. She spent a long time getting to know me and my dog. She answered all my questions and provided me with a plan to care for my dog that fits my budget. I highly recommend this practice. This was my 1st visit and I have already scheduled the appointment for my dog's annual checkup in January.

I adopted a 1-year old pup last year and quickly discovered she is not fan of vets in part because she doesn't like to have blood drawn. This year, instead of sedating her as one practice wanted me to do, I went to Holistic Veterinary Healing where Dr. Deb and Robin were able to calmly draw blood and do body work on her! I was amazed! It was such a positive experience for both of us!!!! We will be back!

Now that my dog has passed I feel comfortable to leave the rating/ review I wanted to leave a couple of years ago. Dr. Pema’s appointments cost $400+ each time and both times she mostly had her back to us. She didn’t interact with my dog at all but her very kind office staff always did while assisting her. I don’t know if it was because he was a Pit or if it was something about me but she didn’t seem to care to engage with us. I went to her for a more holistic approach to things and was surprised when she wanted me to give him heart worm medicine so I posted about it in a holistic dog group on Facebook. I did not mention her name or the name of her practice, I only said that a holistic vet I had gone to didn’t seem very holistic in their treatment approach. She actually emailed me telling me that she saw my post… What professional does that? Like I told her I didn’t do anything wrong and I didn’t name her so I wasn’t going to be made to feel like I had done something wrong. I told her not to bother to email me back and she still did. I never looked at her response because I’m not going to go back and forth with someone I had paid $800+ to. I had wrongly assumed that going to a Buddhist vet meant that I could maybe expect less prejudice toward my pit bull and myself & if lucky be in an environment that wouldn’t cause my dog as much anxiety as other vets had in the past but this was even worse. Her staff was really friendly and the office was very relaxing. If they had had another option for a vet then I’d probably have contributed going there. I don’t expect to be coddled and I’d even take neutral but this was indifference & she had some audacity to call me out about my post.

We brought our dog Martin in to see dr. Deb and she was fantastic! Within minutes she diagnosed our dog with a life threatening condition that many other vets brushed off over the years. We're we're quickly able to get surgery done after and now our pup is healed and doing great! Excited to have a new primary vet for Martin and any future pets.

Best vet practice I've ever found. Many holistic treatments as well as conventional care but the extra is in the people and the atmosphere that they create. Their "fear free" commitment is apparent in every interaction with both my dog and me. Had very good results with harrowing spinal condition of my beloved elderly corgi. I live 100 miles away but now consider hvh my regular vet.

I am very grateful to have found this wonderful vet facility. Dr Deb draws from a wealth of traditional and alternative medical knowledge to provide what's best for my cats.

After 10 years of excellent health, my Westie appears to be in some sort of heart failure. This is the time when most (corporate) vets, see dollar signs as you rush into the clinic in tears. I've been to several vets over the last 18 months, none offering any solutions, only seeing dollar signs and what they can charge for, what they can test for. No earthly idea of a possible solution to her issue. Fortunately, I received advice to visit a holistic vet and found this location. I'm sure that once the corporate vets figure out that's the new buzzword, they will steal and bastardize this term,, too, but for now this one is giving a unique experience, that of trying to find solutions and actually caring about your animal. Just because I don't wish to spend $2500 at the cardiologists. Does it mean my dog should suffer most will do nothing say nothing offer you nothing after you say "1500 for a diagnostic seems excessive. What are the costs after that?" In our particular situation, our vet was able to offer a potential remedy that was low risk. This medication has helped her in advance of my budgeting for a 1500 additional dollars. I really appreciate that. They seem to care about the animal, and not only the bottom line. Please avoid all corporate vets, ESPECIALLY those that are affiliated with venture capitalists.

I have never encountered a group of individuals in a professional setting that are so unprofessional. I am in shock at what I just witnessed from the staff of this veterinary clinic. It's a rainy, cold day, I am hurrying from my car to get inside with my dog and the moment I open the door, I am faced with not one not two not three but four staff members who immediately were raising their voice at me. My dog is a very sensitive dog and so that startled her immediately. They yelled "The lobby isn't open! You can't come in here! You're not allowed!" I said, "but I have an appointment at 11:30." They yelled "That doesn't matter!! You have to sit in your car and call us until we come get you!" OK, that is fine if they had told me that in a professional manner. Why were they all yelling? What was the reason for all of the hostility? I paused, looked down at my sweet dog, and said "you know I think I'm good because this feels hostile." Shockingly, they continued raising their voices so I met their energy and said, "you are rude for absolutely no reason!" Then one of the older techs pointed her finger at me and start lunging at the door as I walked out. That was one of the most bizarre experiences I've ever had. Everyone wants the staff members at the veterinary clinic you trust with your most beloved, pets, to be kind and understanding and certainly not yell, but yet I was faced with raised voices, pointing fingers, and angry faces. Please don't take your pet here, I'm so disappointed. If you are sensitive to bad energy, this is definitely not the place. It has very dark energy which is so disappointing for a place that is supposed to have holistic roots.

Overly strict Covid policies. Very odd for a "holistic" practice.

Dr Pema and entire staff are very kind and caring professionals and I think our dog Muttley senses that as he normally shakes terribly when we take him to vet’s office, but not when we take him to Holistic. We also appreciate Dr Pema’s recommendation of proper diet and only necessary vaccines based on our dog’s upbringing and lifestyle.

I am a slow convert to "food is medicine" for dogs. Ironically, I am vegan and I tend to buy organic food for my human body. Someone who regularly cared for my toy poodle-mix when I traveled three or four years ago fed my dog raw meat. He seemed to respond well to it; his hind leg that he often held folded up near his torso was used more for walking. My dog certainly liked the raw food better than the kibble I was giving him. I took my dog to see Dr. Pema after meeting a few people who raved about her. Shortly after switching to her practice, colitis became an issue for my dog. I gave him supplements that Dr. Pema recommended. Unfortunately, the colitis and periods of low appetite kept returning. Exasperated, I asked Dr. Pema what else, if anything, could be done. She gave him a thorough food intolerance analysis. We discovered that every single commercial product that I was buying for my dog from the freezer of pet stores had some ingredient that he could not tolerate. I now buy meat from a grocery store and cook his food using a recipe that Dr. Pema provided me. The colitis gone. His appetite is usually strong. A bonus: Since I began making my dog's food, I have noticed that my dog bites on his feet much, much less. I think his skin is less irritated. My old dog is truly old - maybe 17 years old. (I got him from a shelter.) When I walk him, people ask me how old my "puppy" is. He has the energy of a much younger dog.
