One of the front desk workers, Nicole, was extremely helpful and friendly. She greeted me with a smile, assisted me with all of my questions, and demonstrated a positive work environment. I was so happy with my experience that I bought a membership immediately after my free pass day.

Untrustworthy. Tried to put a hold on the account twice but kept getting charged as their staff didn’t actually record it. Won’t accept cancellations over the phone either. When I went in to cancel, they informed me it takes 30 DAYS for the system to process a request and I would be charged twice in the meantime—a total of 4 payments for a service that was actively trying to be suspended.

Run!! The worst customer service ever! They are liars. When I signed up for membership, I informed them that I would be moving to Miami. They told me that they have a Miami location. After moving, I discovered that the Miami location was permanently closed years ago. I called to cancel my membership, they told me to email corporate. I emailed corporate and I have an email stating that it satisfied the written notice. Yet they are still charging me. I’ve asked for the manager to contact me and no one ever did. I’m now tired of waiting and will be filing a complaint with the attorney general and BBB.

A Decent gym. Good amount of squat racks and platforms. But lacking in quantity of dumbbells I think they only have like 2 sets 20’s, 35’s etc. limited cable machines for your low rows and lat pull down, like 2 of each.Definitely has some nice equipment you don’t find in other gyms, but again the men’s sauna has constantly been broken as well as other machines that don’t get fixed quickly.

Gym space and equipment are great, one of the best in this area. There is a good selection of equipment that is clean, new, and modern. My only complaint is the locker room. The lockers have the combo locks that are always locked up from previous users so when you go in, there may only be one locker available, if that (and you spend 5 mins hunting for one). Shower space is large and clean but the hot water is not really hot, just barely warm enough. Recommend getting rid of the combo locks or manage them better. Also recommend turning the temperature up on the hot water. If it weren’t for the locker room issues, I’d rate the gym 5 stars.

Will the sauna be fixed this winter? It’s been out of order for 4+ weeks. Update: Sauna was fixed - took about 5 weeks.Gym etiquette at this location is horrible. There are a select few in the morning hours who can’t seem to grasp the concept of putting their weights back after using machines. It’s the same members who don’t wash their hands after using the bathroom, so no surprise there. Also, the hogging of dumbbells is getting out of hand. Is anyone from management going to say something to these members?Additionally, please remove members from the sauna who sit in there for an hour, bring dumbbells in, bring fitness bands in and soak every surface in sweat. It’s absolutely disgusting.Really hope something is done regarding these issues.

I go to this gym on a regular basis (3-5+ times per week). This location has the potential to be exceptional, except it's held back by the constant poor decisions of whoever chooses the equipment in the gym. There's a weird collection of machines and weights in the gym, all of which make working out slightly annoying, including:- 8+ squat racks but only 1 smith machine- only 3 cable stations on a single cable machine for cable work- only 1 chest fly cable machine (it's currently broken)- only 1 chest fly / delt fly weight stack machine (for a gym this size there should really be 2-4)- only 1 leg extension machine (always occupied)- only 1 leg curl machine (always occupied)- ZERO 2.5 lb weights (5lb weights are the minimum increment)- There are only around 70 lockers in the mens locker room, over half of them are permanently broken (locked open or the handle is completely broken off on more than 30 of them, meaning there is never an available locker)- No "personal items" locker, where you can store small things like wallets or keys. This would easily help solve the locker problem. I really wish they would add this.- Only 2 sets of dumbbells for the lower weights (4 dumbbells of each weight). Given how large the dumbbell area is, there should really be 3 sets of each dumbbell weight- Free weight plates are oftentimes far away from the machine, where you sometimes need to scavenge the weight you need from other machines that people are actively using. These are all very small factors that can be EASILY solved if management cared at all about the experience they were delivering to their customers, but all of those factors add up for a two-star experience. For the amount of time and money that was put into this gym, management has really failed to deliver.I write this review to hopefully help enact change because I'd really like to love this gym and I want to work out here for a long time to come, but I'm not sure of a better way to publicize the shortcomings that this gym has than to write a review.I will update this review with notes and comments if any of these factors ever get addressed. Until then: 2 stars.

Gold's Gym at Germantown is a great facility with plenty of state-of-the-art equipment to get in a solid workout. My only gripe are the lockers. For one, there aren't sufficient lockers in the men's locker rooms relative to the quantity of members. This has caused a shortage of lockers available during peak hours. In addition, the lockers are self-lock and if you don't reset the lock following use, the locker is no longer functional; which exacerbates the shortage of usable and available lockers. Lastly, the self-lock lockers add complexity to figuring out which locker you used since there's no easy identifier to re-locate the locker you placed your items in. Adding additional lockers in the locker rooms along with enabling people to use their own locks to secure their items would increase the quality and intuitiveness of this gym.

When you join everyone smiles but if you cancel no one respond to call or emails... you will get charged as wellI visited the gym and the staff were initially very friendly trying to convince the customer to join the gym and after 1 month of membership I planned to cancel my membership and sent multiple emails to the gym's Email address but received no response.I called the Gym's phone number they requested to visit the gym physically for cancellation and freezing account but next day I got charged and what the front desk told me was not approved by their management.I had to pay 1 month fee of 40$ as notice, annual membership cost of 80$, another 100$ as cancellation fee and yet I see my membership is not cancelled and it is due for another charge in Dec.While joining the gym everyone is smiling but if you cancel no one respond to your emails and you don't know to whom you should talk... gym manager is in meeting and front desk cannot make decision... I am just stuck

The gold gym website would have you believe that it's $50 a month. In reality there is a $70 initiation fee due on joining, $50 a month membership fee, and a $99 annual fee that is charged 30 days after signing! That's $220 just to lift weights in a former Barnes and noble. No thanks I am good.

Unfairness; I seem people getting to your gym that they do not scan their cards or memberships because they are friends with the staff. I know a couple of them that have expired or unpaid memberships and they only greet the associates. How is that fair? I pay my membership and those guys with cameras recording leaving no space to walk just get there to piss other paying members in there. Don’t believe me? I can give you examples of times of people walking in without even scanning their cards.

They continue to bill me even though I've already canceled my membership. When the gym initially opened, they assured me that I could cancel at any time without incurring any charges. However, it seems they were more interested in attracting new members and were not truthful about their policies because non one actually reads the like 50- pages of terms and conditions and everybody trusts the representative at the front desk. Upon contacting them, their response was, "We are not obligated to read the terms and conditions.", which is fair enough because i shouldnt have taken their word for it. ALL THEY WANT IS A CARD ON FILE SO THEY CAN KEEP CHARGING YOU!!! they dont care about you or anything else!!!
