This place is actually a liquor store that also rents vans. We'd reserved a cargo van for 4pm on a Saturday to take our kids' stuff up to MA, which is where we drove from. When we got there he had only gotten the reservation five minutes before and had nothing on the lot. We had to come back the next morning to get the van. Although it was my name on the reservation and my credit card, the person at the counter (different from the day before) WOULD NOT SPEAK TO ME AT ALL, only to my partner. The van was covered with dents and not great on the inside either, but it worked. There was supposed to be an EZPass in the van, and there was, but after we'd already returned it (we had to just leave the keys etc., the guy on the MA end wasn't in even though his schedule said he should be), we got a call from the Gaithersburg store saying that the EZPass in the van belonged to another customer who had left it there by accident and wanted it back. We ignored the call since it wasn't our problem and Budget should have provided one. Hope the customer got his toll money back from Budget but he's probably SOL.Would not use Budget for this type of trip/function again. We usually use UHAUL but they wouldn't rent a cargo van one way - in the future I'll just eat the 2 way costs so that I'll know my vehicle WILL ACTUALLY BE THERE, have an EZ Pass, and be in good condition.

Very friendly pickup counter inside a convenience store. They didn't have the 12' truck I reserved, but offered the van they had for a cheaper price. Offered a later return time than advertised. The man was super nice, even gave my son a free candy bar. I think it's a shame that noone posts reviews when they've had a good experience here, which skews the perception of this wonderful quaint site.

Don’t bother making a reservation. It will be good until the day before your supposed to move and they will not have your truck. Pay a little more to a reputable company. Terrible service. I will never use or recommend.

Basically a scam spent a total of $550 on a cargo van I had for 3 days with no luck of reaching anyone via phone to extend and the cargo van barely moved. This place is a complete ripoff and I will continue to report this location every single day. I really hope this location gets shut down.

DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION!!! I moved from DC to Germantown. I sent the following email to customer service about this location on Frederick Road. Good morning. I received a collections notice in the mail on Saturday night stating I owed Budget for a truck rental on December 11, 2016. I spoke with the collection's agent who said my original charge went through but that a chargeback was received on December 19th. The total due on the collection notice is $308.81. When I asked about the high amount, I was told that Budget said I returned the truck two days later. I called the drop-off location after I spoke with the collection agent. I spoke with Hormaz who represents Budget at the drop-off locaion. He said he could not help me because the truck was rented so long ago. I asked him if he still had the paperwork I signed when I dropped off the key. He said, "No. We don't even look at that paper. We throw away that paper. We look at the invoice and put the drop-off date and time in the computer. You're (the customer) supposed to keep that paper. What is the purpose of the drop-off location duplicate if they do not keep it? Why did I not receive a notice or a call from Budget before this was sent to collections? I do not owe this money. I returned the emptied, full of gas truck the very next morning after I picked it up. Please investigate this matter and call me. Thank you. I got a response from customer service showing the invoice they show from the drop-off location. But, there was no other response. Just the invoice. I requested further investigation to resolve the matter and have not received a response, yet.

Please do not waste your time and reserve a truck through budget. Wish I could give zero stars. I should have listened to the previous reviewer. I reserved a truck on Wednesday for pickup Saturday morning at 8am. Friday at 715 pm these people called me to tell me that there would not be a truck available for me. They close at 6 on Friday and the manager called me from his personal cell phone to tell me this. He didn't even offer to find me another truck he just said to call customer service. I called customer service and they told me to expect a call between 7 and9 am to let me know if they could get me a truck. It is now 950am and I have not received a phone call. I decided to schedule a reservation through UHAUL after I got off the phone with budget Friday night just in case. Needless to say I will NEVER use budget for truck rentals because UHAUL could accommodate me with a truck on time for a cheaper price.

If I could give zero stars- I would! I reserved my 10' moving truck a week in advance. My truck was scheduled for a 10 am pick-up on moving day. I received a phone call from the manager of the pick-up location at 5 pm the afternoon before pick-up day telling me that they had ZERO trucks available (no options, no alternate sized trucks, zero options) and that I would have to call customer service. I call customer service, they tell me that they will call back within two hours with other near-by pickup location options. I do not receive a return call. I call customer service again, after waiting 2.5 hours. They tell me that there are no trucks available anywhere in my area (I live in a DC suburb by the way, not a remote location and told them I would drive up to 25 miles to pick up a truck). They cancelled my reservation, then magically just before hanging up found another 10' truck at a location very close (but at a higher rate- go figure). I book this truck for a 10 am next day pickup. They tell me I can call the next morning to have my rate adjusted back to my previous rate as the truck was canceled by no fault of my own. Next morning 9 am day of pick-up. I call customer service, get a discount applied, all set to pick my truck up. Great! Except...it's not. While I'm on the phone with customer service, I miss a call. This call is from the manager of the new pick-up location and he is very sorry but they have NO TRUCKS AVAILABLE. (30 minutes before my pick-up time.) Back to customer service I go. They tell me that I can pick up a 24' truck instead but do not offer any rate discounts. This size truck is WAY too large for my needs and will not even fit into the tiny cul-de-sac I'm moving to. Plus, without a rate adjustment? Way too expensive. I have cancelled with Budget truck and rented a 10' truck with U-Haul. I was able to rent the same day I called, get the 10' truck I requested AND they offer a guarantee that if they are not able to come through for any reason be it lack of requested equipment, pick-up time, anything, they will give me $50 compensation. Moving is stressful enough- do yourself a favor and do not choose to rent a truck from Budget as they will only make it that much MORE stressful.
