My mom always cut my hair and Kori is the only other person ON THE PLANET that I will even let touch it. They are clean and so kind!

My wife has used this salon for several months and has been very pleased! She has had highlights & styling several times. The result was excellent. The stylist was professional and attentive, the salon clean and well managed. She has taken both of daughters who have also been very pleased. You will enjoy your experience!

From the first time I met the owner of the studio, I knew I was in good hands. I first came here to correct a haircut from another place. Kathie greatly impressed me with her skill and kindness. She did a correction of my hair style in just a few minutes and did not charge me! I have been coming back to her salon ever since then and that was several years ago. Art of Hair Studio is a clean, friendly, easily accessible place where many of the customers chat with one another and their stylists. I have gotten excellent haircuts and beautiful color each time I go there. The level of customer service is excellent as well. They are very accommodating. The person who washed my hair always put something soft on the sink to cushion it for me. The person who answers phones and schedules appointments is organized and, unlike my experience at other salons, has never mistaken my appointment time. This is a friendly salon that provides excellent service at affordable prices. I always leave feeling good. Kathie is a good listener and understands what I am looking for when creating a color and a style for me. She is fast, focused and fun -- has a great sense of humor--and always manages to give me a beautiful hair style. I have had haircuts is high-end salons in New York City and Washington DC, and in many neighborhood salons in various places over the years. Art of Hair Studio has been my best salon experience. I highly recommend this salon.

One of the worst place ever to go! These people will rob your money. They ruined my wife's hair. All she asked for highlights and hair cut. Instead of blonde highlights they did green! Yes green and when we asked many a times to fix it, they even ruined them. They also refused to refund the money since they did not do the right job. Please do not visit them. The Groupon deal is scam and they are rode, unprofessional and thugs. DO NOT WASTE YOUR Time & MONEY

Had an appointment for 1230p, I walked in, was helped by the receptionist immediately and she knew who I was (I had never been there before). She told me to sit down and it would be a couple minutes. 20 minutes later I was taken to get my hair washed. I didn't know what to do or where to go because she was already helping someone, so I just stood there with all my stuff and waited. I appreciate the fact that they covered me in a couple towels and a smock. The lady who washed my hair was rough with the whole process. She was not delicate handling my hair, head, or the whole process. It felt like her nails were scraping through my scalp. Afterwards to dry me off, she stuck her fingers (and nails) in my ear (with the towel over), but because her nails were so long it hurt. She then took my stuff and put my purse on top of a hot straightener. I'm not sure she spoke and understood English well, or at all. I think waited for another like 10 minutes. So the Brazilian Blowout time arrived! It was approximately 1pm. Sherri was very knowledgeable and explained thing quickly (as if she were a pro) but in terms I could understand. She asked if I had any questions before doing the treatment. She asked me a questions and tried to make light conversation with me while doing my hair, which I appreciated as well. She was very friendly and welcoming. She offered to take pictures of my hair after it was completed and during the process. She also wanted to use my picture on their website, which I'm not sure if I had to sign authorization form for or anything; but I didn't. She explained what I would have to do to make the treatment last prior to doing anything with my hair. The only thing that really bothered me was no one apologized or explained to me why I waited 30 minutes to have a treatment done that I had an appointment for. Everyone that I interacted with was very professional and welcoming. They even gave me a card with the pricing for my next time as I was leaving.

I'll start with the positive...my stylist was friendly and competent. She gave me a trim, just as requested. Unfortunately, that is not enough to have me back. When I arrived, the shampoo lady made some sort of noise to alert my stylist that my hair was long (FYI, it's just about 2 inches past my shoulders...hardly anything to write home about) - holding it up above my head, tugging on it until she got her attention. After having it shampooed and conditioned, I was brought over to the chair where the stylist asked what I wanted. I stated I just wanted a trim, as I was keeping as much length as possible. While she was nice, I can't tell you how many comments she made about the length of my hair. She did complement me on how pretty it was, but the endless comments of how long and think it was made me quite uncomfortable. I felt like I was totally inconveniencing her for doing her job that I'm paying for. She also seemed to really want to rush through the flat ironing portion, and I had to ask her to go over a few spots because they were far from dry, much less straight. I think I could have gotten over this, despite feeling uncomfortable, but the other factors I'm about to share certainly have left a bad taste in my mouth. While there, another stylist (I can hardly call him a gentleman) from a different shop was there talking horribly about another person he worked with. All the stylists at Art of Hair were chiming in on how they'd never sit in his chair, they'd "run out the damn door", etc. I'm not sure which employee said it, but the phrase "CROTCH HEAD" came out a few times. Now I am decades younger than any of these employees and I found this to be so crass, rude and unacceptable. They didn't seem to be bothered by this. Fast forward to when I was checking out - the quite unpleasant Asian lady informed me that I owed $15 (I had used a Living Social coupon). I asked for what and she told me the length of my hair. I informed her that when I made the appt, the person asked how long my hair was, I told them and nothing was said about an extra charge. She sardonically told me that the fine print on my coupon reads there will be a charge. I told her it actually didn't say that, it said there "may be an additional charge" and that when I made the appt, nothing was said. That's not something you just throw out at a customer as they're walking out - ESPECIALLY because I gave her my LS coupon before I was even taken back. That would have been a more appropriate time to tell me. As the shop only takes cash and checks, I was therefore unable to tip my stylist and shampoo girl but $5 b/c I only had a $20. I got quite agitated and said I only had a $20 because I wasn't informed after being transparent about the length of my hair when I made the appt. The Asian lady had the audacity to roll her eyes at me, so I gave her the $20, walking out and said to her, "you really should inform customers of this before taking them back." She then mumbled, "you really should be smart and read the fine print." Yes, you read that right. I flung the door open again and said, "excuse me?" She lied and said she mumbled "have a nice day." I called her out and said you certainly did not say that and told her she should never, ever treat a customer like that. Especially a customer who didn't have a clue there would be a charge because of the lack of professionalism received. I am just baffled that I had to be made to feel uncomfortable and rushed by a stylist, and then to be so rudely treated by the lady at the front. I will certainly not be returning and won't hesitate to spread the word. What a disappointment.
