I’ve always preferred ULTA over Sephora, because in my personal experience, ULTA has better customer service. I typically go to the location closest to my house, but this location in Gambrills is closer to my job. I don’t leave work until after 6:30pm, so I have to wait until the weekend to make my ULTA visit because it’s closed by the time I get home. Tonight, I tried this location for the first time and was not disappointed. The store was pretty well stocked and organized, and I didn’t feel rushed. I got there right at 7 and had plenty of time to look for new products and get my staples that I’m about to run out of. The young lady who checked me out was Keren, and she was nice and friendly. I’m so happy that I’ll be able to visit this location during the week instead of having to wait until weekends to visit my local ULTA, because I’ll definitely be returning!

Love the location of this store, conveniently located inside Waugh Chapel shopping, which allows people to stop by and grab the things they needed after dinning at the restaurants nearby or while doing errands run at Target or Wegman’s.
Parking: large shopping center parking lot.
Inside shop: spacious, fairly clean, did not see too many staff in the shop, well stocked on most of the shelves, has one of the largest Styling Tools section.
Service: we did not need any customer service on this trip, but when in line to check out, there was only 1 staff behind the counter while 3-4 customers were waiting in line. Wait was not long, so we didn’t mind. It was a weekday afternoon, so not as busy as the weekend, not sure if that’s why staffing was low, or some were happened to be on break at that time frame.

All of the napkins/cleaning stations/sanitation areas where EMPTY. That's a biohazard and extremely unsanitary all the alcohol spray bottles were empty, water bottles also empty, no hand sanitizer anywhere. I literally saw customers using (try me/tester) make up and then putting right back without any sanitation

Unbelievable. Unbeknownst to me, this store closes at 8:00 on Mondays. I got here at 8:03, with an online order. I called the store and asked if I could just come in to get the purchase since there were still customers in the store. I even explained to the girl that I was going out of the country tomorrow and just wanted to grab the items and she wouldn't allow me to get it. After driving over an hour to this location, they couldn't allow THREE minutes to get items that were already purchased and bagged at their counter. I also asked for a manager and no one got one. As a previous retail manager this was poor customer sevice and a stupid way to lose a sale as I will be returning the items. I highly discourage anyone from shopping at this location. In addition to this experience today, the employees here aren't very knowledgeable of the makeup and merchandise as they have been unable to help during previous visits when I've inquired about recommendations. I'm calling corporate. Take your money to another location or Sephora.
Update: Spoke with a Manager (Sierra) and she is definitely the saving grace for this store. She listened and responded in a way that made me feel heard as a customer.

I have been going to Farah for my hair appointments for over 10 years. She is one of the most amazing hair stylists I have been to. Farah is one of the master hairstylists at Ulta. She is professional, listens to what you want to have done, gives you her professional opinion about what you need. I have referred so many family and friends to her and every single one of them has been happy with her amazing work . I saw a negative review on here, and I know exactly what the situation was. It happened that I had an appointment at the same time. The lady was rude, unrealistic and wouldn't even let Farah finish her work first! She started complaining from the moment she sat in the chair and then when Farah referred her to Jessica, which is another capable hair stylist. She started questioning her about what she uses , and trying to tell them they don't know what they are doing!!! Between these two ladies with over 38 years of expertise and experience, I don't think she had any room to try to teach them how to blow dry her hair! I have very curly hair myself and get my hair done by Farah couple of times in a month. I normally don't write reviews! But when I saw this unfair review, I wanted to clear the situation!

The worst Ulta I've ever shopped in. No one asked me if I needed assistance, staff that was on the floor was minimal and either talking to each other, putting away stock or texting on cell phones. Product was very messy and disorganized making it hard to find what I needed. What I wanted was not where main sock was but on a tower elsewhere in back of store. Had I not looked around, I would've assumed they were out of stock. Also no signs with prices on towers. At register, cashier was texting on phone while I waited. When she did take me, she never asked if I found everything ok or I would've told her. It was clear she was just trying to get me out of there. She looked like she should've been at the gym honestly. Very unprofessional experience.

I just went to get Supergoop's Unseen Sunscreen (which is FSA-eligible, by the way). They have other sunscreens like BGS, but 'Unseen' works better with and for my skin.The staff here are super attentive, friendly, and helpful.

worst staff ever!! my daughter and her friend walked in side of ulta and the lady that that have never seen before ( we go there very often ) started following them around and they went to see the new sol de janerio and she thought that they opened a new one but they were simply using a tester and she walked up to them and said " what did you open we have to dispose it " no hi just that they were scared cause it was very weird how she just walked up to them and then they left ate food and came back with a new friend and the lady passed bye them say on her microphone to all the staff " the girls that lied start to my face are back " and after that I got them because what she said knowing they could here it was very inappropriate and I will never be going back to ulta ever again .

I went here for a curly style and the ladies were really nice. I hated my hair after though, it seemed the stylist had little experience with curly hair. I felt I was overcharged for lackluster styling. Please do not advertise that you are a natural stylist if you do not know simple styles.
