Update: Good caring vet. Yes the below statements are true but I shouldn’t be so harsh. The front desk staff are something to be desired though
Disorganized. Poor response time. Confusing explanations of medical results. Laypeople shouldn’t need a vet degree to understand their pet’s problems.

We absolutely love our vet, Dr. Orestein, my apologies if I misspelled your name. My maiden name everyone misspelled because my grandparents immigrated from Krakow, Poland. We would never have our cats, Jacob and Esau, if we didn’t use GVC. We had lost our special cat, Sasha at age 13 from diabetes. I am a diabetic and we were on the same insulin. They took excellent care of her and told us of these two guys as their owner could no longer care for them and they were living at GVC. We came to meet them and it was obvious that they picked us to be their parents. For those negative posts concerning costs, let me share that they had not yet been neutered. They made sure they had their shots, vet exam and neutered before we picked them up. We paid nothing. I would not even consider taking them anywhere else. Every employee we love and they are the best. I wish I would have been able to follow my dreams and become a vet. Instead I am a nurse. Most days I prefer animals to people. When I am depressed they come sit in my lap. As a child I was divinely healed from a terminal disease. I could not be around other children because the common cold could kill me. I had two cats and 1 dog at the time. I would give GVC 10 stars if available. We love you guys. You are awesome and you are family.

We weren’t a patient at the time needing care and all other close avian vets couldn’t see you for a couple days. They fit us in no questions asked!

This vet is amazing. Not only did they take care of our dogs but also our birds. What makes it special is the vet and staff really care about animals and treat us like family. Highly recommended.

Took my ratty in to have a tumor looked at; she had the surgery to have it removed and she was her normal self the day after the surgery. Thanks to the staff at Gambrills Vet for taking good care of her!
Recently had to take my ratty again for a second, more difficult surgery.
Dr. Orenstein was able to help her and she recovered spectacularly! Very happy he is in my area. It's so hard to find a good vet and especially one that does exotics.

I have to send a review about my bunny's spay experience. I didn't see any when I searched here, so I want to leave a review for those who have bunnies and are considering GVC. Doctor Orenstein was great throughout the entire process. He was very honest about the risks associated with the procedure due to anesthesia. I was extremely nervous however, her risk of death from cancer was higher without the surgery.
Leading up to the surgery, Dr. O consulted with me and ran tests to ensure that she was healthy enough for surgery. We also discussed the cost of the procedure, the blood tests, nail trim (free during the surgery), pre and post op expectations. Both Dr. O and the nurse assisting him where excellent with Samantha Bunny (aka-Sammie Girl).
On the day of the surgery, the front desk staff were pleasant. I felt comfortable leaving her with them. I was also told that a decision would be made after surgery of Sammie could go home, or if she would stay overnight. I was comfortable with either option.
Before COB, Dr. O called me to inform me that all was well and that Samantha was free to go home unless I wanted her to stay overnight. I preferred to pick her up. When I arrived, she was comfortably in the same room with the doctor and another provider. They showed me the medications that she would need to take for the next few days (for pain reduction and infection prevention) and they helped me to administer the first doses. The doctor also showed me her incision.
The next day, Naomi called to check on Samantha. She also answered a few questions that I had about about her restrictions.
It's been 7 days now and Samantha is doing extremely well. She never skipped a meal doing her entire recovery time. If it were not for the scar on her stomach and her meds, there would be no other indication that she had surgery. She is still full of energy and just as playful. Unfortunately, she has to be restricted in her movement for now, but she should be back to normal in the next 2-3 days. Her last day on meds will be today.
Thank you GVC!!!!

My cats and my chickens have been well cared for with sensitivity and thoughtfulness. The staff is friendly and efficient. My only concern would be that the trips to and from the treatment rooms in crates should be less bumpy for my cats.

My fur babies looked to have just as wonderful of a vacation as I did when picking them up. This was their first time boarding here. They stayed for 10 days while I was out of the country. The staff let me know what medical information was needed for boarding when I first called to make the reservation. The pricing was also very reasonable. I chose this place because it eased my worries knowing that my pets will be able to see a vet if needed. They also were very pleasant in greeting at drop off and let me know the night before that all I needed to bring was my pets food if I would like. The place was very lovely and clean inside! All staff was friendly, I will definitely be taking my fur babies back there whenever I travel. They looked healthy and well cared for when I picked them up. Overall an awesome experience to know your pets are loved while you are away. You all are awesome!! Love Reese and Loona!

This place is horrible. They treat their employees like absolute trash. I have never ever seen such harassment take place like this. The doctor is a literal garbage human being and treats his employees like slaves. Do not go here. This doctor needs to be taken to court or get his license revoked. He is a horrible human.
