Really bad experience. I took my car to Dan for a few items (clean up some wiring in the engine bay, get the AC working, fix a lighting issue) and he said he would be able to tackle those issues before I bought the car in. After the first few weeks, I realized my car was not a priority. I also realized he wasn't really invested in figuring out what wasn't working on the car. He would tell me what parts to order etc, and I ordered a part that he later told me wouldn't fit. So finally after 2 MONTHS I got fedup with this nonsense and I decided to go get my car. Then tells me this story that he was busy with other cars and he hasn't really focused on my car, but he can get it done if I give him another week. So I did... Only to go pick the car and it was half assed. We get into an argument about me "bitching" because I didn't like the condition in which I got my car back. First thing I noticed was how dirty my car was, didn't say anything about. Then I noticed that my steering wheel cover was hanging from the steering wheel, so I starting getting upset (internally). Then when we pop the hood, I notice fluid under the hood, I ask what is that... and he states oh "it's brake fluid" (He had to move my brake fluid reservoir for the wiring). My response in a agitated tone is "uhhh... why is there brake fluid all on the metal of my car, brake fluid is corrosive" he's responds "no it's not". So he proceeds to wash way the brake fluid now with bottled water. I notice inside my car is muddy and dirty and he only completed one task, which was clean up the wiring. So obviously I'm agitated that 1. you treated my E30 M3 like s**** 2 You took for ever to get one thing accomplished. 3. Your raising your voice at me because your pissed off that I'm "Bitching". Mind you when I get the car home, I notice that he also hit my front bumper hard enough to break the sidemaker light (my car is lowered). Dan should get out of the business of working on people's cars...

Zero stars. He destroyed my car and was so inebriated while working, he couldn’t form a sentence. Sad actually. Beware

Paid $3k for a botched head gasket repair on my e36. Owner was so drunk, he couldn't talk, let alone repair my car properly. Motor never ran again and when I pulled for apart, there were numerous mistakes. I ate the $3k and moved on with my life. Just posting here so others don't make the same mistake I did. I read all the good reviews and thought I was in safe hands. Lesson learned.

Dan was great and helped me get my BMW back on the road after having it parked for over a year. I would recommend dan without hesitation. I encountered some trouble picking up my vehicle given my work schedule and he was very accommodating and nice. The price was reasonable and he evaluated everything and was very transparent. I enjoyed his communication and great customer service concerning my vehicle. I felt comfortable doing business with Dan and at no point did he recommend anything but what was required to make my car safe again. The price was great and his customer service impeccable. The employees were very nice and because this was my second vehicle for commuter purposes they made sure to take their time evaluating everything since it was parked for a year. My car is back on the road and I feel comfortable driving this car everywhere. Thanks again Dan!

I would like to share my recent experiences with Martins's Auto Service ( in Gaithersburg MD. Owner is very well experienced BMW mechanic. AS you know BMW cars have lot of things that can't be fixed by ordinary mechanics. He explains problems to you in the car and gives you very fair estimates to repair those problems. He does not sell things, you don't need. I am very happy with the service he gives and would highly recommend him to anyone who needs BMW serviced.

Another awesome experience with Dan Martin and crew! Life has been a little stressful lately so it's a big relief that I have a mechanic I can trust when my car breaks. Enjoyed the drive home tonight in my Mini Cooper.

I got fed up with the stealership and decided to find an independent BMW repair service. Based on recommendations on the National Capital Chapter of BMW CCA forum, I decided to give Martin's Auto Service a try. I was very pleased with the work done and the price. Thank you Dan!

Dan Martin is a pro. Fair, honest, easy to work with. He loves BMWs and knows more about them than any shop in the Washington area. I've been to 3 dealers and 4 "recommended" independents. No one comes close to Dan's service and expertise. He is THE BEST.

Dan and staff is Very friendly and helpful. He gave me free estimates for the repair and checked the overall status of the car. Also whenever I called him I could find him on the phone and he was very courteous to offer his advice. I am glad to find his services for my BMW and would not step in dealership. Dan will save you time, money and frustration.

I have taken several BMWs to Dan over the past 10 years. He is the most honest engineer you will ever find. His prices are reasonable and the quality of work is excellent. Don't bother going to the dealership unless you need a rental car and a cappuccino.
