You should avoid King VW Kia in Gaithersburg. Below are the details of my most recent experience with this dealership. Customer service rep was difficult to communicate with and mildly hostile. I called rep 3x to ask when the car would be ready and he did not return any of my calls. Car was kept overnight, without notice to me. I was left stranded after hours and had to call a family member to pick me up. The next day, the customer service manager called me to apologize and said he would “make it right.” He did not follow up the call with any action. The shop refused to replace my broken side mirror glass and instead insisted that I pay $1k to replace the entire side mirror unit. There was no water available in the waiting area, including the drink machine, which was stocked with sugary drinks. A couple of days after I got my car back, I received a lengthy on-line survey to fill out. After spending 10 minutes thoughtfully completing the survey, when I clicked [submit], I got the error message, “Survey not found.”

The experience with Bobby, Alex, Ahmed, and Kevin was first class from first contact to driving away. A great team all round with good pricing and no issues... not one! What's not to like?

Wouldn’t recommend purchasing a VW. They have a backed up service counter with no loaner vehicles available due to an over flow of new defective vehicles. Problem is so bad that they will only repair new VW vehicles at the purchased dealer. This is a huge inconvenience for someone like myself that lives in VA and now has to drive an 1.30 to MD to get a water leak checked that caused mold and bad odor on a 5 month old Taos. It is very disappointing to say the least and extremely frustrating. Spend your money elsewhere. Doesn’t seem that VW cares about their costumers and quality of their vehicles enough and is more focused on their own bottom line. I’ve been waiting now for two weeks to get called back for an appointment to yet again look at the same problem. After they kept the car last time for over a week patch it up. This is a joke!

Tried to buy a brand new car here on Friday. I found one i really liked so i asked to purchase it the same day. After running my credit (6 inquiries showed up). I still said fine let's get this going. It was not till late Friday that I received the message saying they are ready for paperwork, at this time I was with family so Alvaro said I can do it Saturday noon. I agreed and when I tried to reach out to them at 11 am, no one called me back. I called many times but Alvaro ended up selling the same car to another customer the same day because it was removed from their website. To this day they never called me back. They don't really value their customer, as long as money is coming in that's all they care about. I then purchased the same car locally while my local dealer only ran my credit once. I don't know why they would run your credit 6 times causing 6 inquiries on your credit.

The car is amazing and the dealership made the process quick and easy. I also feel like I got a great price. Call Alvaro for 5 star service!

1. Michael Park was great handling my appointment.2. To get to that appointment I had to go through 2 fruitless phone call where Kevin promised me to call back and explain my options and never did. Then I just scheduled on-line.3. My car was supposedly complimentary exterior-washed (per the paperwork) and in fact it was not.4. The newly installed 4 tires had lots of white goo stains that were not cleaned off. The wheels where dirty (as they were when I dropped off). Expectation was that at least the wheels would look presentable after an exterior wash done as it was noted in the paperwork.

Took our VW Tiguan in for service due to an engine light on and the auto-stop not properly functioning. King recommended a large variety of services and fixes. We opted only for a battery replacement. They send an online link to confirm desired services and the quote for service. The initial diagnosis fee, the battery, additional service fees and taxes all came out to a grand total of $400, which I already thought was fairly expensive for a battery replacement but accepted and confirmed the quote for $400. I showed up to pick up the car, and was charged $700 for the battery replacement. I opened the link again to assess the charges and of course, it's to a live website, so it had all since been updated to reflect the $700 in charges. To operate like this as a business - have someone confirm a quote for $400 then charge $700 at the door - is beyond shady practice. They cannot possibly be considered an "elite" dealership if they do this type of thing to customers. They did complete the job, so I gave them the two stars. But a surprise $700 to replace and reassociate the battery seems asinine and disqualifying. It's a form of theft to do that to me on the spot for an additional $300. I will never seek service with them if out of pocket costs are associated with the service. Be careful when confirming quotes for service with King VW.

This company is the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. First, we worked 2 days to close this deal. The day the deal should have went through they sold the car out from under us and instead of making it right ,sent us straight to another dealership that was fantastic and delivered the car to us. We sent King all our information and it took them 3 hrs to get a credit app to us. Took us 20 min to fill out the app and in that time they sold not one ,but two Atlas off the lot. I would not recommend them to anyone especially if your trying to close a deal and it takes them 3 hrs to get back to you with the paperwork and then tell you they sold the vehicle that they had for you. Not a good way to keep business or treat your customers.

I had originally written a good review about this dealership because I had a pretty fast buying experience but I see now that they were NOT honest about issues the car had. I have had to service my vehicle multiple times since I purchased it at the end of June to evaluate noises coming from the transmission. Turns out, it needs replaced! Putting a bandaid on issues to push the car out the door for a quick sale is shady and very poor business! ?

This is the fifth VW that I bought or leased at King VW in G'burg. The reason is simple: In my experience, Kings is the best dealership in the tri-state area. This rating compares my experience with quite a few dealerships in the area.Salespeople are honest, trustworthy, and keep their commitments. This time I ordered a vehicle. My specifications were met precisely and entirely, the promised delivery date was met and the overall interaction was more than a pleasure. KING VW's service department has courteous, knowledgeable, and honest staff. Overall a high five.

I went to King for a trade-in of my Tesla to a Honda Ridgeline they had on the lot. Zach D helped me out in this process. It took a few hours to finalize the deal, but thanks to Zach I did not mind the wait at all. His professionalism, straightforwardness, and customer-driven approach should be an example for other salesmen. I knew what I wanted, and was not upsold or walked to things I did not want. Zach had no problem facilitating to the best of his abilities. 5/5 recommend!

I have been a loyal VW customer for over 10 years, but my recent experience with Kings VW in Maryland has left me extremely disappointed and frustrated.Last week, I traded in my 2018 Tiguan for a brand new 2023 VW Atlas from Kings VW. Excited about the purchase, I drove the car for approximately 155 miles out of the 240 miles until disaster struck. The car started shaking violently, accompanied by a loud clanking sound, and various warning lights on the dashboard lit up. To make matters worse, the vehicle abruptly slowed down, almost causing a serious accident. I was forced to pull over to the shoulder for safety. The first call I made was to the dealership, expecting their immediate assistance, given that this issue occurred just 2 hours and 155 miles into my ownership. To my dismay, I was met with indifference, and they directed me to go through the warranty process. Feeling stranded and let down, I then called roadside assistance, who made me wait for 2 hours, only to never show up. At this point, I had no choice but to call 911, and thankfully they sent a tow truck to get me off the turnpike. However, the nightmare didn't end there. I had to arrange towing on my own for another 80 miles, as roadside assistance failed to provide the help I desperately needed. The whole experience was not only nerve-wracking but also costly, as I had to pay over $1,000 in towing charges and arrange for alternative transportation to get back home.Despite my loyal customer status, Kings VW has not demonstrated any care or empathy during this entire ordeal. They sold me a defective vehicle, and instead of taking responsibility and providing proper assistance, they left me to fend for myself. This has shattered my trust in the dealership and the brand as a whole.VW is aware of the engine issues on the 2023 model as there are numerous recalls on the engines.I urge potential buyers to be cautious when considering Kings VW for their automotive needs. Their lack of accountability and customer service in times of crisis is concerning, and I can't help but wonder how many other customers have faced similar neglect.I sincerely hope that my review serves as a warning and prompts VW to reevaluate their approach to customer care. As for myself, I'll be seeking resolution through other channels, and this experience has made me seriously question whether I can ever rely on this car or dealership again.

During our purchase process the salesman did great. He didn’t push or try to add things we didn’t want. Now for the nightmare part of the process. Finance. When we were transferred to the finance department we waited for about 40 min. While waiting we were asked to fill out a questionnaire and told it was VW asking for data on how the cars were used and driving habits.Once called back the finance person started to explain maintenance of vehicles in a very condescending manner. I stopped him and asked if he was selling a warranty and told him I wasn’t interested. He then said but your car will need all this work in the future. I stated I still didn’t want it. He then changed his attitude to an abrasive one. The entire time in there was very unprofessional.Once we walked out there were a few employees in the dealership talking and one on speaker phone. With us, and other families including children present this employee on speaker phone was cussing to include the “F” word at least 10 times and everyone heard it. The other employees reaction was just to laugh at it. No concern and disregard for the customers, children or reputation of the dealership.

Despite not ultimately buying a car from King VW, I had an incredibly pleasant experience working with Sasha, who took on my query about a used (non VW) car being sold by the dealership. Sasha went above and beyond in accommodating a visit to see the car at a convenient time, and was incredibly pleasant and professional throughout my entire interaction. While I ultimately did not buy the car, the decision was made more difficult given the incredibly positive experience working with him. He was transparent and honest throughout the entire process, patient with my questions and requests, and incredibly service oriented.
