I normally don't rent from Hertz and this experience was horrible. Never again. They ripped me off when I turned the car back claiming that they had to change the whole windshield due to a miniscule chip that wasn't caused under my watch. I paid $50 to get them off my back. Hertz won that round but lost me forever. I only rent like 10 to 20 times a year.

Update:
After finally reaching the manager i was able to confirm they had another car waiting only thing was I had to be there before 5 as their system auto shut down right at 5 and they can’t do anything about it. I did make it in time however I think the company should look into changing this feature as I had to drive almost 2 hours to get to this location.
All worked out in the end minus the day I had to take off work to get this resolved.
Ridiculous customer service worst experience ever. No one ever answers the phone. Was told another location was going to swap out the rental more lies. Won’t ever rent from them privately.
There is no way to reply to the response I called your numbers and they simply instruct me to call back and press 5 which is actually incorrect.
I have been on hold now for 21 minutes waiting for the manager to come to the phone person who answered the phone said he was right there.
If I could give no stats I would give none. This is the worst rental experience I’ve had.

Im a travel Nurse for 4 yrs and I've been to many rental cars all over Maryland, the service in Perry Prkwy is excellent! and the associates of this Hertz branch are nice and kind. They make rental experience worth it!

2 out of the last 3 times I went there were absolutely horrible. No one was there to help me. Finding support during my rental was almost impossible.
The latest time I went was absolutely perfect. There was this guy there that was very helpful. Had such great service. Wish I got his name to give him a shout out. It was like zero wait time even though there were like 4 customers there already.

Subject: Review of Today's Rental Experience with Hertz Representative, Mr. Brian, Location ManagerHaving been a loyal Hertz customer for the past decade, I've generally enjoyed positive experiences, approximately 95% of the time. However, today's encounter was anything but satisfactory.Despite making a reservation and fully paying for a 7-seat minivan, upon arriving late for pickup, I informed the site of my delay and requested to retain the vehicle. Regrettably, Mr. Brian, the manager, exhibited extreme rudeness. Upon arrival, he falsely claimed to have allocated my reserved vehicle to another customer, despite it being present in the parking lot.I do not recommend this site and Mr. Brian.Such conduct not only tarnishes Hertz's reputation but also inconveniences customers and hinders business operations. It's imperative for Hertz to address such issues promptly by providing comprehensive training to its employees, fostering a more professional environment devoid of ego.Disappointed by this experience, I swiftly secured the same vehicle at a better rate through Budget. Moving forward, I'll certainly reconsider conducting business with Hertz.Thank you,

Good experience here! Recommended. The staff are friendly and service is quick. Note this is in the hotel, go in the main entrance and you will see a door to their office on the left, there is no sign outside so can be a bit confusing.

Rented a Tesla model 3 for about a month via insurance. The customer service was good. You can tell they’re very swamped with just two people, but they are still very friendly and helpful. The car, however, was a mess. The back seats have a lot of sticky substances on them, the cup holders were nasty and the screen was really dirty. From what I overheard from another customer who was dropping off the car, I’m pretty sure they handed me that car right away.

The rental center is inside the double tree hotel. The booking process was fine, but on-site customer service was horrible. First, there is no seating. Second, the individual at the counter was rude and disrespectful. He would not give us a straight answer to our questions, and his attitude was infuriating. He left us standing at the counter with no explanation. Another rep (Brian) came in and fished our checkout. The vehicle was dirty and it was given to us with gas for 12 miles to go (although contact said 15%). Definitely AVOID this location.

Called 6x to pickup my rental. Whoever works there picked up the phone & just hung up. ????? Every time. After going through all the automated prompts 6x.Does someone really pay you for that?

I have been calling this location for THREE DAYS trying to get someone on the phone for a business rental. I have tried every option to get someone on the phone. I could tell you the entire phone menu from memory.Does ANYONE work at this location? Have you closed down and not updated your website? My fleet company says I must use this location, but I am calling them now to let them know this experience and to literally never make anyone depend on this type of service in a pinch ever again. Wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.

I usually love renting with Hertz. They're one of the best rental companies, but this past experience was one of the worst I have ever had. My reservation was for a standard 8-passenger van. Before my pickup time, I was called and told they didn't have a van but would give me an 8-passenger SUV instead, great. When I arrived, there was no SUV. I was told the Frederick location has a van, no prob. When I arrived in Frederick, the van they had was a 7-seater minivan, which was my only option. I somehow ended up paying more for a smaller vehicle with fewer seats because it's in the small class of my reservation. This experience overall has been a headache.

I really want to highlight the kind service and patience with the employee this past Saturday 28, 2023. I did not catch his name. Needless to say we came into the branch 6 minutes past the closing time, and he took our rental as professionally as I had seen in a long time. It is not pleasant when someone walks in past the closing time. I was also impressed with his attitude and willingness to answer any questions. Most businesses are NOT this nice anymore sadly. He’s definitely bringing back the Golden Rule. Kudos!
