We had Johnson restore some family heirloom furniture for us. It was not fine or high-quality furniture, but held a lot of special memories for us. Pat and her team did outstanding work with the restorations, going the extra mile for quality and attention to detail. We especially appreciate that they treated the work with all of the same care as if it were fine furniture pieces.

I am so pleased with the restoration you did on my antique pine and maple side table. What a beautiful finish it has now, and the drawer is much sturdier. I smile every time I see it. I brought in an oyster basket that my great, great, great grandfather had made (he was in the basket business). It had holes in it, and Harry Johnson's craftspeople did an amazing job with the repair. I cannot even tell where it was patched. I had to drive an hour to the shop and an hour back, and I would do it all over again! Thank you for restoring my family heirloom!

Johnson & Son have repaired a number of pieces of furniture over the last several years, most recently recaning a bench whose back suffered a large hole due to grandchildren. They have previously repaired a chair whose bamboo arm was chewed by our son's dog. The new arm and rattan wrapping appeared original. They have reglued any number of our old chairs (neither children nor grandchildren to blame), all of which continue to get regular use and have remained stable for years afterwards. We have never had cause to be disappointed.

I sent them a mahogany knee-hole desk from my grandmother’s house that was in serious disrepair with water and other damage that I thought was unrepairable. I got back a museum piece that will last another century or more. Now this is how to recycle. Great place, these people are artists!

A joy to work with. Absolutely first rate craftsmanship, professionally handled. Took some research to find the best furniture repair and upholstery shop in the DC area, but worth it, even though quite a drive from Annapolis. I give them the highest recommendation possible. They did the chair seats in the photos. Showed me a complex pattern cane seat they were about to begin, and some amazing finished pieces. Great people.

Harry & Son refinished two pieces for us. Their work is impeccable! The highboy that I sent them was in pieces and looks beautiful now! The hall tree is a show piece - thanks to them. I highly recommend their work. They took their time to do it right. These pieces will be loved by our family for another 100 years!

Harry refinished coffee tables and night stands for us. They did an excellent job. The price was competitive and the workmanship was great. They were even able to change the color of a black table to match the color of our coffee table. This is the second time I have worked with Harry’s and I am so grateful to have found this furniture repair shop.

This was our second time to use Harry C. Johnson for a furniture repair. The first was broken caning in a dining room chair. Expertly done. This time we needed 6 cushions replaced for kitchen dining chairs. The material used to replace the old was high quality as was the workmanship. We were disappointed in the turn-around time of 4 weeks but fortunately, they were completed in 3 weeks...nice surprise. Patricia is a very pleasant person to deal with and is very knowledgeable about furniture repair. We will definitely use them again.

I brought in three dining room chairs just before the end of the year holidays for reupholstery and restoration. The craftmanship, reupholstery and restoration of the chairs are impeccable. This company did excellent work refinishing the top surfaces of four separate cherry wood pieces for us. They are not cheap but they delivered great results and were very good to work with. We especially appreciated that Pat was honest about needing to see the pieces before promising the workmen could make all scratches and marks disappear. (They did.)
